Abstract

Occupational health is very much needed by stakeholders because of the prevalence of infectious diseases due to the spread of globalization. Stakeholders are very vulnerable to disease transmission because they are face to face and even come into contact with the community. In addition, stakeholders need an understanding of religious knowledge because in general stakeholders carry out professions because of heredity so that they need to be given guidance so that they have an understanding of the function, meaning of the profession and ritual ceremonies. Community service carried out by the health yoga study program aims to provide guidance and training to stakeholders in Denpasar City both from the social, religious and health aspects so that stakeholders can follow modernity standards, especially in the health sector without losing the sanctity and meaning of religious ceremonies or yadnya. The implementation methods for this activity are method I (presentation), method II (demonstration), method III (demonstrations and distribution of materials/tools) and method IV (demonstration). The results of the evaluation at the end of this activity, there was a significant increase in knowledge of the participants with the average posttest score above 90 points. In general, the implementation of this service was well received by the participants and went smoothly. Obstacles such as the schedule of activities that clash with holy holidays and the limited space for the implementation can be overcome through good cooperation from all parties. During the service, it was found that the enthusiasm of the participants to deepen the teachings of Hinduism and knowledge related to health was very high.

Abstract

Background: Prambanan Temple, as a world cultural heritage site, is a silent witness of the Tri Murti worship in Hinduism. Tri Murti, which consists of Brahma (Creator), Vishnu (Preserver), and Shiva (Redeemer), is represented by three main temples in the Prambanan Temple complex, namely Shiva Temple, Vishnu Temple, and Brahma Temple. This research aims to reveal the symbolism of Tri Murti in Prambanan Temple and its relationship with the Hindu cosmological cycle that includes creation, maintenance, and dissolution. Methods: The approach used is qualitative with analytical descriptive method, which examines the architectural structure and arrangement of the three main temples as a representation of the cycle of the universe. Findings: The results show that the arrangement and selection of the three temples illustrate the concept of Hindu cosmology related to the three stages of the life of the universe. This discovery not only confirms the spiritual significance of Prambanan Temple as a place of worship of Tri Murti but also enriches our understanding of Hindu teachings in the context of architecture and space. Conclusions: Tri Murti worship at Prambanan Temple makes an important contribution to the theory of Hindu cosmology and has significant implications for the preservation of Hindu culture and religious practices in Indonesia. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study reveals the unique connection between Tri Murti symbolism and the Hindu cosmological cycle in Prambanan's architecture, which has been rarely explored in previous research.

Abstract

In Hindu teachings, education begins in the womb. However, if it is related to Catur Asrama (the four stages of human life), education begins at the age of 0-25 years to be able to move on to the next level. This study explains that the Vedas are a source of dharma teachings in an effort to develop character in the era of globalization to build a learning mentality and the ability of the learner to be resilient in facing the realities and dynamics of the 21st century. To overcome this problem, as Hindus, we can use the Vedas as a guide for life in facing the current reality. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to several samples aged 19-22 years to obtain information and data related to perceptions and whether Vedic learning can influence the development of character in the 21st century. Most of the participants in this study received Vedic learning since entering college and there were some who got it at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and only a few got it through their families. Most of the participants first read Bhagavadgita and Reg Veda which made them feel calm after reading it. This study found that globalization is a technological era that can have a negative influence if it cannot be utilized properly. A dynamic society is trapped in worldly problems. The presence of the Vedas can develop superior human beings with divine character as Veda’s ideals and can develop noble ethics as an effort to face the realities of the 21st century.
