Abstract

ABSTRACK Background: According to research conducted at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in 2011-2012, it was reported that the average age was 28 years from a range of 2.5 months to 76 years, while the mortality rate was 36.6% in patients with extensive burns. more than 60.0% of them all experienced death. Research was carried out at the Pharmaceutical Biology Laboratory and the Pharmaceutical Qualitative Laboratory at the Deli Husada Deli Tua Health Institute, as well as at the Pharmaceutical Preparation Technology Laboratory for the manufacture of extracts and gel preparations. The research took place from March to May 2024. This research is a laboratory experimental research. The research population is jackfruit leaves and papaya leaves. The samples used were jackfruit leaf and papaya leaf extracts with concentrations of 3%, 6%, 9%, as well as bioplacenton gel. Research procedures include making simplicia, making extracts using the maceration method, characterization of simplicia, as well as formulation and quality eval_uation of gel preparations. Effectiveness testing was carried out by observing the healing time of burn wounds in mice treated with ethanol extract gel from jackfruit leaves and papaya leaves. The results of this study showed that the effectiveness of healing burn wounds from the combination of ethanol extracts from jackfruit leaves and papaya leaves every day in each formulation. In the positive control (bioplasma) at a concentration of 6% there was no significant difference of p0.05 on days 3, 6, 12 and 15. On day 9 there was a significant difference of p0.05 in each formulation. However, it can be concluded that the 6% concentration is the most effective in healing burns. The bioplacenton gel preparation has better effectiveness in healing wounds compared to the gel preparation combining the ethanol extract of jackfruit leaves and papaya leaves. Abstract

Community Service aims to increase public knowledge and understanding regarding the use of tomato juice as a basic ingredient for natural cosmetic preparations. Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum) are known to contain various active substances such as lycopene, vitamin C, and antioxidants that are beneficial for skin health, including brightening, moisturizing, and protecting against free radicals. Educational activities are carried out through counseling, forcing the preparation to be made, and distributing leaflets to the target community. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge regarding the benefits and how to make cosmetic preparations based on tomato juice. This program is expected to encourage the community to make more use of natural ingredients in skin care and reduce dependence on chemical products.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease, with increasing global preval_ence. The use of medicinal plants as complementary therapy offers a promising alternative, one of which is winged bean leaves (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.), known for their flavonoid and antioxidant content. This community service activity aimed to educate the public on the potential benefits of winged bean leaves in managing high cholesterol levels. The method involved health education sessions, interactive discussions, and leaflet distribution to patients and their families at Sembiring Hospital. Results showed a 73.5% increase in participants' knowledge after the educational intervention. Education on the use of herbal remedies such as winged bean leaves plays an important role in promoting natural and accessible approaches to hypercholesterolemia prevention and management.

Abstract

Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus, and group of arthropod-borne viruses. Aedes mosquitoes, particularly Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus, are the primary vectors of dengue disease transmission. A product that is used in skin-protection cosmetics to protect the skin from mosquito bites is anti-mosquito lotion (repellent). Water, emulsifying agents, humectants, and fatty ingredients make up lotion preparations. The bitter gourd and papaya leaves employed in this study were the active ingredients used to make lotion preparations. The lotion formulation used in this investigation contained flavonoid chemicals at varied extract concentrations of 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%. The bitter gourd's and leaves' active components Because papaya is known to contain a lot of antioxidants, it can be used as an insecticide and lotion to ward against mosquitoes. According to SNI-16-4399-1996, preparations for anti-mosquito lotion made from papaya leaves and bitter melon extract pass the physical quality test because they are all homogeneous, have an oil-in-water emulsion type, are stable during storage for two weeks, and do not irritate the skin. Anti-mosquito lotion made with bitter melon fruit extract and papaya leaves, which is distinguished by the presence of dead mosquitoes in each formulation, has an effect on the effectiveness as an insecticide or repellent against mosquitoes on the skin that is applied. The extract lotion preparations' concentration The most powerful insecticide or mosquito repellant is a 6% extract of bitter gourd fruit and papaya leaves.
