The younger generation is the future successor of leadership in God’s church. For this reason, it is necessary to prepare by conducting education from an early age. The research method used is qualitative research with theological studies by utilizing the Bible and literature according to the subject matter, then analyzed and presented descriptively. Thus, a true and strong foundation will be laid for the spiritual growth of the younger generation, so that they become like Christ to do God’s will in their time. The education of the younger generation includes the example of leaders, teaching God’s Word, fellowship with brothers and sisters and also involvement in ministry in the church and community. So that the church can be a witness for Christ throughout the ages.

Abstract

Misinterpretations of 1 Corinthians 10:13 are common in the modern Christian tradition, especially when the verse is understood as a guarantee of total freedom from suffering. An overly literal interpretation of the phrase "God will not let you be tempted beyond your strength" has the potential to lead to unrealistic expectations and spiritual disappointment, especially when people face severe trials. This study aims to explore the original meaning of 1 Corinthians 10:13 through a hermeneutic and theological approach, by analyzing the biblical text in its historical, literary, and sociocultural context. This study was conducted using a qualitative method with a literature study approach, which refers to the works of leading theologians. The results of the analysis show that this verse does not promise the elimination of suffering, but affirms God's faithfulness in providing strength and a way out (ekbasis) for His people to survive in the midst of trials. This study provides a new contribution to the study of hermeneutics with a comprehensive approach to the context of the Corinthian congregation, so that it can correct various theological misunderstandings that have developed in the church today. The pastoral implications of a proper interpretation of this verse are also relevant to strengthening the faith of Christians and the ministry of the church in facing challenges of faith. Thus, this study is expected to be a reference for the development of a more contextual theology, while also helping Christians understand trials as part of the journey of faith accompanied by a faithful God.AbstrakKesalahan tafsir terhadap 1 Korintus 10:13 sering kali terjadi dalam tradisi Kristen modern, terutama ketika ayat ini dipahami sebagai jaminan kebebasan total dari penderitaan.

Abstract

Sustainable church leadership is a pressing challenge for many local congregations amid rapid social and technological changes. The core issue addressed in this study is the absence of a structured mentoring strategy for nurturing prospective spiritual leaders, resulting in stagnation within the church’s leadership pipeline. The purpose of this study is to develop a leadership mentoring model based on Jesus Christ’s discipleship pattern as depicted in the Gospel of Mark, providing a relevant and applicable framework for local church contexts. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach combined with exegetical analysis of Mark 1:16–20, 3:13–19, 6:7–13, and 16:15–18. The data were collected through a systematic review of biblical texts, and analyzed exegetically to identify the key stages and dynamics of Jesus’ mentoring of the disciples. The results reveal four distinct phases of the mentoring process: a divine call, character formation, active ministry engagement, and commissioning for global mission. In conclusion, these findings form the basis for the LEAD (Locate, Empower, Act, Deploy) mentoring model, offering a structured and practical approach for local churches to cultivate spiritually mature leaders who are both mission-ready and capable of reproducing this discipleship process across generations.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of grace in Titus 2:11–12 by comparing it with the role of the Torah in shaping the spiritual life of contemporary congregations. Using a historical-grammatical exegetical approach and theological literature review, the research explores the meaning of grace within the Cretan cultural context and how it can be actualized in today's church communities. The findings reveal that grace in Christ not only offers forgiveness of sins but also acts as a transformative power that shapes Christ-like character and fosters a holy life. Grace transcends the limitations of the Torah, which merely exposes sin without empowering obedience. This study highlights how grace contributes to forming an inclusive, dynamic, and spiritually growth-oriented church community. As a new contribution, this research expands the understanding of grace beyond the individual level to include its collective role in shaping church communities. Practical implications include developing grace-based ministry programs, enhancing teaching effectiveness, and empowering believers to serve as an active response to God's love.
