Abstract

The implementation of the problem based learning (PBL) model in online learning or what is abbreviated as e-PBL is an alternative model that can be used during learning to improve and maintain the quality of online learning. This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the ethnoecological integrated Online Problem Based Learning (e-PBL) learning model to increase the environmental literacy of biology education students. The method used is Quasi-Experimental Design using Non-equivalent. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau Islamic University. Data analysis was carried out using the MSELS (Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey) questionnaire which was adapted based on the scientific integration applied. The research results show that the independent sample t test value has a Sig value. (2-tailed) <0.05 between experimental and control classes. In conclusion, the ethnoecological integrated e-PBL learning model influences the environmental literacy abilities of biology education students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of students of SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru based on gender differences in the context of biology learning. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research sample included all grade XI students, consisting of 69 male students and 81 female students. The results of the study indicate that teachers have used critical thinking-based questions in learning evaluations, although they have not been fully guided by clear indicators. Based on interviews, students from science classes find it easier to solve questions than students from business classes, who find the questions more difficult. The conclusion of this study is that although critical thinking skills have begun to be applied, the development of structured indicators and adjustments to the level of difficulty of questions need to be done to support students' critical thinking skills optimally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik di kelas XI SMA YRM Cihawar. Hasil belajar merupakan salah satu tolak ukur keberhasilan proses pembelajaran, maka dari itu pendidik dituntut untuk segera mencari berbagai upaya untuk mencapai keberhasilan. Rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor diantaranya pemilihan model pembelajaran dengan tipe yang kurang tepat digunakan oleh pendidik. Menyikapi permasalahan tersebut pada penelitian ini penulis menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe open ended pada kelas eksperimen dan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada kelas kontrol. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: 1) Perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model bembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe open ended pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest). 2) Perbedaan hasil peserta didik yang menggunakan metode konvensional pada pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest). 3) Perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe open ended dengan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan metode konvensional pada pengukuran akhir (posttest). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain quasi eksperimental nonequivalent control group desain dan pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa simpulan sebagai berikut:1) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe open ended pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest).2) Terdapat perbedaan hasil peserta didik yang menggunakan metode konvensional pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest).3) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe open ended dengan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan metode konvensional pada pengukuran akhir (posttest).

Abstract

Students who participate in community service projects are expected to develop moral character in addition to scholastic aptitude. Instilling moral principles that can mold pupils' personalities and characters and be used in everyday situations is the major objective. by spreading awareness of the value of developing moral character in day-to-day interactions. The development of morally and ethically sound attitudes and behaviors, such as honesty, accountability, discipline, empathy, and teamwork, is the main goal of character education. These principles serve as the cornerstone for developing people who possess both high moral standards and intellectual prowess. Character education can be implemented in a number of ways, including by incorporating character values into the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and community-based social learning activities like parent-teacher training or mutual cooperation. In order to create better, more responsible people, it is intended that SMP PGRI Pekanbaru students will be better able to comprehend and practice character education. According to the findings of the conducted interviews, the school has responded well to the service projects that have been carried out.
