Abstract

Striving for Superiority is one of the personality dimensions from Alfred Adler's theory. Striving for superiority can help adolescents balance their sense of inferiority, so that adolescents have better understanding of their identity roles. Adolescents have a high curiosity tendency to their self-development although at the same time faced inferiority feelings. Adolescent faced the rush of development of technology and the social media era, where the idea of the ideal are everywhere in digital culture. Because of that the majority of adolescents have biased and polarized perspectives in their exploration, so that adolescents need a growth mindset. The school counselor's role guides adolescents to be optimal in adolescent development, by developing a growth mindset, adolescents willing to do self-exploration and understand their identity. The purpose of this study is to know the role of the school counselor on developing adolescents' growth mindset to adjust in inferiority feelings while striving for superiority. The method uses a systematic literature review conducted by 12 recommendations and using criteria for adolescents. The school counselor as a psychoeducational service performs many actions therefore, school counselors are needed developing adults a growth mindset to face inferiority, it focus on cognitive stimulation. The result has a recommendation focus on conceptual of growth mindset on cognitive behavioral intervention such as reframing, journaling, and bibliotherapy.

Abstract

Kesejahteraan mental menjadi isu penting dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan, terutama pada kelompok remaja dan dewasa muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan bukti ilmiah terkait efektivitas konseling kelompok dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan mental dengan menggunakan metode scoping review. Penelusuran dilakukan melalui database Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, dan ERIC pada periode 2012–2024, dengan menggunakan kata kunci relevan. Sebanyak 11 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa konseling kelompok secara konsisten memberikan manfaat terhadap kesejahteraan mental, seperti pengurangan stres dan kecemasan, peningkatan kepercayaan diri, serta pengelolaan emosi yang lebih sehat. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa konseling kelompok merupakan intervensi yang layak diterapkan dalam program layanan bimbingan dan konseling.

Abstract

The development of technology affects guidance and counseling services. Various technologies are used to facilitate access to practical guidance and counseling services. The primary purpose of this article is to determine research trends on the topic of technology in guidance and counseling. The method used in this study is Bibliometric Analysis with the help of R Studio Bibliosiny software. Bibliometric analysis is carried out in three steps: 1) determining the objectives and research questions; 2) developing research design; and 3) analyzing results and interpretations. This Bibliometric analysis uses the Scopus database. The research findings show: 1) Performance analysis shows that the development of technology research in guidance and counseling during 1959-2025 has increased in terms of quantity with an Annual Growth Rate of 7.06% and Productivity per active year of publication of 30.03; 2) Kraut et al.’s publication in 1998 regarding the Internet paradox became the most influential publication. Then, the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment became the most impactful journal on the topic of guidance and counseling technology; 3) The United States became the most productive country publishing articles related to technology in guidance and counseling. Naslud Ja is the most active author collaborating with other authors; 4) Over the past five years, the most widely studied topics are therapy, exercise, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and drug therapy. Overall, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the number of publications, research trends, and interest in guidance and counseling technology research. Researchers in the field of guidance and counseling who are interested in publishing their work in the Scopus database or Scopus-indexed journals can focus their research on keywords that have emerged over the past five years.
