Abstract

The management of water resources in the Batang Hari River faces significant challenges due to human activities and environmental changes. Empowering local communities is crucial to ensuring the sustainability of river resource management. This service activity aims to involve the community in collaboratively managing water resources (Batang Hari River) affected by ongoing degradation through a partnership network (stakeholders) to minimize challenges and formulate solutions for sustainable community empowerment in river resource management. The activities involve several partners and stakeholders, including the Korea-Indonesia Forest Cooperation Centre (KIFC), the Fish Hatchery Center of Muaro Jambi Regency, KJA farmers, academics, and the community of Rantau Panjang Village in Muaro Jambi Regency. The method used in this activity is a participatory approach through direct discussions, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and qualitative data analysis. From the activities conducted, through workshops and participatory approaches, community awareness and participation in water resource management have significantly increased. Additionally, the community has developed new skills in sustainable resource management, and cooperation among stakeholders has been strengthened. This activity emphasizes the importance of community empowerment in achieving sustainable river resource management, contributing to environmental sustainability and the welfare of the local community.

Abstract

Waste remains a major issue in Bangka Regency. To address this, a community service program was conducted through the empowerment of Bank Sampah Karya Mandiri in Karya Makmur Village. The program aimed to enhance public awareness and waste management capabilities through digital education and the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based management system. Activities included discussions with partners, development of an information system and IoT-based digital scales, training for waste bank managers, and community education. A dedicated website was created as an information and promotional platform, while the IoT-based scale enabled automatic and accurate waste transaction records. Evaluation was conducted using questionnaires completed by 38 respondents. Results showed a 90% improvement in management capabilities and a 91% increase in market strategy effectiveness. These outcomes indicate that the implemented system effectively improves operational efficiency and community understanding of the economic value of waste. The program positively impacted partner self-reliance and opened opportunities for further technology-based development. Continued monitoring and assistance are recommended to ensure sustainability. Abstrak Sampah masih menjadi permasalahan utama di Kabupaten Bangka. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pemberdayaan Bank Sampah Karya Mandiri di Desa Karya Makmur. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan kemampuan pengelolaan sampah melalui edukasi digital dan penerapan sistem manajemen berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Tahapan kegiatan meliputi diskusi dengan mitra, pengembangan sistem informasi dan timbangan digital IoT, pelatihan pengelola, serta edukasi masyarakat. Website bank sampah dikembangkan sebagai sarana informasi dan promosi, sementara timbangan IoT memungkinkan pencatatan transaksi secara otomatis dan akurat. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui kuesioner yang diisi oleh 38 responden. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 90% pada aspek kemampuan manajemen dan 91% pada aspek strategi pasar. Capaian ini menunjukkan sistem yang dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap nilai ekonomi sampah. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemandirian mitra dalam mengelola sampah dan membuka peluang pengembangan lanjutan berbasis teknologi. Monitoring dan pendampingan lanjutan disarankan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan sistem. Kata Kunci: bank sampah; IoT; edukasi digital; pemberdayaan masyarakat

Abstract

Nyemil Beauty, UMKM kuliner kontemporer, menghadapi tantangan serius karena pencatatan transaksi manual yang tidak efisien, memperlambat operasional, rentan kesalahan, dan risiko kehilangan data inventaris. Urgensi ini mendorong studi untuk merancang dan mengembangkan aplikasi Point of Sale (POS) berbasis Android.Aplikasi ini bertujuan mengotomatisasi pengelolaan transaksi, data produk, dan laporan penjualan UMKM. Pengembangan menggunakan metode Agile, dengan perancangan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan diagram, dan implementasi menggunakan Android Studio, bahasa Kotlin, serta basis data SQLite.Fitur utama aplikasi mencakup pencatatan produk dan transaksi, serta pembuatan laporan penjualan digital. Hasil pengujian pengguna menunjukkan penerimaan positif: 41,87% sangat baik, 55,25% baik, dan 2,5% cukup. Aplikasi POS berbasis Android ini berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi transaksi penjualan di Nyemil Beauty, terbukti mudah digunakan, andal, dan menyediakan solusi permanen atas masalah pencatatan manual.
