Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of language in political reporting and its impact on public opinion. Using the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method, this research explores how the media uses language to frame political news, chooses diction with ideological connotations, and utilizes emotional language to influence public perception. Data was collected from political news published in several media with different political orientations, as well as through surveys and interviews with readers to identify the influence of language on their opinions. The research results show that the media, through framing techniques, word choice, and the use of language that contains emotional elements, significantly influences the public's perspective on political issues. This research also reveals the need to increase media literacy among the public so that the public is more critical in responding to political news and wiser in receiving information. It is hoped that these findings can contribute to understanding the influence of language in the media on the formation of public opinion, as well as inviting the media to be more responsible in delivering objective and informative news.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to explore the strategic role of educational leadership in maintaining national identity through the integration of technology and local wisdom in Indonesian primary schools. The study also highlights the gap in technology access between urban and rural areas and the challenges in curriculum development that can harmonize local cultural values with digital advancements. Using the literature review method, this study analyzes various literatures to understand the contribution of educational leadership to integrative policies that favor the preservation of national identity in the digital era. The findings show that educational leadership plays a central role in designing policies that not only encourage the use of technology, but also instill noble values of national culture. However, there are still significant barriers such as limited digital infrastructure, lack of locality-based teacher training, and lack of community involvement in curriculum formulation. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening inclusive policies, equitable technology investment, contextual teacher training and close collaboration with local communities to realize basic education that is firmly rooted in the nation's culture while being adaptive to the times.

Abstract

English plays a strategic role in education because it serves as a means of global communication and an instrument for improving the quality of human resources. However, in learning practice, students still face obstacles in writing skills, especially in mastering vocabulary in descriptive texts. This study aims to identify and analyze vocabulary errors made by junior high school students and explore the factors that cause them. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with 30 students from class VIII B MTs NW Suwangi as subjects. The research instruments were written tests, documentation, and brief interviews with students and teachers. The data were analyzed using error analysis procedures, including identification, classification, and interpretation. The results of the study show that there are four main categories of errors, namely pronoun misuse (58.3%), word form error (25%), misuse of words (12.5%), and redundancy/repetition (4.2%). The main factors causing errors include mother tongue transfer, limited vocabulary, and generalization of grammar rules. The conclusion of this study confirms that vocabulary errors are a natural part of second language acquisition, reflecting the development of students' interlanguage. Therefore, teachers need to implement error-based learning through contextual exercises, descriptive vocabulary reinforcement, and the provision of meaningful language input.
