Abstract

AbstractThis study aimsed to determine the effectiveness of the index card matcj type active learning strategy in Pythagorean theorem material. The method used in this study was the experiment method and pre-experimental research with one-shot case study design. The effectiveness of learning  the active learning strategy index card match type the implementation of learning, student activities and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used were measurements and observation sheets. The data collection tool used is are the student learning outcomes test, which contains 5 essay questions, observation sheets implementing learning and observation sheets for student activities. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results of data analuzed obtained the implementation of learning with a good category,student activities classified as active and student  learning outcomes are complete in a classical manner.Because all the effectiveness criteria are met, the active index card match type learning strategy in the Pythagorean theorem material is effectively used in class VII SMP N 12 Pontianak Keyword: Active Learning Strategy, Effectiveness Learning, Index Card Match, Pythgorean Theorem

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine how the ability of mathematical representation of students solve quadrupests that have self-efficacy high, moderate, and low, in class VIII at Mts Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. The research method is qualitative descriptive research, the data collection techniques used are test techniques and direct communication techniques. The data collection tools used are polls, problems with Essai, and interviews. It is obtained that students with high self-efficacy can relatively understand the context of the problem, can present the information provided in visual, verbal and symbol forms; Self-efficacy students are having difficulties in resolving the given problem, unable to represent the complete and less precise representation, and still confusion in the representation of representations to be used so that Understand the context of the matter; Students with self-efficacy low difficulty in resolving the problem, do not understand the context of the given problem, can not determine and represent the representation correctly.  Keywords: Ability of Represenasi Matematis, Rectangular, Self-Efficacy

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of learning cycle 5e (engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation) to improving students mathematic communication skills in trigonometry material. The form of this study used experimental method with a design which was one group pretest-posttest. The population consisted of all students 1st grade at SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. According to the purposive sampling technique, the X MIPA class was then chosen as a sample. The data of this study collected by mathematic communication skills test and observation sheet. There was several points resulting from this study, such as (1)The average of the students mathematic communication skills test result which before and after the implementation of learning cycle 5e was 5,55 and 8,45 respecively; (2) The t-test result showed that students mathematic communication skill between before and after the implementation of learning cycle 5e have a difference. This difference was show by n-gain that is on fair levels. In general, the conclution of this study was implementation of learning cycle 5e is good to used to increased students mathematic communication skills, especially in trigonometry material at X MIPA SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak.Keywords: Learning Cycle 5E, Mathematic Communication Skills, Trigonometry Material

Abstract

AbstractThe fact in math education is adaptive reasoning ability that is still low. Students’ adaptive reasoning ability are influenced by some factors, one of them is teacher as a center of learning so that the mathematical concepts are conveyed in an informative manner without deep understanding. Therefore, Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach is used to increase adaptive reasoning ability. This research aimed to explore information about students’ adaptive reasoning ability in set theory subject matter of grade VII at SMPN 7 Sungai Raya. The method of this research is experiment and research design is one-shot case study. The samples of this research are 27 students of grade VII D at SMPN 7 Sungai Raya. Essay questions are used to collecting the students’ adaptive reasoning ability outcomes. The results of data analysis showed that the average of posttest score is 73,61. Based on the t-test with the significance level α=5% found that the adaptive reasoning ability of students after learning with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach is included in the high category. It means that application of  Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach is good in set theory subject matter at grade VII SMPN 7 Sungai Raya. Keywords: Adaptive Reasoning Ability, Problem Based Learning Approach

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research in general is to determine the ability of mathematical creative thinking in solving epen ended questions on the linear equations material of two variables of class VIII A in SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Ambawang. The research method is descriptive method in form in case study research. The subjects in this research werw 34 students of class VIII A of SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Ambawang and the focus of the research was the ability to think mathematical creatively in solving open ended questions of two-variable linear equations. The result of data analysis showed that students’ mathematical creative thingking ability in the fluency aspect reached 78%, in the flexibelity aspect in reached 58%, and in the novelty aspect it reached 25%.Keywords : Ability to think mathematic creatively, Open ended, Twovariables linear equation

