Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Accountability in Islamic education is a crucial aspect in ensuring transparent, efficient, and accountable financing management. The background of this study is the gap between accountability theory and financial management practices in Islamic educational institutions that are still not optimal. The purpose of this study is to analyze the theory and concept of accountability and examine its implications in the practice of Islamic educational financing management. The main problem in this study is how the implementation of accountability can strengthen the governance of financing in Islamic educational institutions. The method used is a qualitative approach based on literature studies and literature analysis from accredited scientific journals, combined with case studies in several Islamic educational institutions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of accountability principles such as transparency, participation, and accountability is very influential in increasing public trust and the effectiveness of the use of educational funds. This study concludes that accountability based on Islamic values can be used as a foundation for strengthening sustainable education financing management.

Abstract

Metabolomic techniques represent an analytical strategy that supports the discovery of natural product-based drugs, including antihypertensive agents. This article aims to review various metabolomic techniques and approaches used to identify and characterize bioactive compounds in medicinal plants, highlighting two primary strategies: (1) plant metabolite profiling to identify potential bioactive biomarkers, and (2) analysis of endogenous metabolite changes in biological samples from hypertensive models treated with plant-based interventions. Literature was searched through databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar using relevant keywords. This review focuses on analytical methods such as LC-MS, NMR, and HPLC, data processing strategies including PCA, PLS-DA, and OPLS, and the integration of metabolomic techniques in the validation and exploration of plant-derived antihypertensive compounds. The findings demonstrate that metabolomic approaches significantly contribute to accelerating natural drug discovery by identifying biomarkers and elucidating mechanisms of action through related endogenous metabolic pathways.

Abstract

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated by chronic kidney disease (CKD) are particularly vulnerable to drug-related problems (DRPs) as a result of altered pharmacokinetics, polypharmacy, and declining renal function. In this population, the practice of self-medication using over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is common and often not disclosed to healthcare professionals, causing many DRPs to remain undetected in routine clinical care. This systematic review aims to summarize the scientific evidence regarding the prevalence of self-medication among patients with T2DM and CKD and to examine the relationship between self-medication behavior, patient perception, and the occurrence of unidentified DRPs. A comprehensive search of major scientific databases identified twenty-three observational studies published between 2020 and 2025 that met the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal a high prevalence of OTC and CAM use, particularly analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, dietary supplements, and herbal products. Frequently reported unidentified DRPs included inappropriate dosing adjustments for renal impairment, potential drug–drug and drug–herb interactions, the use of nephrotoxic agents, and instances of duplicate therapy. Contributing factors to these unidentified DRPs were non-disclosure of self-medication practices, low levels of medication literacy, polypharmacy, and the lack of structured medication review in clinical settings. Overall, self-medication with OTC drugs and CAM represents a significant and underrecognized source of DRPs in patients with T2DM and CKD, emphasizing the need for proactive medication reconciliation processes and pharmacist-led interventions to improve medication safety and patient outcomes.
