Data collection techniques in this study were carried out using surveys/ interviews directly with respondents using questionnaires that had been tested for validity. Data analysis consists of univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of the analysis showed that the Bivariate test obtained by Paired t-test 1 simple test was known to have differences in parental knowledge about handling due to the handling of children who fell obtained a P-value of 0.003 (<0.05) then Ho was rejected

Abstract

A traffic accident is an unexpected and unintentional road event involving a vehicle with or without other road users that results in human casualties and property damage (UU RI, 2009). The World Health Organization (2018) states that traffic accidents are ranked eighth as a cause of death in the world with 1.35 million victims dying each year. This study aims to see a picture of community knowledge and attitudes about first aid in traffic accidents in Riau Islands Province in 2022. This type of research is quantitative and the research design used is descriptive with retrospective data collection. The population of this study was 32 people. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. In this study, it is known that the majority of people have high knowledge with 29 respondents (91%) and show a moderate attitude with 27 respondents (84%). This is influenced by several factors, namely education, sources of information, and experience. The results of this study are expected for the community to be able to increase knowledge about and attitudes about first aid in traffic accidents by attending training and education, so that they can participate in first aid efforts for victims of traffic accidents.

And in the control group, the p-value was 0.041 (< 0.05). Conclusion: Media booklet about handling emergencies due to stings from venomous marine animals is effective in increasing tourists' knowledge of this matter. It is hoped that the Kwal Community Health Center can make the booklet one of the service standards in increasing the knowledge of the community, especially tourists, about handling emergencies due to stings from venomous marine animals.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are diseases that do not pass directly from one individual to another. WHO mentions that non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases are the causes of death in the world. Meanwhile, NCDs in Indonesia are the highest cause of death and are beginning to threaten adolescence. Prevention of NCDs in adolescents can help reduce the prevalence of NCDs in Indonesia. Because the risk factors that are possessed during adolescence will affect the incidence of NCDs in adulthood to old age. Knowledge or cognition is a domain that has a great influence on a person's actions or behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze the knowledge and risk factors of adolescent behavior towards non-communicable diseases in the Bintan Regency area. This study uses a descriptive method with a cross sectional approach and data collection is carried out using a questionnaire. The research sample amounted to 219 students who were taken using quota sampling from Junior High School (SMP Negeri 1 Bintan, SMP Negeri 2 Bintan and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri) in Bintan. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that 44.2% of adolescents in Bintan Regency had a good level of knowledge about NCDs and a small part (10.3%) had less knowledge. Based on the behavioral description, 17.9% are at risk of NCDs, of which 50.9% are women. The results of the bivariate test showed that there was no relationship between knowledge and behavior, where the significance of the p-value was 0.174 (> α =0.05). Knowledge is a predisposing factor for behavior formation, therefore there needs to be an effort to increase knowledge about non-communicable diseases in adolescents in schools

Abstract

Background: More than 80 – 90 % of maternal deaths during childbirth are caused by complications during pregnancy. These complications can have an impact on the health of the mother and fetus or newborn. Seeing the many complications during pregnancy that occur, it is necessary to make efforts to reduce the incidence rate. The cause of the high maternal mortality rate may occur due to lack of exposure to information. One of the efforts to overcome pregnancy complications is by providing knowledge and health education, one of which is by using module media containing pregnancy complications (KOMI), because modules are one of the means for the public to get information. Module media can provide professional and reliable information and promotion of health services about health services, especially pregnant women with pregnancy complications. Data collection was carried out twice, namely pre-test and post test. The data analysis used univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of the respondents, such as maternal education and work, pregnancy history and pregnancy complications and . Each variable is calculated by means (mean), standard deviation, median and range. Before analyzing bivariate data, a data normality test was carried out. The test used was the Shapiro-Wilk test, because the number of respondents in this study was less than 50 people in each group. The parametric test used is the Independent Samples T-Test. Results : The results of the study found that the medium of the complication module (KOMI) with a p value of 0.005 was more effective for increasing knowledge with early detection of complications in pregnant women. Conclusion : There is a difference in pregnant women's knowledge about complications in pregnancy before education and after education. The average increase in knowledge after education with Module media.
