Abstract

One of the problems faced by the world of education lately is the decline in social life manners and moral ethics in the practice of school life. Various ethical violations that occur in school institutions highlight the important role of ethical leadership in school institutions. The seeds of ethical violations in schools if not eliminated will become habits and do not rule out the possibility of giving birth to leaders who are smart but do not have ethics and morals in managing ethical accountability. The purpose of this study was to elucidate ethical leadership in educational institutions. The research method used is a literature review method of literature study with a type of descriptive research. The findings show that the task of ethical leadership in educations is to enable students to develop confidence and appreciation for facts and skills. The approach used is to insert moral values in every rule of teaching facts and skills in every subject in school. Because if not, then one day there will arise in society smart leaders but do not live up to religious teachings.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the quality of Boer goat spermatozoa when stored at 5°C in a duck egg yolk-tris diluent supplemented with propolis extract. The material used was fresh semen collected from ±2-year-old Boer goats using an artificial vagina. This research employed a laboratory experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of four propolis extract treatments: 0% (T0), 0.25% (T1), 0.5% (T2), and 1% (T3), with five replications. Observed variables included motility, viability, and abnormality. Observations were conducted every day at the same time. Data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and subsequently tested with Duncan's multiple range test. The research results indicate that the best average sperm motility was found in T1, at 54.40±11.14%, followed by T0 at 41.00±12.36%, T2 at 40.40±11.76%, and T3 at 39.60±2.88%. The highest sperm viability was observed in T1, 58.40±6.06%, followed by T3, 49.20±4.65%, T2, 45.60±9.04%, and T0, 44.00±6.85%. The lowest sperm abnormality was found in T1, 4.60±1.87%, followed by T2, 6.00±1.87%, T3, 5.80±4.81%, and T0, 5.00±2.44%. In conclusion, among the four different diluents, the addition of 0.25% propolis extract in Tris-diluted egg yolk diluent showed the highest ability to maintain the quality of Boer goat spermatozoa for three days at a storage temperature of 5°C. Further studies are needed on the effects of different concentrations of propolis extract, various egg yolks, and different temperatures Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the durability of standard extender tris egg yolk supplemented with non-enzymatic antioxidants from guava and fig fruit filtrate on the motility and viability of Boer buck sperm. Semen was collected using an artificial vagina every four days for ten replications. The treatment extenders were Tris+2.5% egg yolk (P0) and P0+1.487 mg vitamin A and P0+3.958 mg vitamin C per ml/100 ml (v/v) hereinafter referred as P1 and P2, respectively. The experimental design was a completely randomized 3 times 10 a factorial pattern. The variables assessed were individual motility, progessive motility and viability of sperm evaluated every day for 4 consecutive days. Result indicated that, 4 days after extended and stored at 5C, the average individual motility, progessive motility and sperm viability were 45.27.94; 33.010.2 and 49.67.69 for P1, and 45.46.14; 30.48.38 and 50.55.88 for P2. The data on the three indicators of sperm quality between P1 and P2 did not show a significant difference (P0.05). While for P0 30.65.85; 24.67.30 and 40.75.77, respectively, and were significantly lower (P 0.05) than P0 or P1. It was concluded that semen extended using tris-egg yolk extender supplemented with vitamin A or C could still be used for Artificial Insemination until day 4 after extended and storage at 5C. It is suggested that research needs to be done to produce a ready to use, simple preaparation, cheap and long lasting instant extender.
