Abstract

Sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack) is a medicinal plant in the Verbenaceae family that is known to have antidiabetic activity. The secondary metabolite content found in sungkai leaves is in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, steroids, phenolics, and saponins. This research aimed to identify the biological activity of compounds in sungkai plants as antidiabetic agents using α-glucosidase inhibitors in silico. Sungkai leaf extract with ethanol solvent was identified using a Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS). There are 15 compounds resulting from LC-MS/MS analysis which will then predict antidiabetic activity using molecular docking. Molecular docking was carried out using AutoDock Tools software and visualized with Discovery Studio. The highest scoring result obtained from the molecular docking test was the compound C13H23N6S with a free bond energy result of -7.31 and an inhibition constant value of 4.41 μM, which binds three hydrogen bonds in GLU 78, ALA 75, and GLU 198. Abstract

The village of Tawangrejo possesses several potential developments, particularly in the livestock sector, but the maintenance of livestock generally relies on forage without additional mineral supplements. Therefore, assistance is necessary to facilitate the production of Herbal Mineral Block (HMB) supplements for the breeders. This program is designed to impart knowledge and skills on producing additional mineral supplements for ruminant livestock feed to enable breeders to produce HMB supplements independently. The methods used were socialization, distribution of HMB informational leaflets, hands-on demonstrations of HMB production, and pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure the program's success. The results of the assessment of changes in conditions before and after the program showed that there was an increase in the knowledge, attitudes, and breeders’ skills of Tawangrejo. In the high category, the knowledge aspect increased from 14.3% to 100%, the attitude aspect increased from 57.1% to 100%, and the skills aspect increased from 4.8% to 95.2%. Through this program, Tawangrejo breeders are assessed as having an understanding of additional mineral supplements as important for livestock health and having the skills to make HMB independently. Adding HMB supplements to livestock can increase productivity, nutrient absorption, and body weight.

Abstract

Stunting is a problem associated with chronic malnutrition over a long period caused by not fulfilling a balanced intake of nutrients, where children in the process of growth and development experience disorders such as short height conditions (dwarfism), which means they do not develop as other children in general. In this case, parenting patterns are fundamental because parenting patterns that are less supportive regarding nutrition and health care for children can increase the risk of stunting. Therefore, parents must innovate to meet children's nutritional needs and build healthy eating habits. The service implementation carried out by UIN Salatiga's Community Service Students (KKN) is to guide parents in Losari Village, Sumowono District, Semarang Regency, in supporting children's development with balanced parenting management. Implementing the service is through training in making "nugget mayur". The result of the service is to raise parents' awareness of parenting by paying attention to food intake that is rich in nutrients for children, as the Supplementary Food Provision (PMT). The form of service carried out can play a role in preventing stunting in children.
