Abstract

Identification of Liquid Product Compounds from Natural Asphalt Pyrolysis from Lawele, Buton Regency has been carried out. This research is intended toidentify the content of the compounds contained in the liquid fraction from the pyrolysis of Lawele's natural asphalt. This is a research experimentwith natural asphalt material was simply pyrolyzed at a temperature of 350oC with a little vacuum. The resulting liquid products were analyzed using the GC-MS instrument and analysis showed that there were 24 compounds contained in the liquid fraction resulting from the pyrolysis of Lawele asphalt with 2 main components, namely Phenol (C6H6O) of 16.45% and acetic acid (C2H4O2) of 12.47%. Another important product is alkane derivatives, namely Undekane (C11H24) and cyclo-octene (C8H14) which can be used as fuel.

Abstract

Nickel supported Parangtritis beach sand (PP) catalyst for hydrocracking of palm and malapari oil into biofuel has been conducted. The impregnation process of Nickel (Ni) metal on PP was carried out through the dry impregnation method (blending) using a precursor salt of NiCl2.6H2O with variations of Ni metal as much as 10 and 15 wt% of PP which produced Ni(A) and Ni(B) catalysts. Each catalyst was tested for activity and selectivity through the hydrocracking process of oil into biofuel using a semi-batch system reactor at a temperature of 450 oC, a hydrogen gas flow rate of 20 mL/minute for 2 hours, and a weight ratio of 1:200 catalyst:feed (w/w). The results showed that the Ni(A)/PP catalyst had the highest activity and selectivity with the yield of liquid products and the total biofuel fraction (biohydrocarbons) obtained from hydrocracking of palm oil of 68.50 and 49.87 wt%, respectively. Ni(A)/PP catalyst has a total acidity, surface area, and crystal size of 0.051 mmol/g, 4.44 m2/g, 25.86 nm, respectively. The reusability test of the Ni(A)/PP catalyst in the hydrocracking process of palm oil into biofuel after the third use resulted in a liquid product and the total biofuel fraction obtained was 64.20 and 41.46 wt%, respectively. The yield of liquid product and the total fraction of biofuel (biohydrocarbon) in hydrocracking malapari oil were 66.10, 47.83 wt%, respectively. Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit, or erythrocyte count falls below normal. Teenage girls are at high risk of developing anemia because they have menstrual periods that cause a loss of a lot of iron in the blood. Other factors that can affect anemia are poor nutritional habits and a lack of physical activity. An attempt to reduce the incidence of anemia is to consume foods rich in iron (greens, fruits, and meats) that can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. This activity was carried out by examining hemoglobin levels in teenage daughters for early detection of anemia and giving an assessment related to anemia. As for the results of the hemoglobin examination in the schoolgirls, of the 35 participants, there were 24 people with a hemoglobin level of <12 g/dL. With knowledge of anemia, a teenage princess is expected to be able to maintain her eating patterns, like choosing foods that are rich in iron.

Abstract

Background: Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) during adolescence can have serious long-term consequences, not only compromising individual health but also increasing the risk of complications during future pregnancies. Local food sources such as moringa oleifera leaves offer a promising strategy to address this issue, given their high iron content. Developing practical, acceptable forms such as cookies and capsules may provide holistic solutions for improving hemoglobin levels. Although both preparations have been shown to significantly enhance hemoglobin levels within the same intervention period, differences in their composition, production methods, and potential iron bioavailability warrant further comparison. Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of moringa-based cookies and capsules in improving hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia. Method: A quasi-experimental study was conducted in 2024 among 53 female high school students selected through purposive sampling. Hemoglobin concentrations were measured using the Easy Touch GCHb device. Paired t-tests were used to assess changes within each group, and independent t-tests were applied to compare outcomes between groups. Results: The study proved that the mean hemoglobin level in the moringa cookies group increased to 12.52 g/dL (p=0.002), while the capsule group showed an increase to 12.20 g/dL (p=0.001). However, no significant difference was observed between the two interventions (p=0.412). Conclusion: Both moringa cookies and capsules effectively improved hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with iron deficiency anemia. Nevertheless, there was no significant difference in the extent of improvement between the two forms of supplementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengetahuan dan sikap guru tentang gizi di sekolah dasar Kecamatan Sampolawa. Sebanyak 30 guru dari berbagai usia dan lama pengalaman mengajar berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dengan mengisi kuesioner terstruktur yang dirancang khusus. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup tentang gizi, namun masih ada sebagian kecil yang memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang memadai. Sikap guru terhadap gizi umumnya positif, walaupun ada beberapa responden yang menunjukkan sikap kurang positif. Hasil penelitian ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam pengembangan program pelatihan gizi yang lebih efektif dan terarah bagi para guru di sekolah dasar. Rekomendasi untuk studi lanjutan mencakup analisis yang lebih mendalam tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengetahuan dan sikap guru serta evaluasi efektivitas program pelatihan gizi dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran guru tentang pentingnya gizi dalam membentuk pola makan sehat anak-anak.
