Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating the shadowing technique with the AI-powered mobile application ELSA Speak to enhance pronunciation and speaking fluency among second-semester students of the English Language Education Study Program. A quasi-experimental design was employed, with a sample of 45 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and student questionnaires. Over six meetings, the experimental group utilized the shadowing technique alongside ELSA Speak, while the control group received traditional instruction. Results indicate that the experimental group showed significant improvement in both pronunciation and speaking fluency compared to the control group. This study concludes that integrating shadowing with AI-powered applications like ELSA Speak is an effective strategy for developing students’ oral English proficiency.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis budaya dirancang untuk berfokus pada materi yang dikaitkan dengan budaya lokal daerah tempat siswa berasal dengan sesuai  latar belakang, pengalaman dan pengetahuan awal yang beragam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang ditransformasikan dengan budaya daerah lain di Indonesia dan budaya asing dalam mencapai keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Dalam mendukung tujuan tersebut, perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi transformasi budaya ini dihasilkan melalui sebuah studi pengembangan yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan Plomp dan metode eksperimen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di salah satu sekolah yang berada di Kabupaten Bandung dengan sampel terdiri dari 3 kelas yaitu kelas uji coba terbatas, kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan angket dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitiannya adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar keterlaksanaan perangkat pembelajaran dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian dengan metode Plomp menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan valid, praktis dan efektif. Hasil penelitian dengan metode eksperimen  terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi hasil Uji ANOVA One Way  p-value 0,002 (sig < 0,005) menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.

Abstract

The ideology and social-political viewpoints of the author have an impact on their texts. Students should thus assess their reading and writing assignments from several angles and avoid taking any material at face value. However, there is still a lack of literacy practice in the EFL environment that goes beyond breaking down linguistic elements and comprehending the surface material of the texts. As a result, educators should switch from conventional literacy to critical literacy. Beyond just decoding words, critical literacy interprets them in light of their context to conclude the social, political, and ideological viewpoints expressed in the text. This research aims to determine if using a storybook and the four resources model of critical literacy may help first- semester students in the English Language Education Study Program at Universitas Bale Bandung practice critical literacy. The four resources model suggested by Luke and Freebody (1999) served as the foundation for the text discussions. Focus group interviews, classroom observations, and notebooks they kept while researching a tale were all used to gather the data. The results demonstrated that including an account and four resources help pupils strengthen their critical thinking skills. Through breaking codes exercises, discussion of the storybook during the meaning-making stage, comprehension of the story's structural elements and social function during the text-use phase, and critical discussion of the storybook, the students could identify the writer's language choice and challenge social norms. Despite its drawbacks and limitations, this research shows that critical literacy practice is feasible in EFL contexts, particularly in reading classroom.

Abstract

Background: the use of birth control during postpartum before 6 weeks or 42 days will be able to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Knowledge and attitudes are factors that influence the use of birth control after childbirth. One effort to increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes about postpartum family planning is through health education provided both through classes for pregnant women and during third-trimester counseling visits. Objective: to determine the relationship between health education and the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding postpartum family planning at the Annasr Cisauk Main Clinic, Tangerang Regency in 2023. Research method: quantitative analysis with cross-sectional design. The research sample was 52 third-trimester pregnant women using an accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The data is primary data analyzed using the chi-square test. Research results: univariate analysis showed that the majority of pregnant women received health education about postpartum family planning, 67.3%, with good knowledge 63.5% and positive attitudes 69.2%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a relationship between health education and pregnant women's knowledge (p-value = 0.000) and pregnant women's attitudes (p-value = 0.006) regarding postpartum family planning. Conclusions and Suggestions: there is a relationship between health education and pregnant women's knowledge and attitudes about postpartum family planning. Midwives are expected to provide health education to all pregnant women in the third trimester regarding the use of birth control contraceptives after giving birth before 42 days so that after giving birth the mother will consciously want to use them as an effort to shorten pregnancy.

