Abstract

Abstract

This community engagement initiative aims to conduct a workshop on Zotero for students in writing academic papers. The workshop intends to introduce the use of Zotero as a tool for managing references and compiling accurate bibliographies. The methodology employed involves an interactive workshop format consisting of presentations, practical demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions. The expected outcome of this community engagement is to provide significant benefits to students in enhancing their skills in academic writing. By utilizing Zotero, it is anticipated that students will become more efficient in managing references, avoiding plagiarism, and creating comprehensive and accurate bibliographies. Furthermore, the workshop seeks to improve students' understanding of research ethics and the use of quality information sources. This workshop aims to cater to diverse needs in academic paper writing. Additionally, the workshop serves as a catalyst for promoting the adoption of modern technologies and tools in academic writing.

Abstract

Abstract

The high volatility and non-linearity of stock market data present significant challenges in forecasting price movements. This study aims to develop an accurate predictive model for the daily closing price of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network. The primary objective is to enhance predictive accuracy by incorporating technical indicators—Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)—into the model architecture. Historical stock data from 2010 to 2024 were collected from Yahoo Finance. The dataset was preprocessed through data cleaning, feature engineering, normalization, and time-based splitting into training and testing sets. The LSTM model was trained using the Mean Squared Error (MSE) loss function and optimized with the Adam optimizer. Model performance was evaluated based on key metrics including MSE, Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Error (MAE). The results indicate that the model performs effectively, with training RMSE of 73.61 and testing RMSE of 92.47. These findings demonstrate that the LSTM model, enriched with RSI and MACD indicators, is capable of capturing temporal patterns in stock prices and generating reliable forecasts. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on deep learning applications in financial forecasting, and offers practical insights for investors and analysts in understanding market behavior and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

Purpose – Despite the increasing integration of digital technologies in higher education, students’ actual adoption remains inconsistent. Prior studies have predominantly relied on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), with limited attention to pedagogical technological competence and the interaction between psychological and institutional factors. This study aims to examine the influence of Self-Efficacy and School Support on students’ Behavioral Intention to use educational technology, with the mediating roles of Perceived Usefulness and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK).Methods – A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected from 330 university students in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, using an online questionnaire and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Findings - The results show that Self-Efficacy significantly influences TPACK (β = 0.751, p < 0.001) and Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.798, p < 0.001), while School Support significantly affects TPACK (β = 0.174, p < 0.001). Furthermore, TPACK (β = 0.603, p < 0.001) and Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.267, p < 0.001) significantly predict Behavioral Intention. Mediation analysis indicates that Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.213, p < 0.001) and TPACK (β = 0.105–0.453, p < 0.001) serve as significant mediators.Research implications – These findings emphasize the importance of enhancing students’ technological competence and strengthening institutional support systems to promote effective technology adoption. However, the study is limited to a specific regional context, which may affect generalizability.Originality – This study extends TAM–TPACK integration by introducing a dual mediation framework that simultaneously examines psychological (Self-Efficacy) and institutional (School Support) factors in university students, highlighting the mediating roles of Perceived Usefulness and TPACK in technology adoption..
