Abstract

Background: Impacted teeth are tooth growth that is blocked by the growth of teeth in the jaw arch because they are obstructed by adjacent teeth or buried by soft tissue. Impacted teeth often occur in third molars, followed by canines. The prevalence of impacted third molars is quite high, reaching 96.56%. Impacted teeth are performed using an extraction procedure called odontectomy. The public must have the motivation to carry out odontectomy if there are complaints about impacted teeth. Objective: To determine the relationship between the incidence of impacted tooth cases and patient motivation to undergo odontectomy at RSKGM FKG UI in 2023. Method: Analytical research with a cross sectional approach. A sample of 50 patients who visited RSKGM FKG UI in the oral surgery room for the period September 2023. The tool for measuring the incidence of impacted teeth uses a recapitulation form and patient motivation using a questionnaire. Results: The majority of cases of impacted teeth were in class II (76%), most of the patients' motivation for undergoing odontectomy was good (70%). There is a significant relationship between the incidence of impacted teeth and the patient's motivation to undergo odontectomy because the p-value is 0.000. Conclusion: Impacted teeth on average occur in women aged 21-30 years with a class II classification.

Abstract

Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) is an important food crop with significant economic and social value, particularly in tropical regions. However, its productivity is often affected by pest attacks, which are frequently not detected early due to the limitations of traditional monitoring systems. This study aims to develop a pest monitoring system for sweet potatoes by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). IoT enables real-time monitoring of environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light, while GIS is used to map the spatial distribution of pests. By integrating these two technologies, pest control can be carried out more efficiently, accurately, and environmentally friendly. This system provides early notifications to farmers regarding pest infestations, allowing for quick and effective decision-making in pest management. Additionally, the use of IoTand GIS isexpected to reduce excessive pesticide use andenhance the sustainability of sweet potato production. This article offers an innovative solution for pest management based on spatial-temporal data in dryland agroecosystems.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in collaboration with the Muhammadiyah University of Karanganyar's Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities and KKN Group 13 in Gumeng Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. The purpose of the activity is to support the development of local potential through agricultural digitalization and capacity building for farmers. The main program includes the launch of the Desa Gumeng agricultural website as a promotional and educational medium, as well as the organization of the "Agritech Evolution" workshop, which discusses balanced fertilization and environmentally friendly pest control. The implementation methods consist of website design, socialization, technical training, interactive lectures, and participatory discussions. The results of the activity show enthusiasm from approximately 30 participants, increased knowledge among farmers regarding fertilization and pest control, and the availability of a website that can be used as a marketing medium. The conclusion indicates that the synergy of digitalization and human resource capacity building is key to the success of rural agricultural development.
