Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kualitas sumber daya manusia dan pembangunan bangsa. Program Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 8 di SD Negeri 140/IV Kota Jambi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi dan numerasi siswa di tengah keterbatasan fasilitas. Berdasarkan observasi awal, ditemukan berbagai tantangan, seperti rendahnya minat baca dan keterbatasan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Program ini melibatkan kolaborasi antara mahasiswa, guru, dan siswa dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menyenangkan dan interaktif. Beberapa program yang dilaksanakan meliputi Pojok Baca, Restorasi Perpustakaan, penggunaan teknologi melalui aplikasi seperti Quizizz, serta kegiatan berbasis permainan seperti Treasure Hunt Literasi dan Battle Game Numerasi. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan minat baca siswa, keterlibatan mereka dalam pembelajaran, serta pemahaman mereka terhadap konsep-konsep matematika dasar. Program ini juga menunjukkan pentingnya peran kolaboratif dalam memperbaiki kualitas pendidikan di daerah yang membutuhkan perhatian lebih.

Abstract

Science education (IPA) at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in shaping students' scientific thinking and basic science skills. However, the implementation of science learning at SDN 55/I Sridadi still faces numerous challenges, particularly regarding limited infrastructure and teachers' competencies. This article aims to explore in depth the obstacles encountered by teachers in teaching science and to propose strategic solutions for improving the quality of learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through literature review and interviews with fifth-grade homeroom teachers at SDN 55/I Sridadi. The findings indicate that the main challenges faced by teachers are the lack of adequate facilities and the limited competency in teaching science effectively. The study recommends enhancing educational facilities and providing ongoing teacher training as concrete steps to overcome these obstacles.

Abstract

Social studies learning in elementary schools often experiences obstacles in the implementation of practices due to lack of student activity and limited facilities and infrastructure. This study examines strategies that teachers can apply to optimize social studies learning practices by utilizing environmental media around the school. The results of the literature review show that the use of environmental media creatively and in a structured manner can increase student involvement and overcome limited facilities and infrastructure. A contextual approach using local resources has proven effective in creating meaningful learning experiences and improving understanding of social studies concepts in elementary school students
