Abstract

A positive public image can enhance trust and interest in educational institutions. This study aims to examine: (1) the concept of public relations management, (2) the concept of institutional image, and (3) the implementation of public relations programs in building the institution's image. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving the principal, vice principal of public relations, students, alumni, and the community. Data were collected through interviews and observations, then analyzed through data condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the findings was verified through source and method triangulation. Results indicate that public relations management is conducted through several stages: (1) Planning is done at the beginning of the school year, aligning with the institution's vision, mission, and objectives; (2) Organizing involves collaboration across different departments; (3) Implementation adheres to principles of integration, sustainability, and honesty; and (4) Evaluation is routinely carried out by the internal public relations team. Furthermore, the public relations team works to build the institution's image by fostering trust and good relationships with local pesantren, providing optimal services to parents, and establishing institutional identity through flagship programs like "Sapa Tetangga" and "Bakti Bahrul Ulum." These programs not only enhance student engagement and talent development but also contribute to the positive image of Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan K.H. Abdul Wahab Hasbullah. Public relations play a crucial role in effectively communicating these initiatives to the public through various media platforms, both digital and traditional.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning quality, time management and social support on the academic achievement of postgraduate students of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The method used in analysing research data is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 80 students. The sampling technique used is Non Probability Sampling technique. The results showed the Wald test results with a significance value of learning quality of 0.000 and social support of 0.021 smaller than the value of the error rate of 0.05. While time management with a significance value of 0.348 is greater than the error rate value of 0.05, meaning that time management has no correlation and has no significant effect on student academic achievement. The odds ratio value of learning quality (X1) is 18.283, this indicates that learning quality has an influence of 18.283 times greater on student academic achievement. Then the Odds ratio value of social support (X3) is 3.061, this shows that the effect of social support on student academic achievement is 3.061 times greater than if there is no social support. Meanwhile, variable (X2), namely time management, has no influence on student academic achievement. This is caused by students who do not have self-management skills or the ability to manage time. The implications of learning quality can be seen from students' understanding of the material presented, honing the courage to express opinions, increasing confidence in answering or asking questions and mental readiness and competence. The implication of social support is to reduce student stress and psychological pressure that can affect their academic performance.

The results showed that Islamic boarding schools began to receive government attention after the enactment of Law No.20 of 2003 concerning the national education system, in which both institutions were recognized as religious education institutions. The position and existence of the institution became stronger after the enactment of Government Regulation No.55 of 2007 concerning religious and religious education. The implementation procedures have been listed in PMA Number 13 of 2014.  Equalization continues to be pursued through changes in existing policies to make pesantren and madrasah diniyah equal to other educational institutions, including the rights that must be obtained from the state. In 2019, Law No. 18/2019 was passed which was specifically prepared as an education policy in pesantren, with the main points regarding the form of institutions, the objectives and functions of pesantren, funding sources, and education quality assurance systems.
