Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research was to remediat of student’s misconceptions through the Interactive Problem Task and Experiment (P&E) method with props in fluid dynamics at SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar. One group pretest-posttest design was a method for this research. The population of this research was all students of SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar. The samples was used purposive sampling technique which the outcome is 34 students. Diagnostic test used as the instrument of this research, it’s consist of 9 multiple choice questions. Based on the data analysis, the mean percentage of student's misconception decreasing was 47,06%. McNemar statistic test result with dk = 1 and α = 5% showed > , this result showed that there was a significant change of the student’s conception. The DQM of P&E method in the remediation of misconception is 45,5% (normal category). In conclusion, the remediation of misconception through P&E method was capable to fixed student’s misconception. Keywords: fluid dynamics, Interactive Problem Task and Experiment, misconceptions, remediation.

Abstract

AbstractThe purposed of this research was to determine the effectiveness of remediation misconception by using Review, Overview, Presentation, Exercise, and Summary (ROPES) teaching model to reduce the number of the students who have misconceptions about liquid pressure at SMP Negeri 16 Pontianak. The research method used in this study is a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. This research used purposive sampling which involved 33 students of VIII A class. The research instrument was a diagnostic test consisting of 9 multiple choice with open reasons. Based on data analysis, there was a decrease percentage the number of the students who have misconceptions with an average 62,19 %. The results of the Mc Nemar test with dk = 1 and α = 5 % showed > which means that the student’s concetual changed significantly after the remediation activity using ROPES model. The ROPES model is effective for reducing the number of students who have misconceptions about liquid pressure with an effect size value of 1,16 which is included in the high category. The ROPES model is expected to be used as alternative remediation activities to reduce the number of students who have misconceptions about liquid pressure.Keywords: Remediation, Misconceptions, ROPES, Liquid Pressure

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to identify and develop a comic-based learning media to improve student achievement about vibration subject. The method of this study was Research and Development (R&D) with the model of ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The analysis stage was interviews with the teacher and class VIII J students of MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak, followed by the planning phase that comprised the process of designing the product. During the development phase, the media validation was tested before being implemented in class VIII J of MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak to determine the learning outcomes in the post-implementation phase. The product was then evaluated based on the eligibility data. Based on data analysis, the product is eligible to use based on the criteria: higher validity number; reliability of 0.770; the average score of pre-test > post-test by 41.11 > 77.78 with the difference value of 2.8; the responses on the product by 3.26 with the very good category; and, the effectiveness of product feasibility by 2.92 with a high classification. Therefore, the developed learning media is feasible and effective for improving the students’ achivemnt about vibration in class VIII J of MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of self-diagnosis sheet on linear motion towards students’ study result at class X SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi. The form of this research is pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The tools of data collection is essay test with five questions. The sample of the research was chose by using purposive sampling technique. The students’ study result that analysed through N-gain formula had increased 0.641 (medium). It was found that the average percentage of students’ study result before using self-diagnosis sheet was 46% and after the use of self diagnosis sheet is 80%. The use of self-diagnosis sheet is effective to increase students’ study result with effect size score obtained 1.520 (high). The result of this research is expected can be used as an alternative learning activity to increase students’ study result. Keywords: Effect, Study Result, Linear Motion, Self-Diagnosis Sheet.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to asses the effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Learning Model with Mind Mapping to remediate student’s misconception on ‘work’ for grade X IPA student of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak.. The method used in this research was preexperimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design. Samples of study were purposive sampling and selected base on Physics teacher’s recommendation. The instrument of research included 10 questions of diagnostic test. The average range of students misconception in pre test was 82,94% and in post test was 30% . The average range decreased 64,36% after the treatment. Based on McNemar test, overall students experienced significant misconception with value of χ2 count (82,51) > χ 2 table (3,84), df=1 and α = 5%. The effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Learning Model with Mind Mapping to remediate student’s misconception about ‘work’ that used to reduce the misconcepted students through DQM of 64,37% which included in medium category. Therefore, teachers suggested to used Guided Inquiry Learning Model as alternative learning technique in order to straighten out student misconception in the material ‘work’. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research is to improve the student learning outcomes by guided inquiry learning models about solid pressure. The populations of this reseach is 8th grade of SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak’s students on 2018/2019 school year. Research sample is determined by purposive sampling technique consists of 29 students. The kind of this research is quasy experimental research used one group pretest posttest design. The datas took by test learning outcomes method consists of 9 multiple choice questions. The result of analisys in t-test shown that the student learning outcomes at points Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 for  t-test score. The results of this research, there is a significant difference between learning outcomes in the pretest and posttest data. The results of this research shown 44 for before while 66 for after being treated in average score of the student learning outcomes. Then the data is analyzed using N-gain testing 0,4 in the medium category, it means there is an improvement of the student learning outcomes about  solid pressure after applied guided inquiry learning models. The result of this study are expected to be an alternative in efforts to improve the student learning outcomes about solid pressure.Keywords: Guided Inquiry, Learning Outcomes, Solid Pressure

