Abstract

Abstract

For centuries, conventional financial institutions such as banks and cooperatives have played an important role in the economy. However, advances in technology and digitalization have significantly changed the world's financial landscape. Financial Technology (Fintech) has emerged as a disruptive force offering innovative financial solutions, such as automated investment management, peer-to-peer lending, and digital payments. This research aims to discover and analyze the impact of Fintech on conventional financial management. Specifically, this research aims to assess the impact of Fintech on the efficiency and effectiveness of conventional financial services, assess changes in user behavior in managing their finances due to the convenience offered by Fintech, and discover the challenges and opportunities faced by financial institutions. Mixed methods is an approach that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches in this research. Quantitative data is collected through surveys of financial services users to measure their opinions about Fintech services and their impact on personal financial management. The results of this research show that Fintech has changed conventional financial management. From a user perspective, Fintech has increased the ease and efficiency of accessing and managing financial services, and many users say they are more likely to use Fintech apps and platforms for everyday transactions, managing savings and investments. From the side of conventional financial institutions, this research found that Fintech has increased the amount of money they invest. This study found that Fintech is changing conventional financial management in terms of service efficiency and user behavior. While Fintechs offer more convenience and efficiency, they also force traditional financial institutions to adapt and innovate with new technologies.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of Management Information Systems (MIS) on user experience in private bank mobile banking, focusing specifically on the effectiveness of m-BCA. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative approach, the study aims to understand how mobile banking features, including accessibility, user interface, security, and functionality, influence user satisfaction. Data were collected through direct experimentation with the m-BCA application, complemented by analysis from secondary data sources and a survey of 30 users. Results indicate that 93.3% of users find m-BCA effective for routine banking needs, attributing high ratings to its convenience and functionality. However, while 80% of respondents appreciate the current security measures, 20% cite the absence of advanced security features such as fingerprint and facial recognition as a drawback. The study also reveals mixed feedback on the user interface; while the straightforward design aids usability, 10% of users express a desire for a more visually appealing interface. Despite these areas for improvement, m-BCA’s comprehensive set of features is generally seen as effective, supporting users in performing essential transactions with ease and reliability. The findings suggest that enhancing interface aesthetics and integrating advanced security options could further boost user engagement and trust in mobile banking applications, underscoring MIS’s role in meeting evolving customer expectations in digital banking.

Abstract

This study explores the evolving landscape of Fintech research in Southeast Asia through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis using data from the Scopus database and visualized via VOSviewer. The analysis identifies key research themes, influential authors, collaborative networks, and temporal trends shaping the field. Results reveal five major thematic clusters: financial inclusion and digital transformation; machine learning and data-driven finance; blockchain and decentralized systems; risk and decision-making; and systemic development and regulation. The keyword overlay and heatmap visualizations indicate a temporal shift from technology-centered studies to more inclusive, impact-oriented research, particularly after 2021. Co-authorship and country collaboration networks highlight the dominance of China, India, and the United States, while Southeast Asia demonstrates growing but uneven scholarly engagement. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the intellectual structure of Fintech research in the region and provides a strategic foundation for future academic inquiry, policy development, and digital financial innovation.
