Abstract

Introduction: Elbow dislocation is the second most frequently dislocated joint in adults after the shoulder. The incidence of elbow dislocations in the United States is. 7,000 per year. Elbow dislocation can cause stiffness in the elbow. This impacts pain, muscle spasms, limited range of motion and functional activities. Hence, therapy for elbow dislocation can be in the form of deep friction massage, muscle energy technique and exercise therapy. Case Presentation: This study reported a women patient, aged 21 years old with posterior elbow dislocation in sinistra side because fallen on July 2023. After a month, the patient was done for surgery at Orthopaedic Hospital of Surakarta and then referred to RSUD Salatiga to do intensive physiotherapy treatment. Management and Outcome: There were pain arround elbow by NRS, limited range of motion by goniometer, reduce muscle strength by MMT and reduced functional activities by DASH scale. Patient got deep friction massage, MET and exercise therapy 5 times Discussion: There were significant improvement form pain where tenderness (3 to 2) and movement pain (4 to 3), increasing extension range of motion from 350 to 250 especially for sagital plane, increasing muscle strength m. biceps brachii (4 to 5), as well improving score of DASH of functional activities from 5 to 25. Conclusion: Comprehensive treatment of Physiotherapy techniques gives positive effects to patient with the condition of elbow dislocation. This study might can be a reference to guide other physiotherapist doing rehabilitation to the patient with elbow dislocation.

Abstract

Discussion: Pada pasien post op frakture dirasa sangat diperlukan mobilisasi dini seperti pasif exercise untuk mencegah terjadinya komplikasi post op seperti kekakuan, atrofi otot maupun perlengketan sendi synovial.

Abstract

People in general still think that scoliosis is not a big problem. In fact, the effects of scoliosis itself are not small; they can carry risks such as unstable balance and musculoskeletal disorders. If left too long, it will cause various problems, namely pain, cosmetically disturbing deformities, functional obstacles, lung problems, the possibility of progression into adulthood, and psychological disorders. This activity aims to introduce what scoliosis is and provide education about the role of physiotherapy to patients at the Medical Rehab Clinic at Salatiga Regional Hospital. After carrying out community service on November 16, 2023, the results showed that patient knowledge about scoliosis and the role of physiotherapy in scoliosis increased. This activity is provided in the form of community service, where the participants are patients of the Medical Rehab Polyclinic at Salatiga Regional Hospital. The education provided is in the form of early detection and education regarding the role of scoliosis physiotherapy. Based on the data obtained, the counseling that has been given has had a positive impact on patient knowledge; this can be seen in the enthusiasm and question-and-answer process. The author hopes that this service will continue to have a positive impact on patients and that patients will always maintain their posture with the exercises that have been taught

Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) genu merupakan salah satu penyebab utama disabilitas pada populasi lanjut usia. Meskipun gejalanya sering muncul sejak stadium awal, OA grade 1 sering kali tidak ditangani secara aktif, padahal penanganan dini berpotensi mencegah progresi penyakit. Fisioterapi multimodal dapat menjadi pendekatan efektif dalam mengatasi nyeri dan meningkatkan fungsi aktivitas pada pasien OA.Case Presentation: Seorang perempuan usia 52 tahun dengan diagnosis OA genu dextra grade 1 menjalani fisioterapi sebanyak empat sesi selama dua minggu. Evaluasi dilakukan sebelum dan setelah terapi menggunak NPRS, MMT, dan WOMAC.Management and Outcome: Melaporkan respons klinis pasien OA genu dextra grade 1 terhadap kombinasi intervensi yaitu Ultrasound (US), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), serta latihan Open Kinetic Chain (OKC) dan Close Kinetic Chain (CKC).Result: Adanya penurunan skor NPRS pada nyeri saat gerak (6 menjadi 3), nyeri tekan (4 menjadi 2), dan nyeri istirahat (1 menjadi 0). Kekuatan otot meningkat dari MMT skor 4 menjadi 5. Skor WOMAC menunjukkan penurunan dari 42 menjadi 23, menandakan perbaikan fungsi aktivitas harian. Conclusion: Kombinasi fisioterapi US, TENS, OKC, dan CKC berpotensi memberikan manfaat klinis jangka pendek bagi pasien OA genu grade 1.
