Abstract

Wife has an important role in helping the family economy. Hamadi village, Subdistrict South Jayapura, Jayapura City is one of Village that has a fishing community. Problems that occur are not yet available business institutions in the community that can coordination fish processing business activities and Causing a lack of motivation and innovation as well as community creativity in developing processed fish products. This happened to one of the fishery business groups is POLAKSHAR Mama Papua, where processed fishery products are only made into smoked fish simply. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach was used in this activity.The community has a large role to implementing the proses and can make processed fishery products, namely meatballs that use tuna meat by adding black ink hitam which comes from squid rich in glutamic acid so that it tastes like guri umami truffle and Parmesan cheese, and can improve income and can managed well in a book keeping

Abstract

Wife has an important role in helping the family economy. Women’s association in Indonesian Christians Church of Marthen Luther at Tanah Hitam of Jayapura city is group of housewife that work as a Civil Officer, Private-employee and housewife. Problems that accur for women’s association is unknowledge about products processed with used fihery product of commodity such as Yellow fin fish tuna, because undevelopment of motivation and creativity of human to development products processed to be a business side hustle to improve income. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach was used in this activity.Through this empowerment the women’s association in Indonesian Christians Church of Marthen Luther has big role for made some fishery product processed such as Samosa and Siomay and can improve income.Then, business that managed need know abaout well in a book keeping so that the business will goes well in financial management.

Abstract

Background : Environmental damage around the Hamadi coastal mangrove ecosystem, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City, which is caused by many human behavioral factors on the coast, one of which is due to tourism activities that throw away garbage so that it becomes dirty and the natural beauty is damaged. he waste has not been fully addressed effectively if the management is not carried out properly, which then becomes a serious threat to the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem area near Hamadi Beach which is used as a tourist spot. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study of the behavior of the community living around the area and utilizing the area. Method: The researcher used 30 respondents as samples and conducted in June to August 2024 on Hamadi Beach, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City using the data usage technique in this study is Simple Random Sampling, which is carried out randomly from members of the population without considering the level of the population. The data that has been obtained is analyzed using the Likert Scale. Results: Respondents were dominated by men, productive age 36-45 years old, predominantly high school education, fishermen, who had an income Rp 1.000.000 -Rp2.000.000. Socio-economic characteristics describe respondents who live, sell and travel around the area. The characteristics of the respondents were seen from the community's perception of the knowledge of the function of the mangrove ecosystem (3,39) including the category strongly agree, Public Perception of Environmental Conditions for the Growth of Mangrove Ecosystems (3,5) Including the category of strongly agreeing, public perception of the utilization of mangrove ecosystems (3,14) including the category of agree. Conclusion: The development of science about public perception that results in environmental damage to the mangrove ecosystem on Hamadi beach needs to be known in early countermeasures.

Abstract

Background : Kuadas Village, located in Sorong Regency, is one of the villages selected by the Forest Area Management (KPH) of Sorong Regency through the Social Forestry Indicative Map (PIAPS) created by the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership Center (BPSKL). It is proposed under the social forestry program with a village forest scheme and is currently facilitated by the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Fauna Flora Indonesia Program in the submission of the Social Forestry Village Forest Scheme. However, the issues faced by the surrounding village communities are usually related to social and economic aspects in managing the forest. Method: The researcher used 46 respondents as samples and conducted the study from June to July 2023 in Kuadas Village, Makbon District, Sorong Regency, using the Saturated Sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using the Likert Scale. Results: Three perception aspects were assessed, namely the Utilization and Level of Dependence on Forest Resources, Forest Sustainability, and Perception of Social Forestry. After calculating with the Likert Scale formula, it was found that the aspect of Social Forestry Perception received the highest score with a total of 1.175 and a percentage of 87.7%. Conclusion: The development of knowledge about community perceptions regarding the submission of the Social Forestry Village Forest Scheme can provide valuable information for readers, such as the village or others.

Abstract

Background : Youtefa Bay, located in Jayapura City, Papua, is renowned for its natural beauty and is a conservation area with a mangrove forest ecosystem. The mangroves in Youtefa Bay, such as Rhizophora sp., play a crucial role in maintaining environmental balance and supporting the livelihoods of the surrounding communities. However, the biochemical complexity of these mangrove extracts poses a unique challenge in understanding their health effects. The objective of this research is to explore and elucidate the bioactive complexity of mangrove extracts, particularly Rhizophora sp. Methods: . The analytical method employed in this study is High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The results of this research show that Rhizophora sp. Results: Mangroves in Youtefa Bay, Jayapura City, contain various bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and tannins, which are beneficial to health. Alkaloids aid in stimulating the nervous system, regulating blood pressure, and combating microbial infections. Flavonoids function as antibacterial and antioxidant agents, while terpenoids possess anti-inflammatory properties. Saponins are effective for the treatment of leukemia, asthma, rheumatism, and also exhibit anti-inflammatory effects. Tannins serve as anti-diarrheal, antioxidant, antibacterial, and astringent agents. Conclusion: Mangrove Rhizophora sp. has various active compounds which are very beneficial for health, so it is necessary to preserve the mangrove ecosystem in Youtefa Bay, Jayapura City.

Abstract

Functions of a fishing port as a place for supervision and fish resource control. In the context of prevention and IUU fishing controll, surveillance at fishing ports needs attention for evaluation. After that, research about prevention and IUU fishing control still resting on legal aspects study and policy analysis published. This research done to evaluate prevention and IUU fishing control especially in Banda Beach Fisheries Port, Maluku Province in the context of supervising the management of fish resources in WPP 714. The research done on Banda Coastal Fisheries Port (PPP), Banda District, Central Maluku Regency from June-November 2021. Descriptive analysis for analyze the data with method decription or describe the data that has been collected as it is without means to draw applicable conclusions for general (Sugiyono,2018). This analyze used index analyzes, for get tendency of answers from respondents to each variable. This study shows that IUU Fishing status in a moderate state (1,9) with the components that make up the index are 3 (three) i.e. iIlegal, Unreported and Unreported is moderate (1,9). The variables with the highest level of compliance are Unreported (2,1), then Ilegal (1,9) and Unregulated (1,7).

Abstract

Productive fishing gear for catch small pelagic fish and demersal is set gillnet that use by fisherman in empty island. Effort that wrestled with this need to know the income for development, because great income wii not give profit and welfare to fisherman or ship owner in Empty Island, if capital and out cost greater than income. For that purpose researched are describe net capture equipment, analyze income and analyze feasibility of gillnet fisherman in society. The study was conducted for 6 months from June till November 2023 with use primary and secondary data, then used analyze income and investment criteria. Based on the results for research that fisherman of gillnet in empty island is Rp 207.246.667,-/year. Investment criteria obtained value NPV>1,(475.200.000-),IRR> discount rate(11%) dan Net B/C ratio >1 (4.980,-) indicating that fisherman of gillnet in empty island is a well run.
