Abstract

The growing complexity of anxiety disorders, a common mental health problem, significantly affects individuals' quality of life. In an effort to address this disorder, mindfulness therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) have become an increasing focus of research. However, the comparative effectiveness between these two therapeutic approaches is still a matter of debate in the scientific literature. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy in overcoming anxiety disorders. The research method used was a systematic review of relevant empirical studies that have been conducted in this field. Data from these studies were comprehensively analyzed to evaluate the relative effectiveness of the two therapeutic approaches. The results showed that both mindfulness therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy have significant benefits in reducing anxiety disorder symptoms. However, there are differences in the approach and focus of each therapy. Mindfulness therapy emphasizes on self-awareness of thoughts and feelings without judging them, while cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on changing negative thought patterns and harmful behaviors. In addition, some studies have shown that cognitive-behavioral therapy can provide faster results especially in addressing acute anxiety symptoms, while mindfulness therapy tends to be more effective in the long run. The conclusion of this study is that both mindfulness therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy can be effective options in treating anxiety disorders, depending on individual needs and preferences. The selection of the appropriate therapy should take into account individual characteristics, the severity of the anxiety disorder, and the treatment context. A combination or integration between the two types of therapy may also be a promising approach in improving treatment outcomes for individuals with anxiety disorders.

Abstract

Mental health is a vital aspect of an individual's well-being that has a direct impact on their quality of life. However, there are still many patients who experience mental health problems that are undiagnosed or not well-managed. Therefore, mental health education programs are important to improve understanding and management of patients' mental health conditions. This study aims to evaluate the effect of mental health education programs on improving patients' quality of life. With a focus on understanding their condition, stress management abilities, and skills in dealing with daily challenges related to mental health. The research method used is quantitative and qualitative with a prospective intervention study. Data was collected through questionnaires. The results of this study indicate an increase in patients' understanding of their mental health conditions, as well as an improvement in their ability to manage stress and related daily challenges. Apart from that, the patient's quality of life also improves after participating in the mental health education program. The conclusion of this research is that mental health education programs have a positive impact on the quality of life of patients with mental health disorders. Increased understanding, stress management skills, and feelings of ability to face daily challenges help patients feel more able to manage their mental health conditions more effectively, which in turn improves their overall quality of life. This research provides a strong basis for continuing and developing mental health education programs as an integral part of the care of patients with mental health disorders. It is hoped that ongoing efforts in outreach and education about mental health will strengthen understanding and support for patients, as well as improve their clinical outcomes and quality of life in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Mental health is an important component in achieving an individual's overall well-being. However, mental health services are often separated from physical health services, creating significant gaps in the healthcare system. Integration of mental health services into the physical healthcare system is a major challenge that must be overcome to create a holistic approach to healthcare. Strong social stigma towards mental health remains a major barrier, which prevents individuals from accessing the services they need. In addition, access to mental health services, especially in remote areas, is still limited due to lack of expertise and unequal distribution. An integrated approach, involving multidisciplinary coordination between various health professions as well as the utilization of technology, such as telecounseling and digital applications, can expand the reach of services. In addition, strong policy support and investment in digital infrastructure development are needed to accelerate the implementation of more equitable and inclusive services. Collaboration between the government, health workers, and communities is a strategic step to overcome this challenge. With strong synergy and the elimination of stigma, a more effective and sustainable mental health system is expected

Abstract

Background: Hospital accreditation is a form of appreciation for hospital organizations that have met the service standards set by the government. Perceptions and motivations about the importance of accreditation for hos­pital institutions and employees are needed to foster a sense of service commitment in employees for the realization of a quality service system. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceptions of the importance of Hospital Accreditation with participation, commitment, job satisfact­ion, and employee performance.Subjects and Method: A cross sectional study was conducted at Pelita Insani Martapura Hospital, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The research population is hospital employees. The sample is 153 hospital employees selected by proportional random sampling. The dependent variable is work commitment. The independent variables are perceptions of the importance of accreditation and motivation. Data were collected using observation sheets and ques­tionnaires and analyzed by multiple linear regression.Results: High perception about the import­ance of accreditation (b= 0.06; 95% CI= 0.02 to 0.13; <0.001) and strong motivation (b= 0.31; 95% CI= 0.31 to 0.71; p= 0.006) increased employee commitment.Conclusion: High perception of the import­ance of accreditation and strong motivation to increase employee work commitment.Keywords: commitment, perception, motiva­tion, accreditationCorrespondence: Septin Maisharah Karyono.
