Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of applying the inquiry-based learning model on student learning outcomes in Social Studies (IPS) at the elementary school level. The research employs a literature review method by analyzing various sources, including journals and academic writings. The findings reveal that implementing the inquiry model significantly enhances students' academic performance and critical thinking skills. Students engaged in inquiry-based learning achieved higher average scores compared to those taught using traditional methods. Additionally, this model fosters an engaging and contextually relevant learning environment. However, its success is influenced by student motivation, teacher competence, and the availability of resources. In conclusion, the inquiry-based learning model is an effective approach to improving the quality of Social Studies education at the elementary level, although optimized strategies are necessary to overcome existing challenges. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di Sekolah Dasar (SD). Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kajian pustaka yang mencakup analisis berbagai literatur dari jurnal dan karya ilmiah terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model inkuiri secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan inkuiri mendapatkan nilai rata-rata yang lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang belajar dengan metode tradisional. Selain itu, model ini menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan relevan dengan pengalaman nyata siswa. Namun, keberhasilan implementasi model inkuiri dipengaruhi oleh tingkat motivasi siswa, kompetensi guru, serta ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana. Kesimpulannya, model pembelajaran inkuiri merupakan pendekatan yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS di tingkat SD, tetapi diperlukan strategi penerapan yang lebih optimal untuk mengatasi hambatan yang ada.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools requires the application of appropriate learning models so that student learning outcomes can be optimal. This article is compiled using a literature study method that analyzes various research results related to the influence of Jigsaw-type cooperative learning on mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools. The Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model places students in small heterogeneous groups, where each member is responsible for studying and delivering certain parts of the material to their original group. Based on the analysis of various studies, it was found that the application of the Jigsaw model was consistently able to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes at various grade levels. This increase is reflected in the increase in average grades, percentage of learning completion, and student absorption in each learning cycle. The results of statistical tests in several studies also showed that the influence of the Jigsaw model on learning outcomes was scientifically significant. Thus, this study confirms that Jigsaw-type cooperative learning is effectively implemented as a strategy to improve mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools. These findings are expected to be a reference for teachers and educational policymakers in choosing an innovative and results-oriented learning approach.
