Abstract

Background: One of the efforts to fulfill patient safety targets is identifying patients correctly. Identification carried out incorrectly will have fatal consequences, triggering other errors. An important paradigm for reducing misidentification requires more than two patient identifiers. Objective: The study aims to analyze the influence of management support, team work, monitoring and evaluation process on implementing the patients’ identification among nurses at Wisma Rini Pringsewu Hospital. Method: We conduct the cross-sectional study to examine the causalities of independent variable with dependent variable. Result: Management support has a direct effect on the implementation of patient identification. Management support also has an indirect effect on the implementation of patient identification, through monitoring and evaluation. Meanwhile, monitoring and evaluation can have a direct influence on the implementation of patient identification. Team work influences the implementation of patient identification, but the influence is small, so monitoring and evaluation is needed so that team work works well. Meanwhile, team work is formed due to the contribution of management support. Implication: Create monitoring and evaluation policies related to the implementation of quality improvement and patient safety activities

Abstract

Background: This study was conducted based on the incidence issues of patients’ safety in inpatient room. Objective: The study aimed to examine the association between self-efficacy, and working attitude on quality of services with working motivation as intervening variable. Method: A cross-sectional study was applied in this study. We involved 108 inpatient nurses which are selected using the purposive sampling technique. The statistically analysis using the structure equation modelling. Result: The results found that self-efficacy, and attitude were directly affected on working motivation and quality of services simultaneously (p-value <.05). Conclusion: The effects of self-efficacy and working attitude on the quality of services are significant, with working motivation serving as a critical intervening variable. Recommendation: Hospitals should therefore focus on strategies that enhance all three factors to ensure the delivery of superior healthcare services. Further study needs to conduct the study by developing the intervention to improve the quality of nursing services. Implication: Hospitals should therefore focus on strategies that enhance all three factors to ensure the delivery of superior healthcare services

Abstract

Abstract

Background This research is motivated by several problems related to patient safety in central surgical installations from 2020 to 2022. The aim of this research is to empirically reveal the influence of interprofessional collaboration and the implementation of the surgical safety checklist on patient safety culture with safety leadership as a moderating variable. Methods This research is motivated by several problems related to patient safety in central surgical installations from 2020 to 2022. The aim of this research is to empirically reveal the influence of interprofessional collaboration and the implementation of the surgical safety checklist on patient safety culture with safety leadership as a moderating variable. Results The results of the three-box method analysis concluded that interprofessional collaboration, implementation of the surgical safety checklist and patient safety culture were at the medium index, and safety leadership was at the high index. Hypothesis testing proves that simultaneously interprofessional collaboration, implementation of the surgical safety checklist and safety leadership have an effect on patient safety culture with a p value of 0.000. Partially, interprofessional collaboration has an effect on patient safety culture with a t-value of 4.900, implementation of the surgical safety checklist with a t-value of 4.444, safety leadership with a t-value of 4.740. Conclusion The moderation test concluded that safety leadership did not moderate the influence of interprofessional collaboration on patient safety culture with a t-value of 1.175, but moderated the influence of the implementation of the surgical safety checklist on patient safety culture with a t-value of 2.739.
