Abstract

Urticaria is a cutaneous reaction characterized by well-defined borders, occurring in the superficial epidermis, manifesting as wheals, erythematous and elevated lesions measuring 1-2 mm to several hours, accompanied by intense itching. In the Bioethics perspective, four fundamental principles are identified: Beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice. From an Islamic perspective, Maqasid al-Sharia contains five values: Hifz ad din, hifz an nafs, hifz al maal, hifz al nasl, and hifz al aql. From the fiqh perspective, there are five maxims: Al umuru bi maqashida, al-dhararu yuzalu, Al masyaqqah tajlibut, Al yaqinu la yuzalu bi syaq, and Al adatu muhakkamah. Fundamental beliefs or convictions serve as a cornerstone for an individual's attitudes. These principles can be applied according to the prevailing circumstances, particularly in the field of healthcare. Based on a case report: A 40-year-old man presented to the Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Clinic with generalized pruritic rash and bilateral swelling of the lips and eyelids since 1 day ago, occurring simultaneously. The patient was diagnosed with urticarial rash on the trunk region with angioedema of the lips and eyelids due to COVID-19 pneumonia infection. The patient's management included oral Desloratadine 5 mg, Favipiravir 600 mg, and Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg. The conclusion drawn from this case is that the patient received treatment in accordance with medical indications. Ethical considerations based on the case include autonomy and justice. From an Islamic perspective, Maqasid al-Sharia fulfills the value of Hifz al-Nafs, and from a fiqh standpoint, it adheres to the maxim of al-masyaqqah tajlibu al-taysir.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that causes infections that must be treated with antibiotics. Another alternative that can be done to deal with this resistance is to use herbal ingredients as the basis for therapy. The development of research on natural ingredients as antibacterials shows that there are plants that have the potential to act as antibacterial agents. Fig leaves or figs (Ficus carica L.) are a plant that has the potential to be an antioxidant, antiviral, anthelmintic and antibacterial. Fig leaf extract (Ficus carica L.) shows antibacterial activity against the growth of several bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. This literature aims to determine the effect of fig leaves as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This literature uses a literature review method with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol. Scientific articles or journals downloaded from PubMed, Garuda Portal, and Google Scholar with SINTA accreditation standards in the 2020-2023 time period found 430 articles in the search results. All articles were selected based on the inclusion criteria, resulting in 20 research articles that would be reviewed. The antibacterial potential of fig leaves in the inhibition zone uses ethanol compounds, phenolic flavonoids, ethyl acetate, nickel oxide nanoparticles and Calcium Oxide Phyto-Nanoparticles (CaONPs) which have been proven effective in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococus aureus. Fig leaves are effectively used as an antibacterial for Staphylococcus aureus, showing that they can prevent the growth of bacteria with several compounds contained therein such as Ethanol extract, Phenolic Flavonoids, Ethyl Acetate, Nickel Oxide Nano Particles and Calcium Oxide Phyto-Nanoparticles (CaONPs) which have antibacterial properties.

Abstract

A Muslim doctor has obligation to study well matters related to religion and the medical profession in which they are involved. Islamic Discipline of Science Medicine (IDIK) is one part of the integrated medical professional study program parts of the clinic. One of the programs from IDIK is do muhasabah daily . In method muhasabah daily ( assessment self ), student given containing form​ statements related the concept of worship and morals daily as well as interaction with Koran and Hadith. Muhasabah can be interpreted as self-reflection , pondering here is someone's attempt to make a change, namely: introspection self/be aware of something that has happened they do in their lives, so someone is capable of making improvements, and maximum improvement. Method study This nature qualitative with take background Faculty Indonesian Muslim University Medicine as location study . As for the results study show that activity muhasabah self has show positive results​ in the process of suing knowledge and doing activity daily as a student medical education profession. .

Abstract

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are an important health problem, especially among adolescents. who are vulnerable to risk due to lack of knowledge. The increase in the number of incident sexually transmitted diseases worldwide have been observed in the 15-24 age group. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) , more from One million infection infectious sexual diagnosed every day around the world. Teenagers is a transition period that requires special attention and protection. This study aims to identify the description of students' knowledge of SMA Negeri 3 Luwu regarding sexually transmitted diseases in Larompong District, Luwu Regency, including the definition, types, signs and symptoms , transmission methods, risk factors, complications, and prevention. This study uses method descriptive with approach cross-sectional . The results of the study showed that the level of knowledge students ( i ) vary, with a good understanding of the meaning, symptoms, and prevention of STDs, as well as sufficient understanding about types and complications of STDs, but there is still a lack of understanding of the modes of transmission and risk factors associated with STDs . In general general majority student ( i ) has sufficient knowledge until good , but Still there is a number of aspect necessary knowledge improved . These findings indicate the importance of more intensive outreach and a comprehensive educational approach to increase knowledge and change behavior. student ( i ) use lower incidence PMS.

Abstract

Metode pembelajaran di fakultas kedokteran terus berkembang untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa. Sistem SPICES diterapkan dengan berbagai metode seperti perkuliahan, diskusi, PBL, dan Clinical Skill Lab. Kajian ini diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas metode pembelajaran di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muslim Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas metode kegiatan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dasar ilmu kedokteran pada mahasiswa, serta untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap kendala yang dialami dalam metode kegiatan pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa memberikan persepsi setuju terhadap metode pembelajaran kuliah, praktikum, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Clinical Skill Lab, dan observasi lapangan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode-metode tersebut efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dasar ilmu kedokteran. Meskipun sebagian besar mahasiswa setuju dengan efektivitas metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan, terdapat beberapa kendala yang masih dirasakan, terutama dalam metode praktikum, PBL, dan observasi lapangan. Beberapa mahasiswa menyatakan kurang optimalnya pelaksanaan metode tersebut, mencerminkan adanya tantangan yang perlu dievaluasi lebih lanjut. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Muslim Indonesia secara umum efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dasar ilmu kedokteran, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh mayoritas persepsi positif mahasiswa. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaan metode praktikum, PBL, dan observasi lapangan yang perlu dievaluasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di masa depan.
