Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company that manufactures heavy equipment components made of steel plates. The level of competition in the heavy equipment components industry is getting tighter and customer demands are getting more detailed on the quality of spare parts, thus companies are required to be able to meet customer needs without neglecting the quality and quantity of production target. One of the factors to increase the efficiency of a company globally is to increase productivity, so that customer trust increases and employee welfare improves. Various methods to increase productivity, one of them by using the time study method in the SAW of Assy Bucket section to determine the standard production time, so that the best alternative working methods and optimal results can be selected. As well as policies related to bucket production so that production achievement targets can be taken easily. In addition to improving the working method, it is hoped to improve the skills of the operator so that the quality of the bucket hardening results is above average and minimize the occurrence of reject products. Operating times and waiting cranes that cause delays can be significantly reduced. From the analysis of the time study method, the average normal time is 476.7 minutes. And the standard time reduction is 954.2 minutes.

Abstract

PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor Plant Cikarang is a company engaged in the 4-wheeled automotive (car) sector, which carries out the assembly process from the base to becoming a car product. PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor Plant Cikarang also produces car components, one of which is a car engine component, namely Cylinder Head products. In the cylinder head component production process, there are problems with NG products sent to the next process, which is quite high, reaching 43.12% of the total NG product. From these data, further analysis was carried out, it was found that the cause was the gate cutting and baritory processes, the product inspection process was not optimal so that the NG product was sent to the next process. To deal with these problems the company uses the QC Seven Tools and poka-yoke approaches which have been carried out in the gate cutting and baritory processes by making a special jig for the Cylinder Head checking process so that the possibility of the product passing to the next process is small. The result of the improvement that has been made is the decrease in the percentage of NG products that pass to the next process to 8.33% from the previous data, which was 43.12% over a period of 4 months.
