Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to description the proportional reasoning abilities of middle school in solving comparison problem. Subject of this descriptive research were 4 student of VIII C class Middle School 18 Pontianak. The 4 student were 2 systematic cognitive style student and 2 intuitive cognitive style student. The instrument used to this reasech were written test and the cognitive-style inventory test. Data from the test were analyzed using steps data reduction, display data and conclusion. The result showed that the four student has different proportional reasoning abilities in solving comparison problem. The proportional reasoning abilities of subject S1 dan S2 tended to be at level 3 by using unit rate, factor of change and cross product algorithm strategy in solving direct propotion problem. The proportional reasoning abilities of subject S3 dan S2 tended to be at level 0 by using randomly uses numbers, operations, or strategies in solving inverse propotion problem. The proportional reasoning abilities of subject S3 dan S4 tended to be at level 0 by using randomly uses numbers, operations, or strategies in solving direct propotion and inverse propotion problem. Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to determine how to overcome the barriers of learning students in social arithmetic materials using Madura ethnomathematics in grade VIII B Islamic Junior High School Ashabul Kahfi Pontianak. The form of research used in this study is case study research. This study's data source is grade VIII B students of SMP Islam Ashabul Kahfi Pontianak, and the data were the initial and final test answer sheets and the results of interviews.. The results showed that Madurese ethnomathematics could overcome the barriers of student learning. Before using the ethnomathematics Madura tribe, students experienced errors in the concept of summation arranged downwards, errors in the concept of subtraction arranged downwards on numbers that have many zero digits, and errors in the concept of division, and errors calculating values in performing calculated operations. After using the ethnomathematics, the Madura tribe students can already operate using the way of counting done by traders, can already work on the problem of using the way of counting done by traders, and can already work on the problem by obtaining the correct value settlement. Although there is still students who still experience a slight error caused by the student's disability, all students cannot work using the correct steps. Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Learning Obstacles, Madura Tribe, Social Arithmetic

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine and describe mathematical habits of mind strategies in solving problems of students with high and low mathematical abilities on the material of three variable linear equation systems in Senior High School 7 Pontianak. The research method used in this research is descriptive with a case study research form. The subjects in this study were students of class XI MIPA 3 in Senior High School 7 Pontianak and the interview subjects were two students with high math ability and two subjects with low math ability. The results showed that students with high mathematical abilities meet all components of mathematical habits of mind strategies, namely exploring mathematical ideas, generalizing, reflecting on the correctness of answers, identifying problem solving strategies that can be applied to broader problems, making questions and making examples. Students with low mathematical abilities meet three components of mathematical habits of mind strategies, namely generalizing, identifying problem solving strategies that can be applied to broader problems, and making questions. Keywords : Mathematical Habits Of Mind, Analysis, Problem Solving

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to know the effectiveness implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in learning arithmetic sequence and series material at class X of SMK. The method used in this study was a pre-experimental method with One-shot case study. The aspects used to determine effectiveness by application the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model was the implementation of learning by teachers in managing learning, student activities, and student learning outcomes. The data collection tool used is a test, student learning outcomes test which contains 6 essay questions, observation sheet of learning implementation of learning the teacher in managing learning, observation sheet of student activities, and research results data analyzed descriptively. It was found that the learning implementation process of learning by the teacher in managing learning was classified as good, namely (3.5). The activity of students is classified as active, which is equal to 64%. Classical learning completeness is not fulfilled, there are 25 students or 62.5%. Students who achieve the minimum completeness value, learning by application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in arithmetic sequence and series material at class X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak are said to be ineffective.                   Keywords:  Arithmetic  Sequence And Series Material, Implementation of learning,   Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Model.

Abstract

Abstract This research is aimed to acknowledge the relationship between self-efficacy and high schoolers' mathematical communication ability in the material of Reciprocal Trigonometric. The research is one kind of correlation and ex post facto research, emerged with the qualitative approachment. Research subjects were all the students of X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya. The technique used is measurement by giving self-efficacy scale and essay-form test of mathematical communication ability. The results showed that students' self-efficacy ability is in the medium category, while the mathematical communication ability stayed in high category. In order to gain the relationship between both variables, data analysis was conducted. Data was normally-distributed and had a linear correlation. After then, correlation analysis was done by performing Pearson Product Moment Test. The test gained Sig.(2-tailed) > α or 0.165 > 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there are no any relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical communication ability. In other words, no matter how high the rate of students' self-efficacy, it won't affect their mathematical communication ability. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of the research is to find the relationship between mathematical beliefs and learning outcomes. This research uses ex post facto method and correlational research form. The samples in the study were students of class VIII A, the data obtained in the study were the results of a questionnaire on mathematical beliefs and the value of learning outcomes. Based on the results of the research, it was found that 0.594 showed a relationship between mathematical beliefs and learning outcomes and was in the moderate category. So it can be concluded that if mathematical confidence is high, learning outcomes are also high. Keywords : Mathematical belief, Learning outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe students understanding of mathematical concepts basedon Bloom's theory in solving trigonometric material story problems in class X SMASanto Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Based on Bloom's theory, students have anunderstanding of the concept if they have three indicators of ability. The threeindicators are translation, interpretation and extrapolation. This study uses adescriptive method with a case study research form. Data collection used storyquestions with trigonometric material and interview guideline sheets. The subjects inthis study were students of class XI MIPA at SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianakin the 2018/2019 academic year who had studied the trigonometric comparisonmaterial on right triangles. Based on the results of the study, it can be concludedthat in general students have a very poor understanding of the concept based onBloom's theory. This is because students have not been able to fulfill the threeaspects of understanding the concept according to Bloom, where the translationindicator is in the poor category with a percentage of 54.69%, interpretationindicators and extrapolation indicators are in the very poor category with apercentage of 25.69% and 20.83% respectively. Keywords: Bloom's Theory, Story Problems, Trigonometric, Understanding TheConcept
