Abstract

Rorippa indica L. Hiern is a local vegetable that is widely consumed by Dayak’s tribe in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is mostly traditionally cultivated without fertilizers, resulting in low productivity. The research aimed to investigate the effect of fertilizers and soil type on the growth characteristics and N uptake of R. indica. The experiment was arranged in a factorial completely randomized design consisting of two factors with four replications. The first factor was fertilizer application (control, 20 t ha-1 of chicken manure, and 600 kg ha-1 of NPK), and the second was soil type (peat and Ultisol). The results revealed that the interaction of fertilizers and soil type gave a non-significant effect on all variables observed, except N uptake. The application of NPK increased the plant height and number of leaves significantly. Compared to control, the increment was 112.50% and 130.32%, respectively, and chicken manure application increased the dry weight (327.87%), N total (310.16%), and N uptake of plants by 478% in peat soil and 228% in Ultisol. This finding concludes that 20 t ha-1 of chicken manure can be applied to increase the productivity of R. indica.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Morfometrik, Kerang Kepah, dan Nelayan di Desa Tanah Merah Abstract- Kepah Scallop (Polymesoda erosa) is one of the biotas that live in tidal areas. Its habitat is between mangrove roots on a substrate of mud, sandy mud, and mangrove litter (Wanimbo, 2016). As one of the biotas that live in tidal areas, Kepah clams have growth characteristics and natural growth patterns that are adapted to adaptation patterns to their environment. The method used in this study was the observation method, namely data collection was carried out by direct observation and recording of the observed object, and sampling was carried out randomly so that it could represent the sizes of the caught cockles. The morphometric distribution of shellfish (polymesoda erosa) caught by fishermen from Tanah Merah Village, the highest shell length distribution was 2.36-3.55 mm with a total of 110 individuals and a percentage of 37%, the highest shell height distribution was size 1, 05-1.84 cm with a total of 140 individuals and a percentage of 47%, the highest distribution of the width of the shells was 2.1 – 3.29 mm with a total of 121 individuals and a percentage of 40% and the weight of the shells (polymesoda erosa) which was mostly caught by fishermen in Tanah Merah Village was the size of 1.93 – 21.78 grams with a total of 189 individuals and a percentage of 63%. The results obtained show that the size of the mussels caught by fishermen in Tanah Merah Village is small and not yet suitable for catching. .36 – 8.35 mm, height 1.05 – 4.24 mm, width 2.1 – 6.89 mm and weighs 1.93 – 101.31 grams.
