Abstract

The nuggets sold in the market are usually made from chicken or beef. However, processed nugget products made from animal protein, namely using chicken and beef, have a high fat content and low fiber, therefore it is necessary to innovate by diversifying animal-based foods with plant-based foods in processed nuggets. This study aims to determine the acceptability of tempe nuggets with the addition of oyster mushrooms as an alternative food to replace meat. The method used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) which consisted of three treatment levels: P0 = 100% tempeh; P1 = 75% tempe : 25% oyster mushrooms; P2 = 50% tempe : 50% oyster mushrooms; P3 = 25% tempe : 75% oyster mushrooms. Tempe nuggets power test with the addition of oyster mushrooms was carried out using an organoleptic test consisting of 20 panelists with a numerical scale of 5 = very like; 4 = likes; 3 = somewhat like (ordinary); 2=dislike and 1=dislike very much. The P2 treatment, namely 50% tempeh and 50% oyster mushrooms, had the panelist's average preference for taste, aroma, texture and friability of tempeh nuget with the highest value. This could be because the composition might be very good when compared to other compositions.

Abstract

Red chilies known as Capsicum annuum L., hold significant importance as horticulture crops in Indonesia. The production of red chilies begins with the planting of seeds, making seed health a crucial factor in the process. Seeds contaminated with pathogens can serve as a reservoir for the transmission of diseases in the field, leading to the demise of seedlings and hindering their growth into fully mature plants, ultimately resulting in crop failure. This study used the blotter test technique to ascertain the morphology of a seed-borne pathogenic fungus. The research findings indicated that the blotter test technique detected four isolates of seed-borne pathogenic fungus, specifically TMIA with an infection rate of 0.5%, TMIB with an infection rate of 0.5%, TMIC with an infection rate of 2.5%, and TMIE with an infection rate of 3%. A single isolate of a seed-borne pathogenic fungus, named SRIA, was obtained from Sidodadi Ramunia village. The infection rate of this fungus was determined to be 0.5%. The chili seeds recovered were found to carry pathogenic fungal isolates belonging to Aspergillus sp., Penicillium sp., Verticillium sp., and Curvularia sp. based on morphological identification

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays L. var. saccharata) is a variety of corn that differs from regular corn due to its sweet taste, which is caused by its high sugar content. The productivity of sweet corn in the country is still low compared to other producing countries. The application of humic acid soil conditioner can enhance the absorption of micro and macro elements in plants. Humic acid can also improve plant growth by increasing bioavailability and nutrients through soil environment improvement around the roots. This study aims to determine the effect of humic acid soil conditioner and the appropriate dosage on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatment levels: (H0: without humic acid soil conditioner (control), H1: 5 kg/ha, H2: 10 kg/ha, H3: 15 kg/ha). The results showed that the application of humic acid soil conditioner can increase plant height, cob diameter, and cob length of sweet corn. The best dosage of humic acid organic fertilizer for the growth and yield of sweet corn is 15 kg/ha. Keywords : sweet corn, soil conditioner, humic acid

Abstract

Seed-borne fungi are fungi that are associated with seeds and can be a source of plant disease in the field. Therefore, this study aims to utilize DNA barcoding to identify seed-borne fungi isolates from Tanjung Morawa B village. This investigation took place at Tangerang's genetic science laboratory in Tangerang was the site of this investigation. Sequence and phylogenic tree building, PCR amplification with MyTaq HS Red Mix, 2X (Bioline, BIO-25048), and genomic DNA extraction with the Quick-DNA Magbead Plus Kit (Zymo Research, D4082) were the research methods used. The electrophoresis results showed that the DNA made from PCR using Primers ITS-1 and ITS-4 was of high quality. This was clear from the electrophorograms for both the TMIE isolate sample and the control. Using ITS-1 and ITS-4 for DNA amplification produced favorable results, with virtually no smears detected. The Basic Local Alignment and Search Tool (BLAST) program, which is connected to the Genebank database, was employed to analyze the sequence results in the form of a base sequence with a length of 581 base pairs. Based on the genetic similarity results of the isolate's DNA with Genebank, we determined that the TMIE isolate was 100% similar to Curvularia eragrostidis.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi dari banyaknya bermunculan tulisan generasi muda yang bersifat negatif dan tidak sesuai dengan kaedah penulisan yang baik dan benar di berbagai media digital, hal ini tentunya memperihatinkan masyarakat, sehingga tim pengabdian dari Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sumatera Utara memiliki inisiatif untuk melakukan kegiatan pengabdian berupa workshop pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan minat dan kemampuan serta keterampilan menulis siswa sebagai generasi muda. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian adalah partisapatif, interkatif dan pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini diukur dengan menggunakan kuesioner, aktivitas menulis siswa setelah kegiatan pengabdian dari total keseluruhan setuju berjumlah 246 responden, Ini meningkat dari jawaban setuju sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan yang berjumlah 205 responden. Kedua, tingkat pemahaman siswa terkait dengan isi tulisan atau pesan yang disampaikan di ruang media menunjukkan adanya peningktan setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan. Dampak tulisan negatif dapat membuat orang menjadi khawatir dengan skor 47 atau naik 14 point dari skor sebelunya sebesar 34. Ketiga, peningakatan pemanfaatan dalam menulis di media digital, indikator tersebut ditujukan pada pernyataan bahwa tulisan yang dibuat di internet akan dibaca oleh orang lain dengan skor setuju 56 jika dibandingan sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan yang hanya 11.