Abstract

AbstractMA Darul Ulum is a private school with a Tarbiah background where they get general lessons like students in general and in addition they also learn to memorize the Qur'an after studying from morning to afternoon, and in the afternoon until evening they carry out again. the same activity. Then in the process of student learning activities in the class, students should always connect mathematics with the Al-Qur'an so that students know that mathematics lessons that are often studied can be linked to the Al-Quran, especially SurahAl-Kahf verse 22. In this study, the method used is the connecting method designed into the Learning Implementation Design and after that it can be used by the teacher in carrying out the learning process obtained from the results of the implementation of the 22nd verse of the Al-Kahf chapter. The results in this study are the results of the implementation of the Al-Kahf surah which can be used in a learning design that uses the connecting method. Then in the implementation results obtained, there are core competencies from the first to the fourth which can be used in the Learning Design. For the conclusion itself, that is in the Al-Qur'an, especially Surah Al-Kahf verse 22, there are implementation results that can be used in the implementation of learning designed in the Learning Implementation Plan.Keywords : Interconnection, Mathematics, Learning Activities

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine and describe the effectiveness of students learning with the implementation of the strategy of active learning tipe peer lesson on the material quadrilateral in class VII SMP N 21 Pontianak. The method that used is Experimental research design with Posstest. The sample of this research wan students of class VII D. Instruments used in the form of the essay and the observation sheet. Based on the results of the analysis obtained information that the effectiveness of students learning with the implementation of the strategy of active learning tipe peer lesson is with the category of effective. Furthermore, the average percentage of student learning activities that use learning strategies active type Perr Lesson is 75,92% by category active. The average percentage of adherence to the syntax of student learning using learning strategies active type Perr Lesson is 4,13% with very good category or keterlaksaan syntax learning effective. The average percentage of student learning outcomes using learning strategies active type Perr Lesson is 87.5% with category very good. Abstract

                         AbstractEffectiveness of the Application of the Problem Based Learning Model in Inequalities of Absolute Value in class X of SMA 1 Sungai Raya. This study aims and determine the Effectiveness of the Application of the Problem Based Learning Model in Inequalities of Absolute Value. The method used was an experiment namely Pre-Experimental Design, in the form of The One case study. The research subjects were 36 students, namely class X IPA 4. The research location was in SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Data collection techniques use the direct observation, measurement, and indirect communication techniques. The data collection tool is in the form of an observation sheet. Data validity and reliability using Moment Product Correlation techniques and Alpha techniques. Data from questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The implementation of teaching teachers is categorized as "very good", with a score of 3.61. Activities of students in the "active" category. Student learning outcomes do not reach the prescribed (classical) boundaries. Student responses provide a good response. In general, it was concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model in the Inequality of Absolute Value material in class X was declared less effective. It was suggested to the teacher that in using the Problem Based Learning model careful planning was needed so that the results are more accurate, using the Problem Based Learning model the problem given was the problem of the level of difficulty according to the level of thinking of students. Keywords: Effectiveness, Inequality of Absolute Value, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

AbstractThe aimed of this research was to knowed how the effectiveness of mind mapping learning model with heuristic strategy Krulik and Rudnick in problem solving on probability materials in SMA. The method used is pre-experiment method, while the subject are 32 students of class XI IPA4 SMAN 5 Pontianak. The technique used in data collection is a measurement technique. Data collection in the form of observation sheet for learners. Data were collected and analyzed by calculating percentages and mean values. This study was conducted 3 times of meetings. the result of the data analysis showed that student activity during the learning process obtained an average of 64,91% which is categorized as quite and posttest result of students' math problem solving ability obtained 61,13 which is categorized well. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that mind mapping learning model with heuristic strategy of Krulik and Rudnick was effective in teaching on probability material in class XI IPA4 SMAN Pontianak. Keywords:  Mind Mapping Learning Model, The Krulik and Rudnick Heuristic strategies, Problem-Solving

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to explain the learning obstacles experienced by students in the ability of statistical literacy that students have in junior high school. The research method used is a descriptive method with the case study form of studies. The research agency is 5 students of Class IX G in SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. The selection of the body is done by giving test literacy ability statistics and then 5 selected students each again given a test of difficulty and conducted interviews. The data collection techniques used are written tests and interviews. The data collection tools used are test instruments, hsse interviews, and cameras. The results of this research data analysis Products that in general the literacy skills of student statistics classified as Sell, from 36 students, obtained by the results of 8% students have a very high ability, 17% of students who are highly capable, 28% of students are capable, 33% Sell-enabled students and 14% of students are highly skilled. In addition, based on the results of the research, it is known that from 5 students, it is very easy to experience the didactic obstacles (didatical constraints), ontogenesis obstacles (ontogenic obstacles) and epsietemological obstacles (epistemological constraints).Keywords: statistical literacy, learning obstacles
