Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to know the response of  junior high school students grade VIII at using of the Children Learning In Science (CLIS) model. The method used in this study is an eksperimental method in the form of survey. Sample of this study chossesed with  the purposive sampling method so that class VIII A was selected in SMP Negeri 6 Sambas. The data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire response. The response questionnaire in this study consisted of 5 aspects with 6 negative statements and 6 negative statements. The statement is used to know students 'responses to the use of CLIS models in improv students' critical thinking skills. Subjects in this study were 28 students. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded that the analysis of the questionnaire responses of students gave a positive response to the CLIS model used to improve critical thinking skills  a matter of work and energy showed a response of 72% with a high category. The response questionnaire can be used as a benchmark to find out the improvement of critical thinking skills by using the CLIS model a matter of work and energy Keywords:  CLIS , Respon,  Work and Energy

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi kemampuan keterampilan proses sains terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa di kelas V SD Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian survei tanpa kelompok pembanding bersifat deskriptif korelatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 76 siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan keterampilan proses sains siswa adalah 20,41 atau presentase rata-rata skor 57%. Rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa adalah 26,06 atau presentase rata-rata skor 70,4%. Terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan keterampilan proses sains dengan penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,689. Kontribusi relatif kemampuan keterampilan proses sains terhadap penguasaan konsep adalah sebesar 47,5%. Temuan ini diharapkan agar guru dapat menyusun program pengajaran yang tepat untuk mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains demi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.   Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Proses Sains, Penguasaan Konsep   Abstract: This research aims to determine the contribution of the ability of science process skills to mastery of concepts students in grade V Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak Elementary School. The research type that used is a survey research without descriptive correlative comparison group. The study sample is 76 students. The results of data analysis showed that the average ability of science process skills of students is 20.41 or average percentage score of 57%. On average mastery of concepts students are 26.06 or average percentage score of 70.4%. There is a relationship between the ability of science process skills by mastering the concept of 0.689. The relative contribution to the ability of science process skills mastery of concepts is 47.5%. This finding is expected that teachers can develop appropriate teaching program for developing science process skills in order to improve student learning outcomes.   Keywords: Science Process Skills, Mastery of Concepts

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research was to remediated of student’s misconceptions through the application of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) in fluid dynamics at SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. One group pretest-posttest design was used as method of this research. Population of this research was all students of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The samples was used intact group technique which the outcome is class of XI IPA 4 with 32 students. Diagnostic test was used as the instrument of this research, it’s consist of 9 multiple choice questions. Based on the data analysis, the mean percentage of student's misconception decreasing is 42,47%. McNemar statistic test result with dk = 1 and α = 5% showed >, this result showed that there is a significant change of the student’s conception. The effect size cohend’s of AIR in the remediation of misconception is 1,05 (high category). In conclusion, the remediation of misconception through application of AIR is capable to overcome student’s misconception. Keywords: remediation, misconceptions, Auditory Intellectually Repetition,fluid dynamics

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine students’ responses to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) on Newton’s Law material at Junior High School 5 Pontianak. This research was a survey. The sampling was taken Proposive Sampling method with intact group technique, thus students of VIII-A who have been given learning with PBL became the sample in the study. The research instrument was a response questionnairein in a total 10 statements with 3 response aspects. The analysis of students’ responses generally stated agreement with Problem Based Learning (PBL) of 78,53%, the results of the students’ to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) showed very interested criteria. Based on the finding, the Problem Based Learning model can be used as learning alternative to implementation learning. Keywords: Newton’s Law, Problem Based Learning, Responses

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to show the effectiveness of the implementation of the Heller’s problem solving in improving student’s ability to solve questions on straight-motion at SMAN 6 Pontianak. One group pretest-posttest was used in this study. This study involved 27 students of grade XI which had taken by intact group. The instruments of this study were 5 essays pretest and posttest. Based on pretest’s data analyze, visualize the problem was the highest student’s ability (49,8%) and execute the plan was the lowest student’s ability (20%).But according to posttest’s data analyze, visualize the problem was the most mastered by students (90,8%). The improvement of problem-solving ability was calculated by gain-score test, and got 0,33 in fairly good category. Heller’s problem solving was effective in improving student’s ability to solve the questions with the effect size of 1,4 in the high category. So, this study could be an alternative in improving student’s ability to solve the questions. Keywords: Ability, Straight-motion, The Heller’s Problem Solving

Abstract

AbstractThis research have a purpose to review the suitability of authentic assessment implement by physic teachers with authentic assessment based on demand of curriculum 2013 suitable with the Permendikbud No. 66 Tahun 2013 that is attitude, knowledge, and skill assessment use the relevant instrument. The research’s method that used in this research is descriptive method. Sample in this research is SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak and SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak, choose with use the purposive sampling method. The instrument of data collector is student and teacher questionnaire, interview list for headmaster and teacher and also documentation that be related to authentic assessment. In the amount of 69,2 % of indicator in the plan of authentic assessment and 72,2 % of indicator in implementation of authentic assessment that implemented by physis teachers grade X Senior High School at Pontianak it has been happen well and suitable with demand of curriculum 2013 there are in Permendikbud No. 66 Tahun 2013. This research expected can used as reference in the implementing of authentic assessment in order to suitable with demand of curriculum 2013 based on Permendikbud No. 66 Tahun 2013.  Keywords: Authentic Assessment, Curriculum 2013 and Physic Learning

Abstract

AbstractThis study was aimed to produce a diagnostic test in the form of multiple-choice to distinguish students’ misconceptions on the subject material vibration and waves at Junior High School Level. This study was conducted in the form of a research and development (R&D) comprising (1) preparation of test specifications which include determination of test objectives, preparation of test lattices, determination of test forms, determination of test length, (2) writing of test items, (3) checking of test items, (4) testing of tests, (5) analysis of test items, (6) improvement of test items, (7) test assembly, (8) test implementation involving students from SMPN 1 MempawahHilir and MTs Muhammadiyah Bakau Kecil, and (9) interpretation of test results. The results of the analysis showed that the developed test was based on the students’ initial conception of the vibration and waves subject from the previous research. After being tested, the product obtained validity by 0.76, reliability by 0.76, readability by 4.2, and difficulty level by 0.44. Therefore, as the product met the characteristic of the test, the diagnostic test was valid and reliable to use, of which the readability and level of difficulty were equivalent to the level of the students.
