Abstract

This research aims to describe the role of the principal in developing student character at TKIT Az-Zahra Demak, especially in implementing the Independent Curriculum. The focus of this research is to understand the strategies, challenges and impact of school principal leadership on strengthening the character of early childhood. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The research results show that school principals have a strategic role in integrating character values ​​into learning activities and school culture. The school principal acts as a learning leader, facilitator and motivator for teachers and provides support in developing character-based programs. In addition, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum provides flexibility in designing contextual and meaningful learning for students. However, there are challenges in terms of developing teacher competency and collaboration with parents. This research concludes that the success of character development at TKIT Az-Zahra Demak is very dependent on the commitment of the school principal, collaboration between parties, and support from the school environment. The recommendations of this research include the need for continuous training for teachers and strengthening synergy between schools and families in supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

The enforcement of discipline at school environment is important to create a condusive learning atmosphere. Howeverit sometimes faces child protection regulation poin 35 of 2014 about child’s protection. This study aims to examine the conflict appear between the implementation of disciplinary enforcement by the school and the legal limitations ruled in the child protection law, especially in SMA N 1 Kembang Jepara. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques and interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The result of the study showed there is dilemma faced by teachers and school stake holders in deciding strict action for students who break the rules for there is consideration of violating the children rights. This conflict appears because of lack of balanced understanding between legal protection for children and need for discipline in the education. The study recommends the need for special training for educators regarding legal limitations in enforcing discipline. As well as the importance of preparing national standart procedures (SOP)for discipline that are in line with statutory regulations. Effective communication could be done by the stake holders to minimize the different perception that triggers the emerged conflict.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implikasi dari penerapan pembelajaran sistem Among yang dipadukan dengan konsep kodrat zaman dalam konteks pendidikan di Indonesia. Sistem Among, yang dicetuskan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara, menekankan pentingnya kebebasan individu dan pembimbingan sesuai dengan potensi setiap siswa. Sedangkan kodrat zaman mengacu pada adaptasi metode dan materi pembelajaran yang relevan dengan kondisi dan tantangan era modern. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus di lembaga yang telah mengimplementasikan sistem Among. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah dan guru kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem Among  meningkatkan kemandirian, kreativitas, dan karakter siswa. Siswa yang belajar dengan sistem Among menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterlibatan yang lebih tinggi dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi beberapa tantangan dalam implementasi dan resistensi dari beberapa pihak terhadap perubahan metode pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kombinasi sistem Among dengan adaptasi terhadap kodrat zaman dapat menghasilkan lingkungan belajar yang lebih dinamis dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan siswa di era digital.

Abstract

Abstract: Wise use of technology by principals can help facilitate the improvement of teacher competency. Principal management and teacher professional competency are interconnected because they influence each other. Therefore, the role of the principal as an educator is expected to be a figure who strives for change for teachers so that they consistently carry out their teaching duties optimally.The purpose of this study is to describe the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of technology-based professional competency improvement for teachers at Pembina State Kindergarten in Demak District. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects were the principal and seven teachers at Pembina State Kindergarten in Demak District. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.Technology-based professional competencies in teachers are: a) identifying problems and analyzing needs; b) Setting goals; c) Preparing programs and strategies and d) Preparing budgets. 2) Organizing the principal in improving technology-based professional competencies in teachers includes: a) Team formation and division of tasks; b) Internal coordination; c) Resource management. 3) Implementation of the principal in improving technology-based professional competencies in teachers is: a) Program implementation; b) Facilitation and support; and c) Direct monitoring. 4) Supervision of the principal in improving technology-based professional competencies in teachers at TK Negeri Pembina, Demak sub-district is: a) Implementation of supervision; and b) Evaluation and follow-up. Keywords: principal management, professional competence, technology Abstrak: Pemanfaatan teknologi secara bijak oleh kepala sekolah dapat membantu memudahkan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru. Manajemen kepala sekolah dan kompetensi professional guru saling berkaitan karena saling mempengaruhi satu sama lain. Oleh karena itu, peran pemimpin selaku Kepala Sekolah sebagai educator diharapkan menjadi sosok mengupayakan perubahan bagi para guru agar senantiasa menjalankan tugas pembelajarannya secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan dan pengawasan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional berbasis teknologi pada guru di TK Negeri Pembina Kecamatan Demak. Penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru yang ada di TK Negeri Pembina Kecamatan Demak yang berjumlah 7 orang. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Perencanaan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional berbasis teknologi pada guru adalah: a) mengidentifikasi masalah dan menganalisis kebutuhan; b) Menetapkan Tujuan; c) Penyusunan program dan strategi dan d) Penyusunan anggaran. 2) Pengorganisasian kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional berbasis teknologi pada guru diantaranya adalah: a) Pembentukan tim dan pembagian tugas; b) Koordinasi internal; c) Pengelolaan sumber daya. 3) Pelaksanaan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional berbasis teknologi pada guru adalah: a) Implementasi program; b) Fasilitasi dan dukungan; dan c) Pemantauan langsung. 4) Pengawasan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional berbasis teknologi pada guru di TK Negeri Pembina kecamatan Demak adalah: a) Pelaksanaan pengawasan; dan b) Evaluasi dan tindak lanjut.
