Abstract

Pendahuluan: xylene merupakan senyawa pelarut organic berbahaya yang sering ditemukan di perusahaan home industry sepatu yang digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan dalam penggunaan lem sepatu. Untuk mengurangi dan menghilangkan toksin Xylene dari dalam tubuh, dapat dilakukan melalui proses detoksifikasi. Salah satu pendekatan proses detoksifikasi adalah menggunakan makanan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung asupan makanan dan penentuan biaya detox pada makanan yang mengandung enzim CYP2E1 dan asam glukuronat yang dibutuhkan untuk mendetoksifikasi xylene. Metode: jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 12 pekerja. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah di home industry sepatu Oso Wilangun, Surabaya. Variabelnya adalah berat badan, lama kerja (tahun), waktu kerja setiap hari (jam), dan waktu kerja dalam seminggu (hari) serta pengukuran konsentrasi. Setelah mendapatkan semua variabel di atas, intake xylene, massa detox dan biaya detox per responden dapat dihitung. Kemudian, dosis efektif dan biaya yang diperlukan untuk makanan yang mengandung enzim CYP2El dan asam glukuronat  akan diperoleh. Hasil: Semua responden yang berada di tempat kerja menunjukkan konsentrasi Xylene di bawah Nilai Ambang Batas (NAB). Responden dengan biaya detox xylene paling tinggi adalah responden dengan konsentrasi paparan tertinggi serta masa kerja dan waktu kerja yang lama. Kesimpulan: Tingkat kecukupan enzim masing-masing responden berbeda. Tingkat biaya detox masing-masing responden tergantung pada dosis efektif, harga makanan, konsentrasi xylene, masa kerja dan waktu kerja. Setiap responden dapat memilih makanan tergantung pada kebutuhan dan selera mereka.

Abstract

The counseling activity on maintaining dental and oral health given to class V and VI students at SDN Tambakrejo Surabaya is a form of community service in the form of presenting material and simulations which are expected to maintain health and prevent dental and oral disease in children. The extension activities will be held on December 9, 2023 at SDN Tambakrejo Waru Sidoarjo. Before carrying out extension activities, there is an activity preparation process for approximately four weeks before implementing the activity, starting from determining the type of activity to submitting permits to the relevant parties. As a form of evaluation, this activity was attended by 42 elementry school students of classes V and VI, the participants took part in the activity very enthusiastically and the counseling guidance activity ran smoothly.

Abstract

Background: One of the industrial sectors that has a high risk of danger is the informal sector, one of which is the home industry of making chips. Knowledge about occupational health and safety is one of the factors that cause health problems and incidents in the workplace. Therefore, it is necessary to handle the problem of danger by identifying risks and controlling in minimizing the occurrence of accidents and occupational health disorders. Objectives: The purpose of this research was to determine the risk of work accidents, determine the level of work accident risk and provide suggestions for controlling the risk of work accidents that can occur in the cassava chips manufacturing industry. Methods: This study is a descriptive observational study, which is a research method that provides an in-depth description of the process of making gadung chips in a home industry which is then analyzed and compared based on existing reality. Observations are made directly to ensure that the process reflects daily practices in the home industry. The study was conducted with a cross-sectional approach, data will be collected at one time to understand the conditions at that time. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive analysis and risk identification with the HIRARC method, namely: 1) Hazard identification, 2) Risk Assessment (Risk Analysis), 3) Determining Controls, 4) Documentation Socialization and Implementing Controls Results: 33 work accident risks were found that could occur in the process of making combined chips. The level of work accident risk from 33 risks obtained 42% low risk hazards, 21% medium risk hazards, 30% high risk hazards and 7% very high risk hazards Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: 1) 33 work accident risks were found that could occur in the process of making combined chips. 2) the level of work accident risk from 33 risks obtained 42% low risk hazards, 21% medium risk hazards, 30% high risk hazards and 7% very high risk hazards. 3) there are 33 risk control studies consisting of substitution control, administration, and use of PPE

