Abstract

Asphyxia neonatorum is a condition where a newborn baby does not breathe spontaneously and regularly after birth. Asphyxia can occur during pregnancy and childbirth. Asphyxia in newborns is a high risk because they have a greater chance of experiencing the baby's death or becoming seriously ill during the neonatal period. The aim of this research is to determine the description of the incidence of asphyxia based on risk factors for mothers, babies and birth factors at the Community Health Center. This research method was carried out descriptively using secondary data at the Community Health Center to find out the general picture of the incidence of asphyxia in newborns with research variables which include risk factors for mother, baby and childbirth. The results show that factors related to the incidence of asphyxia in community health centers are influenced by risk factors for mother, baby and childbirth.

Abstract

Oxytocin massage is also a solution to overcome irregular breast milk production. This massage is performed along the spine to stimulate the hormones prolactin and oxytocin after giving birth. The purpose of this study was to determine the role, benefits and functions of the combination of breast care and oxytocin massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers and to facilitate breast milk production. The research method was quasi-experimental, with a posttest-only control design. Using consecutive sampling techniques. Interventions were given from the first day to the third day postpartum, then observations were carried out. Data normality test using the Shapiro-Wilk test, data analysis using the independent t-test. The research results obtained a significance value with the average number of the combination group and the control group. The conclusion of this study is that the combination of breast care and oxytocin massage is effective in breast milk production in postpartum mothers. When massaging the spine, it can cause a neurogenic reflex that speeds up the work of the parasympathetic nerves to convey commands to the back of the brain. As a result of the stimulatory signal, the potential action process of oxytocin is released into the systemic blood from the posterior pituitary. In the bloodstream, oxytocin is delivered to the myoepithelial cells of the alveoli and uterus so that oxytocin will stimulate these cells which cause the alveolar sacs to be compressed and the ducts to shorten and widen.

Abstract

Breast milk production is significantly influenced by hormonal and psychological factors, one of which is stimulation of the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin massage is a simple technique that can be performed by family members to stimulate breast milk production. This community service program aims to provide oxytocin massage training to families of breastfeeding mothers as a promotional intervention to increase breast milk production. The activity was implemented through counseling, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and follow-up mentoring for 25 families in Sukamaju Village. Evaluation results showed an increase in family knowledge and skills in performing oxytocin massage, as well as a positive impact on breast milk flow. This training has proven effective and can be recommended as a routine program in pregnancy and breastfeeding classes at the community level.

Background: Breast milk is a very important thing in the process of growth and development of infants. There is no other type of milk that can replace breast milk (ASI), especially exclusive breastfeeding. Babies who receive exclusive breastfeeding have a higher level of health and intelligence, immunity to various diseases, and a higher level of emotional comfort because they are closer to their mothers. Objective: To determine the effect of nutritional education on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at RSKDIA Pertiwi Makassar in 2025. Method: This study uses a quasi-experimental design method with one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who gave birth normally or by cesarean section. Sampling was carried out using a total sampling technique obtained 40 respondents. The collected data were then processed and analyzed using the SPSS version 24 statistical program and analyzed with the wilcoxon test. Results: The study showed that there were computerized statistical test results using the wilcoxon test, which obtained a p-value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means there is an influence of nutritional education on breast milk production in postpartum mothers.
