Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to describe the implementation of the REACT strategy (relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, transfering) on the curved surfaces at grade IX B SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak. The research method was experiment method with a one case study design. The techniques of data collection used in this research were observation, test, and indirect communication with the instruments used were the learning implementation observation sheets, the student learning activity observation sheets, the learning outcomes tests, and the student response questionnaires. Based on the results of research and the data analysis, it was found that the implementation of learning with the REACT strategy was classified as good with an average score of 3.14, student learning activities with the REACT strategy were classified as active with an average percentage of 77.35%, classical student learning completeness had not been fulfilled by the percentage of students who achieved the completeness criteria was only 30%, and the student's response to learning the REACT strategy was positive with a score of 1.6861. Keywords: Curved surfaces, Implementation, REACT strategy,

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to know the effectiveness of the Pair Check type cooperative learning model on SPLTV material at class X SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. The indicators that want to be knowed are the implementation of learning management, student learning activities, student learning outcomes and student responses. The research method used was the experimental method, with a pre-experimental design. The research subjects were students of class X IPA 4. Based on data analysis from four indicators, namely: 1) the implementation of learning management was categorized well with an average score of 3.35; 2) the learning activities of students are classified as active, namely 74%; (3) classical learning outcomes of students are not met, there are only 25 students or 74% who achieve a minimum completeness value; 4) the response of students is in the positive category, with 2 students (6%) giving a very positive response, 31 students (91%) giving a positive response and 1 student (3%) responding hesitantly. So the conclusion of this study was that the application of the Pair Check type cooperative learning model is not effective on SPLTV material in class X of SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak Keywords: Cooperative learning model, Pair Check type, System of linear equations three variables

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to find out the validity of e-learning media based on android application on the addition and subtraction of algebraic material and students responses toward it. The approach of this study was Research and Development and used ADDIE model. The study consists of 5 stages namely analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate. The sample of the research was class VII students of SMP Mandiri Pontianak. The instrument used in form of a sheet of validity of e-learning media based on android application and questionnaire. The expert validation value of e-learning media based on android application was 3.4 and categorized as valid. Furthermore, the expert validation value of e-learning media based on android application was 3.44 and categorized as valid. The students gave positive respond toward e-learning media based on android application in percentage amount of 71.62%. Thus it, can be summarized that e-learning media based on android application on the addition and subtraction of algebraic material is valid so it is worth to be used as a learning medium and students responses was categorized as positive in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspect. Keywords: addition and subtraction of algebraic, android application, e-learning media, students’ responses,

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the quantitative reasoning of senior high school students in essay test of trigonometric subject matter. Quantitative reasoning that emphasizes the effective involvement of life and daily work in solving problems makes quantitative reasoning in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum which is based on constructivism curriculum. Students have quantitative reasoning if they have six aspects of ability. The six aspects are representation, interpretation, calculation, analysis, communication and assumptions. This research uses descriptive exploratory methods and with case study research. Data collection uses essay test questions with trigonometric material and interview guide sheets. Six students were chosen with different abilities, namely high, medium and low. After conducting research on the six children, it can be concluded that in general students do not have good quantitative reasoning. this is because the six children examined have not been able to fulfill all six aspects of quantitative reasoning, especially the aspects of student is communication are classified as very low with a percentage of 0%.Keywords: Essay Test, Quantitative Reasoning, Trigonometric

Abstract

AbstractIn this research, Misconception is an inaccurate definition or comprehension about a concept and the use of a concept that is not in accordance with the concept that has been negotiated scientifically by an expert from that field, also an inability to associate the initial concept with the next one correctly in linear inequality of one variable. The purpose of this research is to discover student’s misconceptions in the linear inequality of one variable and the cause of it in grade X SMK-SMTI Pontianak. The tools used to detecting student’s misconceptions in this subject are four-tier diagnostic tests while the form of the research is a case study with a descriptive method. The techniques to gather the data in this research are test (written test) and non-test (interview). The result from misconception description analysis that has been done by students found that misconception happened in translation, concept, systematic, and calculation. Based on the form of the misconception that students have, the most is a misconception in the concept. The causes of student’s misconceptions are preconception or an initial concept, student’s associative thinking, incorrect reasoning, inaccurate intuition, student’s capability and the lack of students' interest in learning. Some causes of misconception showed that preconception or initial concept is the misconception that happened most to the students. Keywords: Misconception, Four-Tier Diagnostic Test, linear inequality of one variable