Abstract

Background: The activity of peeling gadung as a raw material for making gadung chips is done manually and repeatedly with an unnatural working posture and can cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Preventive measures need to be taken by carrying out ergonomic risk assessments. Objectives: The research aimed to analyze the level of ergonomic risk in MSDs using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Ovako Work Posture Analysis (OWAS) methods. Methods: The research method used was an analytical method with a cross-sectional research design. This research was conducted in the home industry gadung chips, Kediri in August 2024. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total sample of 10 gadung peeler workers. The variables in this study were the severity of muscle complaints and work posture (back, arm, leg, and load movements) as the risk level for MSDs. The type of data collection technique used was a field study by filling out the NBM questionnaire to determine the severity of MSDs. Working posture (back, arm, leg, and load movements) was also observed using the OWAS method by filling in a form. The results of the analysis will provide results as a reference for taking appropriate action to overcome ergonomic risks. Results: Based on data analysis using the NBM showed the percentage of MSDs, that are right shoulder, right wrist, and right hand had the highest proportion of scores for complaints of pain that always occurred (100%). The left wrist and shoulder area (96%), stiffness in the lower neck (92%), pain in the back (91%), pain in the waist (90%), and also pain in the right and left knee areas for lower limbs. The results of the ergonomic risk level analysis using the OWAS method showed that the working posture is included in the moderate risk category (score 2). Conclusion: Corrective action is needed to prevent musculoskeletal disorders such as improving work posture, doing stretching exercises before and after work and designing ergonomic work chairs.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious issue affecting child growth and development due to chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections. In Palu City, the prevalence of stunting among children under five reached 22.1% in 2023, with a target to reduce it to 14% by 2024. Achieving this target requires a comprehensive approach, including public education on the importance of stunting prevention and balanced nutrition. In addition to education, training in healthy food processing based on local food potential is also conducted, aimed at utilizing local resources rich in nutritional value. This program is implemented through step-by-step cooking demonstrations with direct community involvement. One of the food innovations introduced is the processing of moringa leaves into moringa chicken tofu balls, which are nutrient-dense to support child growth. The program has shown improvements in community knowledge and skills in processing local foods and understanding nutritional intake. However, the program has not fully achieved its target due to low awareness among mothers about balanced nutrition. Therefore, additional strategies are needed, such as continuous nutrition campaigns, strengthening community participation, and cross-sector collaboration to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Counseling activities were given to all workers in the home industry of gadung chips in Ringinsari Village, Kandat District, Kediri Regency, as a form of community service in the form of delivering materials and simulations that are expected to increase workers' awareness of health and safety in the workplace. The counseling activities were carried out in September at the home of the industry owner. Before carrying out the counseling activities, there was a preparation process for approximately four weeks before the implementation of the activity, starting from determining the type of activity to submitting permits to the relevant parties. As a form of evaluation, this activity was attended by all workers and owners of gadung chips businesses, the participants participated in the activities with great enthusiasm and the counseling guidance activities ran smoothly.

Abstract

Kebakaran adalah suatu nyala api, baik kecil atau besar pada tempat yang tidak dikehendaki dan bersifat merugikan. Kebakaran yang sering terjadi, selain disebabkan oleh faktor alam juga dikarenakan faktor manusia akibat kelalaian dan ketidaksiapan dalam menghadapi kebakaran. Latar belakang dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah karena sering terjadinya kebakaran rumah yang berawal dari kompor terbakar atau meledak juga kejadian konsleting listrik. Mayoritas pemukiman yang dihuni oleh masyarakat dengan kondisi yang berhimpitan, karena sumber api dapat berkobar dengan waktu yang sangat cepat menghanguskan rumah, selain itu lokasi terjadinya kebakaran berada di jalan atau gang yang sempit sehingga tidak dapat terjangkau oleh mobil pemadam kebakaran sehingga api sulit untuk dipadamkan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi mengenai upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan bahaya kebakaran menggunakan Alat Pemadam Api Sederhana (APAS) dengan menggunakan karung goni basah. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam kegiatan sosialisasi ini antara lain, metode ceramah : digunakan untuk menjelaskan materi tentang cara upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan bahaya kebakaran menggunakan Alat Pemadam Api Sederhana (APAS) dengan menggunakan karung goni basah; metode praktik : digunakan untuk mempraktekkan cara memadamkan api dengan menggunakan karung goni basah; metode diskusi : dilakukan setelah kegiatan selesai kegiatan pelatihan untuk mengetahui respon peserta. Peserta dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah Ibu anggota Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) di Komplek Citra Fajar Golf RT. 06 RW. 07 Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilaksanakan pada 24 Februari 2025
