Abstract

Stroke is a brain flow disorder that causes a sudden neurological deficit as a result of ischemia or hemorrhage of the brain's nerve flow. Stroke is a functional brain disorder that occurs suddenly (in a few seconds) or quickly (within a few hours) with clinical indications and symptoms both focals and global lasting more than 24 hours, caused by obstruction of blood circulation to the brain due to bleeding (stroke). hemorrhagic) or blockage (ischemic stroke) with signs and indications according to the part of the brain affected, which can heal completely, heal with a disability, or die. Range of motion (ROM) exercise is an attempt to maintain the flexibility of muscles and joints by moving the muscles. ROM used for stroke rehabilitation is proven to optimize recovery so that stroke sufferers get a better functional outcome and quality of life. The objective of this study is to restore muscle strength and joint flexibility so that patients can return to their daily activities. This study used a pre-experimental design, using a one-group pre-test post-test design. Sampling using purposive sampling with a total sample of 22 respondents. The research instrument used was in the form of an SPO assessment sheet. Analysis of the data used is the Dependent T-Test. The results showed that there was an effect of Passive Range of Motion Exercise on muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital. Dependent statistical test T-test shows the value of p = 0.00 < from the value of 0.05. There is an effect of Passive Range of Motion Exercise on muscle strength in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital. Abstrak Stroke adalah gangguan aliran otak yang mengakibatkan defisit neurologis mendadak sebagai dampak iskemia atau hemoragi aliran saraf otak. Abstract

Stroke is the second most common cause of disability worldwide in individuals over 60 yearsof age and is the top primary diagnosis in long-term care. Physiotherapy helps clients buildstrength and maintain range of motion or ROM and muscle tone in the muscles that havenot been affected by the stroke. Prevention of complications from stroke can be done bycarrying out regular passive or active ROM exercises according to the patient's condition.Family support influences the motivation of stroke sufferers in doing exercise and also hasa big influence in increasing muscle strength. The objective of this study is to find outwhether there is a relationship between family support and the motivation of stroke patientsto undergo physiotherapy at Murni Teguh Sudirman Hospital, Jakarta. The sample in thisresearch was 30 respondents using total sampling technique. The reliability value of familysupport is 0.791 and the reliability value of the motivation questionnaire is 0.746. Data werecollected using a questionnaire prepared using the Guttman scale. And the data analysisused is univariate and bivariate data analysis using chi-square. This research wasconducted in December 2021 – February 2022. The research results obtained an R valueof 0.346 which shows a low correlation and low strength of the relationship between familysupport and motivation.
