Abstract

Research on developing assessments based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) with the help of the quizizz application during learning from home by utilizing features in online applications in the learning process. This study aims to produce a Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) based assessment for fifth grade elementary schools in science learning theme 8 The environment of our friend that is valid, reliable, feasible, and practical. This research method uses R&D research with the ADDIE research design (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The steps developed include design, expert validation, limited scale trials, and large scale trials. The assessment developed is a multiple choice question using the quizizz application. Data collection techniques in this development research using test techniques (multiple choice) and practicality questionnaires. The results of the HOTS-based multiple choice assessment validation are valid, the reliability value when the limited scale trial is 0.648 and when the large scale trial is 0.762 the value indicates the assessment is reliable. revisions", namely 15 item items, the criterion "Acceptable without revision", namely 7 item items, the criteria with "Good" questions, namely 8 item items and the broad scale shows the different power of the 30 questions, there is the criterion "Acceptable with revisions", namely 15 item items, the criterion "Acceptable without revision" is 7 item questions, the criteria with the question "Good" is 8 item questions. Analysis of the difficulty level of the limited scale test items, 7 questions with Easy criteria, 20 questions with Medium criteria, and 3 questions with Difficult criteria and on a wide scale it shows 12 questions with Easy criteria, 16 questions with Medium criteria, and 2 questions with Difficult criteria . The practicality questionnaire uses 4 raters which show very practical criteria.

Abstract

Abstract

Parenting programmes in elementary schools play an important role in supporting students' character development but often face challenges in terms of parental involvement. Problems include low parental participation in school activities, limited resources and parents' lack of understanding of their role in their children's education. The purpose of this study was to identify the role of parents in students' character development, the challenges faced in implementing the parenting programme, as well as the strategies implemented by the school to increase parental participation in public school 2 Kemasan, Boyolali, Indonesia. This study used qualitative methods with direct observation techniques, structured interviews with parents, teachers, and principals, and document analysis related to the parenting programme. The results show that despite constraints such as limited time and resources, active parental involvement can improve students' attitudes, discipline and learning motivation. However, the level of parental participation in some activities is still low, which affects the effectiveness of the programme. Recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the parenting programme include providing parenting materials online to overcome time constraints and collaborating with external counsellors to provide more support to parents in educating their children. This research is expected to provide insights for other schools in optimising their existing parenting programmes.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the learning process, with digital literacy becoming a critical skill for students, including in primary schools. Digital literacy plays an important role in enabling students to access and utilise information from digital sources effectively, which in turn affects their learning outcomes. One aspect that is affected by digital literacy is students' reading interest, especially in Indonesian language subjects. This study aims to examine the relationship between digital literacy and reading interest in Indonesian subjects among third grade students of SDI Al Azhar 9, Bekasi. The research method used was a correlational quantitative research design. The population in this study were all third grade students of SDI Al Azhar 9, Bekasi, with a sample of 120 students selected randomly. Data collection was conducted through a Likert scale questionnaire that measured students' digital literacy and reading interest. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics with Pearson correlation test to test the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that most students had a moderate level of digital literacy, while their reading interest was also moderate. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between digital literacy and reading interest, with digital literacy explaining 52% of the variation in students' reading interest. This suggests that improving digital literacy can encourage greater reading interest. This study recommends that educators and parents guide students in using digital technology productively to improve their reading habits and academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant differences in mathematical problem solving ability between using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model and the Problem Solving model. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research method used is the Quasi Experimental Design research method using the Nonequivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. In experimental class 1 using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model, while experimental class 2 using the Problem Solving model. The sampling technique used Purposive Sampling. The research sample has the same number of students in experimental class 1 and experimental class 2, namely 26 students. The data collection technique used a written test in the form of descriptions. The results showed that the pre-test of experimental class 1 was 44.62, and the post-test was 73.85. Experimental class 2 showed a pre-test of 48.8 and a post-test of 67.69. The t-test analysis obtained a 2-tailed significance value of 0.024 <with a significance level of 0.05, so Ho was rejected and Hi was accepted. This means that there is a significant difference in the ability to solve mathematical problems between using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model and the problem solving model in Class IV of SDN Bojong Menteng 2 Bekasi.
