Abstract

Introduction: The effectiveness of emergency care heavily depends on the knowledge and skills of nurses. Errors in emergency treatment often lead to severe disability or death, highlighting the need for ongoing nurse training. This study aims to identify factors related to the knowledge of implementing nurses in handling emergency patients. Method: An analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach was used, involving 30 respondents. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate techniques, including the Chi-Square test, with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The majority of respondents were aged 20–30 (80%), had higher education (53.3%), and were relatively new in service (60%). More than half (53.3%) had received emergency training. Bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between knowledge and education (p = 0.011), length of service (p = 0.007), and training attendance (p = 0.014). Nurses with higher education, longer service, and formal training demonstrated better emergency handling knowledge. Conclusion: Education, experience, and training significantly influence nurses’ knowledge in emergency care. Continuous professional development, through formal education and certified emergency response training, is recommended to improve nursing care quality in emergencies

Abstract

The quality of dug well water should comply with established regulations. The pollution caused by bacteria to water in the ground widens to ± 2 meters at a distance of 5 meters from the source of pollution 3 and narrows to a distance of 11 meters in the direction of the ground flow. This type of research is descriptive research, namely to determine the use of silica sand filter media, activated carbon in filter reactors on reducing TDS, Nitrite (NO2), Dissolved Manganese and MPN Coliform by comparing the composition of the filter media with reference to clean water quality standards Permenkes No. 2 In 2023, the samples in this research were dug wells located in Kapasa Village, Biringkanaya District, Makaasar City. The results of this research after the filtration intervention of manganese media, activated charcoal and silica sand, found that TDS, color, Manganese Nitrite (NO3) had decreased levels of environmental pollution, this is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. Conclusions from the results research shows that silica sand, manganese and activated charcoal filtration media, TDS, manganese nitrate (NO2) and MPN Coliform can effectively reduce water pollution levels in dug wells in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation. So the risk of infectious and non-communicable diseases can be overcome with the intervention of silica sand, manganese and activated charcoal filtration media.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health is a crucial issue in improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Lack of knowledge and awareness among adolescents regarding reproductive health can lead to risky behaviors, such as unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. This community service activity aimed to empower adolescents as change agents (peer educators) in reproductive health campaigns in Assisted Village X, Y District. The methods used included training, group discussions, educational simulations, and mentoring during community campaigns. Thirty adolescents aged 14–18 years participated in the program. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test questionnaires and direct observation. The results showed a 60% increase in knowledge, as well as improved communication skills and confidence in delivering health information. This activity demonstrates that adolescent empowerment is effective in developing their capacity as agents of change in the community while strengthening promotive and preventive efforts in reproductive health.

Abstract

Introduction: Family dynamics play a crucial role in shaping adolescent social behavior and psychological health. Adolescence is a critical developmental stage marked by rapid physical, emotional, and social changes. During this period, family communication, emotional support, and parental involvement significantly influence the formation of social values and mental well-being. Methods: This study employed an analytical survey design using a cross-sectional approach to examine the role of family dynamics in shaping social behavior and psychological health among students of SMA Negeri 15 Wajo. A total of 65 adolescents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire developed by the researchers and analyzed using Chi-Square tests with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between family dynamics and both behavioral problems and psychological health (p = 0.002). Adolescents from families with positive dynamics exhibited better social behavior and mental health outcomes compared to those from families with poor communication and emotional conflict. The univariate analysis also showed that most respondents experienced supportive family environments (83.1%) and good psychological health (73.8%). Conclusion: Healthy family dynamics contribute positively to adolescents’ behavioural development and psychological stability. Effective communication, emotional warmth, and balanced parental involvement serve as protective factors against deviant behaviors and mental health disorders. Future research should further explore sociocultural aspects influencing these relationships to support interventions promoting adolescent well-being.
