Abstract

This research is a literature study which aims to examine the form of kyai leadership in modern Islamic boarding schools. This research data was taken from research results related to kyai leadership and modern Islamic boarding schools published in scientific journals and various reference books that are relevant to this research. The data in this research was collected through documentation techniques, then analyzed inductively. The research results show that Kyai choose a democratic leadership pattern in leading modern Islamic boarding schools. This is caused by several factors related to the effectiveness of Islamic boarding school development and leadership style.

Abstract

This study examines the crucial role of Rahmah El Yunusiyah in improving the quality of Islamic education in schools, emphasizing the contributions of her thought and practice, particularly for women. Rahmah, an educational figure from West Sumatra, is known as a pioneer of modern Islamic education that integrates Islamic values ​​with general knowledge and character building. Through the establishment of Diniyah Puteri Padang Panjang in 1923, she presented an innovative, values-based educational model, while simultaneously positioning women as active subjects in the teaching and learning process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method to explore Rahmah's ideas, strategies, and influence on the development of the Islamic education system. The results of the study indicate that Rahmah's thinking is able to encourage educational transformation through the implementation of a holistic curriculum, which not only teaches knowledge and skills but also emphasizes the development of noble morals. She also positions the role of women as educators and prime movers, thus opening up space for women's empowerment in the world of Islamic education. Furthermore, Rahmah El Yunusiyah's ideas are not only relevant in the historical context of her struggle but also serve as a valuable inspiration for the development of contemporary Islamic education. Her thinking provides a foundation for the creation of quality, inclusive, and gender-equitable Islamic education. By emphasizing that education is a means to improve the dignity and worth of women, Rahmah has succeeded in building a legacy that remains relevant today, especially in facing the challenges of globalization and the need for education that is humanistic and oriented towards Islamic values. Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas peran penting Rahmah El Yunusiyah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Islam di sekolah, dengan menekankan kontribusi pemikiran dan praksisnya, terutama bagi perempuan. Rahmah, tokoh pendidikan asal Sumatera Barat, dikenal sebagai pelopor pendidikan Islam modern yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman dengan ilmu pengetahuan umum serta pembentukan karakter. Melalui pendirian Diniyah Puteri Padang Panjang pada tahun 1923, ia menghadirkan model pendidikan yang inovatif dan berbasis nilai, sekaligus menempatkan perempuan sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi pustaka untuk menelusuri gagasan, strategi, dan pengaruh Rahmah terhadap perkembangan sistem pendidikan Islam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Rahmah mampu mendorong transformasi pendidikan melalui penerapan kurikulum yang holistik, yang tidak hanya mengajarkan ilmu pengetahuan dan keterampilan, tetapi juga menekankan pembinaan akhlak mulia. Ia juga menempatkan peran perempuan sebagai pendidik dan penggerak utama, sehingga membuka ruang bagi pemberdayaan perempuan dalam dunia pendidikan Islam. Lebih jauh, gagasan Rahmah El Yunusiyah tidak hanya relevan dalam konteks historis masa perjuangannya, tetapi juga menjadi inspirasi berharga dalam pengembangan pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Pemikirannya memberikan landasan bagi terciptanya pendidikan Islam yang bermutu, inklusif, dan berkeadilan gender. Dengan menegaskan bahwa pendidikan adalah sarana untuk meningkatkan harkat dan martabat perempuan, Rahmah berhasil membangun warisan yang tetap aktual hingga kini, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi dan kebutuhan akan pendidikan yang humanis serta berorientasi pada nilai-nilai keislaman.

Abstract

Learning evaluation is a crucial component of the educational process, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). It serves not only to assess the extent of students' achievement of learning objectives but also as a reflective tool for teachers to improve teaching methods, media, and strategies. However, many PAI teachers still face challenges in conducting evaluations manually, such as time-consuming calculations, potential errors, and limited technological proficiency. The use of Microsoft Excel offers an effective and efficient solution for these issues. Equipped with features like automatic formulas, tables, and charts, Excel helps teachers process student scores, analyze learning outcomes, and prepare systematic and accurate reports. Moreover, Excel utilization supports the development of teachers' digital literacy, aligning with 21st-century education demands and the "Merdeka Belajar" (Freedom to Learn) policy. This research employs a library research method to explore the concepts, challenges, and benefits of using Excel in PAI learning evaluation, aiming to provide practical insights for improving the quality and effectiveness of evaluation in schools.

Abstract

Educational supervision is a crucial component in efforts to improve the quality of learning and develop teacher professionalism in educational institutions. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of educational supervision, encompassing its definition, objectives, functions, principles, types, and the roles of principals and supervisors in its implementation. Using a qualitative method with a literature study approach, data were obtained through analysis of various relevant literature, books, and documents. The study results indicate that educational supervision is not merely administrative oversight, but rather a form of ongoing professional development. Supervision must be conducted with scientific, democratic, cooperative, constructive, practical, objective, and sustainable principles. Types of supervision include academic, administrative, clinical, and individual and group supervision. Principals and supervisors play a strategic role in implementing humanistic and communicative supervision, thereby encouraging teachers to improve their competence and the quality of the learning process and outcomes. Therefore, a proper understanding and implementation of the concept of educational supervision is essential to support the improvement of educational quality in schools.

Abstract

National Education Standards are minimum criteria regarding the education system in all jurisdictions of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The policy on National Education Standards is contained in Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005. This regulation is an elaboration of Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System. And along with the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, the policy changed to Government Regulation Number 32 of 2013 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 19 of 2005 concerning National Education Standards. The National Education Standards contain 8 minimum criteria which include: graduate competency standards, content standards, process standards, teacher and education personnel standards, facilities and infrastructure standards, management standards, financing standards, education assessment standards.