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of interactive conceptual instruction (ICI) models to increase the learning outcomes of the elasticity's material of students in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. This reseacrh method is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. Intact group purposive sampling used in this research with 34 students of XI MIA 2 as experiment class and 35 students of XI MIA 1 as control class. 7 items are used as instrument with each test before and after treatment. Based on the results of analysis an increase in the learning outcomes of control class students by 0.29 (low) and the experimental class by 0.60 (moderate). The results of  calculation of the experimental class gain and control class obtained sig.(2 tailed) of 0,000 < 0,05 it can be concluded that there is a significant differences in student learning outcomes improvement using the ICI model and the effectiveness of using the ICI model is categorized as high with effect size 3.30 (high category). Based on these results show that the impelementation of the ICI model is effective in improving students learning outcomes the material elasticity in SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak.Keywords :  Effectiveness, Elasticity, Improved Learning Outcomes, Interactive Conceptual Instruction.

Abstract

Abstrak This research was aimed to improve the students’ learning outcomes on the Vibration material using Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model. This is pre-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design, conducted at SMPN 8 Pontianak involving 28 students in class VIII C. The data were obtained using a test in the form of ten multiple-choice and five essays. Based on the Wilcoxon test using SPSS version 22, obtained Sig 2-tailed by 0.000 < 0.05; Thus, Ha was accepted. Therefore, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in the learning outcomes before and after the selected model was applied. The average scores obtained after applying NHT was 77.76, with the effect size by 1.86 (categorized high). In conclusion, the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model is effective to use in improving students’ learning outcomes in vibration material. Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research was to remediated of student’s misconceptions through the application of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) in fluid dynamics at SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. One group pretest-posttest design was used as method of this research. Population of this research was all students of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The samples was used intact group technique which the outcome is class of XI IPA 4 with 32 students. Diagnostic test was used as the instrument of this research, it’s consist of 9 multiple choice questions. Based on the data analysis, the mean percentage of student's misconception decreasing is 42,47%. McNemar statistic test result with dk = 1 and α = 5% showed >, this result showed that there is a significant change of the student’s conception. The effect size cohend’s of AIR in the remediation of misconception is 1,05 (high category). In conclusion, the remediation of misconception through application of AIR is capable to overcome student’s misconception. Keywords: remediation, misconceptions, Auditory Intellectually Repetition,fluid dynamics

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to find out how to develop a problem-based business and energy material module for critical thinking skills. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the Borg & gall model. The development of problem-based business and energy material modules for critical thinking skills consists of an introduction cover, a table of contents, an introduction in the form of descriptions, core competencies, basic competencies, indicators, learning objectives and module use, content in the form of concept maps, presentation of problems, material presentation, practice questions, glossary, competency test questions as well as competency test answer keys and the last closing in the form of module identities, and bibliography. The results of data analysis show that the development of problem-based business and energy material modules for critical thinking skills in terms of content feasibility is 83.33% and presentation is 81.11% which is included in the very high criteria. Student responses in the initial field test were 77.49% (high) and 81.49 (very high) in the main field test. So that the results of this study are expected to be a material consideration for schools and teachers in choosing an effective problembased learning module to improve student learning outcomes.Keywords: Development, Learning Module, Effort And Energy
