Abstract

West Java is the most populated province in Indonesia, and this places quite a heavy burden in facing the wave of demographic dividend which is predicted to occur in 2030-2035. This article aims to identify patterns of similarity and anomalous values from West Java demographics using spatial autocorrelation. The data used consists of population growth rates at the Regency/City level in West Java as well as growth factors such as birth rates (TFR), infant mortality (IMR), and migration. To identify spatial patterns from demographic variables, Global Moran statistics and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) with the ArcMap application are used. The results show that there is global and local spatial autocorrelation for the demographic variables considered. The use of LISA also shows the existence of clusters and outliers that are formed as well as an indication of their location in West Java. The contribution of this study is to provide an overview of significant locations in West Java for policy studies and further research in preparing for the momentum of the demographic dividend.

Abstract

Determining the correct strategic issues when developing an area is crucial so that the solution can effectively be implemented to the existing dynamics. Unfortunately, determining strategic issues is often disregarded or not taken seriously during the planning process. A Similar mistake of not defining strategic issues appropriately looms over the development of Mekarmanik Village, which is based on the Rasagalor Coffee Educational Tourism Concept. This research aims to understand the development dynamics happening in Mekarmanik Village so that the correct issue could be determined. By using data and information gathered from literature studies, focus group discussions, and field observations two types of analysis were done to correctly determine strategic issues that fit with the existing condition of Mekarmanik Village, namely case study, content analysis, and descriptive analysis. The result shows that the strategic issues of developing Mekarmanik Village as a tourism village are specific education, tourism concept exploration, and physical infrastructure improvement.

Abstract

Abstract

The growth and development of the population has caused urbanization phenomena that imply some problems such as congestion, dusty settlements, lack of open green spaces, floods, air pollution, which of course can reduce the comfort and aesthetics that exist in Bandung City. Efforts to improve the aesthetics of the city of Bandung, are currently limited to attempts to set up pavements and parks, as well as underground cable planting systems. (ducting kabel). The aesthetics of a city and its layout can influence the way people see and feel the city, as well as how they interact with its surroundings. Therefore, in order to make an effort to improve the aesthetics of a more targeted city, it is necessary to assess the quality of aesthesia of the city first. Thus, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the aesthetic quality and the efforts to improve the quality of the esthetics of the city in Bandung. The evaluation of the city's aesthetic quality was analysed using the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) method, which assessed 25 vantage points in Bandung. From the results of the SBE assessment , the vantage point with the lowest SBE score is found in the densely populated area of Tamansari (A1) with a score of 0.00 and the highest is the area of Mesjid Al Jabbar (F2) with the score of 227.56.
