Abstract

Impact of Maintenance and Operation of Oily Water Separators in Efforts to Prevent Marine Pollution by Oil from Ships. Environmental cleanliness is currently being given special attention by both developed and developing countries, and therefore has resulted in many regulations to maintain the balance of the ecosystem of life in this world. This imbalance can cause damage to the ecosystem due to pollution, one of which occurs in the ocean. This pollution is caused, among other things, by oil spills, toxic liquids, dangerous substances carried by sea in the form of packaging, rubbish from ships and air pollution. The aim of this research is to find out the pressure or procedures for operating the Oily Water Separator (OWS) aircraft correctly and according to procedures, as well as to find out how to maintain and repair the Oily Water Separator (OWS) aircraft, and why oily water planned operations may not occur. Separator (OWS). The method used in research is descriptive method. The data in this research were obtained from observations on the ship, documents obtained when conducting research on the ship, and from interviews. From the results of this research, data was obtained that against the background of the impact of maintenance and operation of the Oily Water Separator (OWS) in an effort to prevent marine pollution by oil from ships, it was stated that problems were discovered when carrying out research on the Oil Water Separator itself. The lack of air pressure would disrupt its operation. a three-way valve, as a whole, will disrupt the working system of the Oily Water Separator (OWS) water and oil separator. If the Oil Level Sensor which detects oil is found to be not working properly, it must be replaced with spare parts available on the ship. Apart from that, there is no regular operation of the Oil Water Separator, because problems arise on an aircraft because the operator does not carry out standard operating procedures. . To support work programs that comply with regulations, in this case it is necessary to standardize fundamentally and thoroughly regarding the implementation of standard operating procedures and be guided by the company's manual instruction book or PMS.

Abstract

Efficient water management in agriculture is crucial due to dynamic environmental conditions and increasing resource scarcity. Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is widely applied in irrigation control for its ability to handle uncertaintys using rule-based domain knowledge. However, conventional FIS lacks adaptability to environmental changes, limiting its long-term accuracy and responsiveness. Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) addresses this limitation by combining fuzzy logic with neural network learning, enabling automatic adjustment of model parameters based on data patterns. This study compares the performance of FIS and ANFIS in predicting optimal irrigation levels based on soil moisture, air temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation. A synthetic dataset of 1,000 samples simulating realistic agricultural conditions was generated and normalized to improve computational consistency. The FIS model uses triangular membership functions and five expert-defined fuzzy rules, while ANFIS employs Gaussian membership functions with parameters optimized using the ADAM algorithm over 50 training epochs. Results show that ANFIS outperforms FIS, lowering RMSE from 0.13 to 0.07, halving MAE from 0.10 to 0.05, and increasing R² from 0.85 to 0.93, indicating a substantially better predictive performance. This study demonstrates that ANFIS is more adaptive, accurate, and computationally efficient, contributing to the advancement of intelligent and sustainable irrigation systems in precision agriculture.

Abstract

Laboratory incidents are often precipitated by misplacement of hazardous materials and delayed recognition of unsafe conditions. Earlier laboratory safety solutions typically centered on sensors and dashboards, including IoT monitoring, improve situational awareness but remain largely reactive, operate at room/building scale, seldom enforce item-level storage rules, and rarely report alert selectivity (false-alarm behaviour). This work presents a compact prototype that combines RFID-based storage-zone verification with environmental sensing to support Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) compliance at the storage-unit level. An ESP32-based controller integrates three RFID readers (low/medium/high-risk compartments) with temperature humidity and gas sensors; data are streamed to an IoT interface for real-time visualization and notification (e.g., implemented via Blynk), while rule-based logic triggers local (buzzer) and remote alerts when a tagged item is placed in the wrong zone or thresholds are exceeded. A scenario-driven evaluation across 18 cases (correct/mismatched placements for representative items) yielded 100% RFID tag detection and placement validation, an average response time of 2.37 s, and no false alarms under correct placements. These results indicate that joining placement verification with multi-sensor monitoring provides selective, low-latency warnings while avoiding nuisance alerts, establishing quantitative baselines for scalable smart-laboratory HSSE enforcement.

Abstract

Website security is a crucial aspect in the face of increasing cyber threats. This study aims to implement website protection using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and HAProxy (High Availability Proxy) through a PFSense router, and to evaluate its effectiveness using the securityheaders.com platform. The methodology used is an experimental study with a reverse proxy server configuration based on HAProxy and SSL certificates from Let's Encrypt. Measurement results indicate an improvement in the website's security score after the configuration was applied, particularly in security headers such as Strict-Transport-Security, X-Frame-Options, and Content-Security-Policy. This research contributes to strengthening web security architecture that is simple, efficient, and openly adoptable by government institutions and medium-scale organizations that require open-source-based security solutions.

Abstract

Abstract. The advancement of broadcasting technology has driven the demand for reliable and efficient automation systems, particularly in managing the transition from broadcast content to advertisement segments. In this context, the present study proposes the application of the Single Tone Trigger (STT) method as an automatic triggering mechanism to systematically regulate content switching. This method utilizes a single-frequency audio signal embedded within the primary broadcast, which can be detected by the receiving system. The detection of this signal initiates an automatic content transition without requiring intervention from playout operators. A key advantage of this approach lies in its ease of integration with conventional broadcasting systems and its ability to reduce manual involvement that has traditionally been essential in broadcast content management. Through a series of tests, the system demonstrated high signal detection accuracy, low latency, and optimal operational reliability. These findings indicate that the Single Tone Trigger method can significantly enhance workflow efficiency within the broadcasting industry. Overall, this approach presents substantial potential for broad implementation as an automation solution that is not only stable and cost-effective, but also adaptive to the operational demands of modern broadcasting.   Keywords: Automatic Transition, Broadcast Automation, Single Tone Trigger (STT).

Abstract

This study proposes an optimization model integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning (ML) for renewable energy-powered aeroponic systems as a conceptual framework to enhance sustainable agriculture and address global food security challenges. The model is designed to mitigate land degradation, water scarcity, and the impacts of climate variability on crop productivity. It combines IoT-based real-time monitoring of key environmental variables temperature, humidity, pH, electrical conductivity, and light intensity with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks for time-series prediction of crop growth and resource requirements. Renewable energy sources, particularly solar photovoltaic systems with battery storage, ensure reliable and environmentally friendly power supply. The proposed approach emphasizes predictive optimization, where IoT data streams inform adaptive LSTM algorithms for precise irrigation and nutrient control. Model performance is evaluated using Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and coefficient of determination (R²). Although the study remains conceptual and simulation-based, validation results demonstrate high predictive accuracy and efficiency. This research establishes a foundational framework for subsequent prototype development, experimental validation, and techno-economic evaluation toward scalable, energy-efficient, and sustainable smart farming systems.