Abstract

Studi ini meneliti efektivitas penggunaan sistem flashcard berbasis AI untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris di kalangan pembelajar EFL. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 45 mahasiswa akuntansi S1 yang terdaftar dalam kursus bahasa Inggris di sebuah universitas di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan desain pretest-posttest satu kelompok, penelitian ini dilakukan selama enam minggu menggunakan Anki, aplikasi flashcard berbasis AI yang menerapkan algoritma pengulangan berjarak untuk mendukung retensi kosakata. Data dikumpulkan melalui penilaian kosakata pretest dan posttest serta kuesioner persepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan kosakata siswa, dengan skor rata-rata meningkat dari 5,40 menjadi 8,20 setelah intervensi. Siswa juga melaporkan bahwa sistem flashcard tersebut menarik, nyaman, dan efektif dalam membantu mereka mengingat kata-kata. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa alat flashcard berbasis AI seperti Anki dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan pembelajaran kosakata, mendorong otonomi pembelajar, dan memotivasi siswa EFL, khususnya mereka yang bukan dari jurusan bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Based on the Global Breastfeeding Scorecard report which evaluates breastfeeding data from 194 countries, the percentage of infants under 6th month who are exclusively breastfed is only 40%. In addition, only 23 countries have exclusive breastfeeding rates above 60% (United Nations Children's Fund). However, at the Lebak district level, in 2019 there were 2553 babies and in 2020 there were 1.614 babies who were exclusively breastfed.This study aims to determine the Effect of Consumption of Katuk Leaves, Spinach and Cassava on the Production of Breastfeeding Mothers in the Work Area of ​​the Cilograng Health Center in 2022.This research method uses a Quasi Experiment research type with a pre and post test design without control. The population in this study were postpartum mothers and breastfeeding mothers in the period December 2021-August 2022 in the working area of ​​the Cilograng Health Center, a total of 433 people, 39 respondents as a sample, 13 for the katuk leaf consumption group, 13 for spinach leaf consumption and 13 respondents in the cassava leaf consumption group. . Respondents will be taken by accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis.The results of this study showed that most of the respondents were aged 20-35 years (87.2%), more than half of the respondents had multipara/grandemultipara parity status (69.2%) and half of the respondents had secondary education (56.4%). In the katuk leaf group (pvalue 0.003), spinach leaf group (pvalue 0.003) and cassava leaf group (pvalue 0.001) where the pvalue of the three groups was > 0.05, it could be interpreted that these three groups had an effect on milk production in nursing mothers.It can be concluded that katuk, spinach and cassava leaves can help milk production in nursing mothers. It is hoped that this research can educate the public more with the aim of maintaining and increasing the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of ​​the Cilograng Health Center.

Abstract

In June there was an average number of post partum mothers per month as many as 40 post partum mothers in the working area of the Puskesmas Carenang. Based on the results of interviews and screenings using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaire, out of 20 mothers, data were obtained from 13 mothers who experienced post partum blues. The purpose of this study is to determine the Effect of Laughter Therapy on Reducing Depression Rates in Post Partum Blues Mothers at the Puskesmas Carenang in 2022. This research method uses Quasi Experiment with a pre-test post test design. The samples in this study were postpartum mothers who experienced postpartum blues depression in June to July 2022 as many as 58 people, a sampling technique, namely total sampling. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the average EPDS score before being given laughter therapy was 6.2. The average EPDS score after being given laughing therapy was 4.38. There is an effect of laughter therapy on decreasing postpartum depression rates (p value 0.000 <0.05). So it is hoped that this study will be able to provide education and information in overcoming postpartum blues depression conditions in post partum mothers with laughter therapy.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is a significant health problem that affects both the mother and fetus. Iron deficiency, as the primary cause, can lead to complications such as premature birth and maternal and neonatal mortality, especially in areas with limited access to adequate nutrition, like Enim Estuary Regency. A natural solution, such as the consumption of beetroot juice, which is rich in iron, folic acid, and vitamin C, has emerged as an alternative for increasing maternal hemoglobin levels during pregnancy. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of beetroot juice consumption in increasing maternal hemoglobin levels at the Tanjung Raya Community Health Center. The research also aims to identify the characteristics of pregnant women, analyze their hemoglobin levels before and after the intervention, and evaluate the difference in mean hemoglobin levels following beetroot juice consumption. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest format. The study involved 150 pregnant women, selected through total sampling at the Tanjung Raya Community Health Center. The independent variable is beetroot juice consumption, while the dependent variable is hemoglobin (Hb) levels. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results show that the majority of respondents (93.33%) were aged between 20 and 40 years, with an even distribution across the three trimesters of pregnancy. Regarding education, the majority had completed junior high school and high school (28% each). The analysis revealed a significant improvement in maternal Hb levels after the intervention, indicating that beetroot juice consumption is effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in anemic pregnant women. It is recommended that the Tanjung Raya Community Health Center integrate beetroot juice consumption into their maternal health improvement programs and enhance educational efforts regarding the benefits of consuming nutritious foods

Abstract

Hemoragik Postpartum (HPP) merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian ibu di dunia maupun di Indonesia yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat hingga saat ini. HPP didefinisikan sebagai perdarahan ≥500 ml setelah persalinan pervaginam atau ≥1.000 ml setelah persalinan sectio caesarea yang dapat terjadi akibat berbagai faktor risiko, seperti atonia uteri, jarak kehamilan yang tidak ideal, paritas, usia ibu, riwayat anemia, serta komplikasi obstetri lainnya. Untuk Mengetahui Efektivitas Kandungan Jahe Terhadap Mual Pada Ibu Hamil Trimester I Di Posyandu Teratai Cikampek Barat Tahun 2025. Fokusnya adalah melihat perubahan intensitas mual sebelum dan sesudah pemberian intervensi jahe menggunakan instrumen pengukuran yang terstandar, seperti PUQE (Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea). Subjek penelitian adalah ibu hamil trimester pertama (usia kehamilan 6–12 minggu) yang mengalami mual ringan hingga sedang, memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, serta bersedia menjadi responden. Hasil: Adanya Efektivitas Kandungan Jahe Terhadap Mual Pada Ibu Hamil Trimester I Di Posyandu Teratai Cikampek Barat Tahun 2025 dengan p value < 0,05 Bidan diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi dan konseling kepada ibu hamil mengenai manfaat jahe dalam mengurangi mual pada trimester I sebagai bagian dari pelayanan antenatal care (ANC)
