Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form and function of editorial text implicature and its use as teaching material in class XII SMA. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the subject of the editorial text of Media Indonesia and the object of the text structure, form and function of the implicature. In this study, data collection was carried out using note-taking techniques. Then the data is categorized and performs discourse analysis. From the research that has been done, it is found that 26 editorial texts are included in conventional implicature forms. Then found 117 implicature function data consisting of 44 representative implicature function data, 56 directive implicature function data, fifteen expressive implicature function data, and two commissive implicature function data. The results of the research on the forms and functions of the implicatures of the editorial text of the October 2021 edition of Media Indonesia and recommendations for teaching editorial texts in class XII SMA are used as teaching materials in the form of handouts.

Abstract

This research aims to describe, (1) the use of language styles in the weekly Jawa Pos short stories, and (2) the language styles that tend to or appear most frequently in the weekly Jawa Pos short stories. To achieve this goal, researchers used a qualitative descriptive research design. The subject of this research is short stories in the February 2023 edition of the weekly Jawa Pos newspaper. The object of the research is the use of language style in the short stories of the weekly Jawa Pos newspaper. The method used to collect data is the documentation method. The results of this research show that: (1) the language styles in the Jawa Pos weekly short stories are very diverse. There are 20 types of language styles, namely imagery, metaphor, personification, antithesis, pleonasm, anticipation, correction, hyperbole, climax, paradox, euphemism, antonomasia, metonomia, paralism, anaphora, mesodilopsis, epanalepsis, epizeuksis, assonnsi, and tautotes. (2) the language style that is dominant or often appears in the short stories of the Jawa Pos Online News Portal, namely, the hyperbole language style totaling 16 data.

Abstract

This thesis research is about the use of serial image media in improving biographical text writing skills for class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Rawamerta. The aim of this research is to determine the use of serial image media in learning so that it can improve the skills of class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Rawamerta in writing biographical texts. The research method used is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research type and the research design used is nonequivalent. The aim is to compare the learning outcomes of the two classes used as research samples, namely MPLB 1 class as the experimental class and TO 1 as the control class. In this research, there is an initial test (pretest) to determine students' initial abilities and a final test (posttest) to determine student learning outcomes after being given treatment. The treatment took the form of serial image media for the experimental class, while the control class had conventional learning. The results of research carried out with the help of the SPSS version 26 for Windows program show that the experimental class and control class have different learning outcomes. It is known that the average pretest result for the experimental class is 42.53 and the control class is 36.64, so that the average posttest result for the experimental class is 82.31 while the control class is 61.58. Based on the post-test average, this means that the experimental class is superior to the control class, and there is a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class. Based on the results above, writing skills using serial image media can improve compared to learning before using image media or conventional learning.

Abstract

Globalization and the influx of foreign cultures in Indonesia have impacted societal life, leading to a serious moral crisis. Values such as courtesy, mutual respect, and helping others are diminishing, resulting in negative behaviors like brawls, promiscuity, and violence. This situation reflects a decline in moral character among the younger generation. This study employs a qualitative and descriptive approach, using Angkasa by Tresia as the object. Data collection was conducted through literature review techniques, analyzing relevant books, notes, and reports. Data collection was further supported by note-taking techniques. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing.The research findings are as follows: First, the intrinsic elements of the novel include theme, plot, setting, characters and characterization, narrative point of view, language style, and message. Second, the character education values identified are religiosity, a love for reading, social awareness, responsibility, hard work, and friendliness or communication. The research results will be used as handouts for supporting teaching materials in the XII grade of high school.Keywords: Character education values, novel, teaching materials.

Abstract

The problem in this research is whether there is an influence of the problem learning model based learning on the ability to write biographical texts of class X SMAN 6 students Karawang. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence of the model problem based learning on students' ability to write biographical texts class X at SMAN 6 Karawang. This type of research is experimental research with using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design, which is one of the experimental types. The population in this study were class X SMAN students 6 Karawang with 252 students. The sample in this study were students in class X-1 and X-2 consisted of 72 students using purposive sampling. Results This research shows that the research data collected. Testing hypothesis using two means test analysis. Based on the calculation results, class experiment and control obtained Sig values. (2-tailed) posttest data is 0.001, then Ho is accepted because of the Sig value. (2-tailed) < 0.05. Therefore, the learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on infographic media can be influenced and used in the ability to write biographical texts in class X students at SMAN 6 Karawang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penerapan model KWL (Know Want and Learned) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa pada teks biografi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain Pre-Test and Post-Test Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di SMK Negeri 3 Kota Bekasi dengan sampel terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model KWL dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pemahaman membaca sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman membaca siswa yang menggunakan model KWL dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, model KWL efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa pada teks biografi.
