Abstract

The success of managing the forest management unit cannot be separated from the availability of human resources.  The purpose of this study is to study the implications of the issuance of Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government on Human Resources in the Gedong Wani Production Forest Management Unit. Data obtained through interviews and library studio analyzed descriptively qualitative.  The results showed that there have been changes in human resources in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) KPHP Gedong Wani.  In addition, there are also several inhibiting and supporting factors in its application. The most important implication is an increase in human resources both in quantity and quality due to the transfer of authory from the center to the regions.  Education and training are still needed to guarantee and improve the quality of human resources in the UPTD KPHP Gedong Wani.

Abstract

University of Lampung (Unila) is one of the Green Open Space (GOS) in Bandar Lampung City which has vegetation. Vegetation in green open space has a role as a wildlife habitat for example birds. Various bird species can be indicators of the quality of open green space at the University of Lampung. This research was conducted to determine the diversity of bird species and as an indicator in determining the index of green space quality at the Unila Campus. Research is conducted from November 2016 to March 2017 and December 2018. The study was conducted at the Unila Campus which is divided into eight blocks. An inventory of the diversity of bird species carried out with concentrated observations in eight blocks. The value of diversity of bird species uses an analysis of shannon-wienner heterogeneity index value and the quality of green open space through the calculation of green space quality index values. Based on the results of the study there were 20 species of birds on the Unila campus. The diversity index of bird species is classified as moderate (H '= 2.74). The GOS quality index at the Unila Campus is 59.2 with the intermediate category.

Abstract

The Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) has a large body causing the elephant to require very much feed. Age and weight affect the need for the number of parent and child feed. Eating behaviors both in the cage and in the wild include the movement of picking, cutting and chewing. Knowledge of the proportion of the eating behavior of parents and children of elephants will be useful as a reference in the efforts to preserve the Sumatran elephant population in both Insitu and exsitu conservation activities. The aim of the study is to determine the proportion of the daily eating behavior of Sumatran elephants for 24 hours. The research was held in April 2019 at the Elephant response Unit (ERU) Tegal Yoso National Park Way Kambas. The method used is a sampling scan method by calculating the average and percentage values that are in use Microsoft Excel 2007 which will be displayed in the form of graphs and analyses in a descriptive. The results of research data showed that the percentage of behavior is greater than the parent in comparison of children (42.24%) and (28%) With feed that is in the can of natural feed or condensuration and additional feed in the cage. The proportion of feeding to two elephants in the morning to late afternoon (53.93%) Parent and (42.59%) Children. Furthermore, in the afternoon until the morning of the day (30.55%) Parent and (13.42%) Children.

Abstract

Macaques Forest Tourism Park is a green open space area that in 2007 was prepared as a resort where there are macaques there. TWHK was a habitat for macaques which lied in the middle of Bandar Lampung city. This research was conducted to determine the number of indivudual population of macaques, sex ratio and age range as well as the factors that impact the populations. This research used concentration count and interview method towards people around the research location during July 2017, from 7 o’clock in the morning till the evening. The research used habituation. The concentration count method was conducted in 3 locations where macaques often seen. There were 53 individuals of macaques. The macaques sex ration and age range for old male macaques were 8 individuals, old female macaques were 16 individuals, teens/ young macaques were 24 individuals, and baby macaques were 5 individuals.

Abstract

A monkey forest tourism park is a tourist attraction whose function is to preserve the long tailed monkey’s (Macaca fascicularis) population and to benefit it as a tourist attraction. The research was taking place at the Monkey Forest Tourism Park/Taman Wisata Hutan Kera (TWHK) Bandar Lampung in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province, in November 2018. This study objective was to understand he interaction between monkeys and tourists influence the daily activities of long-tailed monkeys, by etermining the behavior of eating, resting, and moving. The dialy tourist presence was observed in order to analyse this impact to anaimal behavior. Observations in this research were carried out using the scan sampling method by observing and recording continuously the daily behavior over a certain period of time. The research was conducted in the period of time at 6:00 AM to 18:00 PM WIB with intervals observation time for 30 minutes for 14 consecutive days. The results showed 50% switching behavior, 31% resting, and 19% eating of all daily behavior. Factors that influence the most dominant behavior are the presence of natural food in TWHKis very small and the dependence of long-tailed monkeys to receive food from tourists. A long-tailed monkey’s natural food source at TWHK is the main factor influencing behavior change. The research implication is the enrichment of feed sources both type and amount of feed is important in TWHK
