Abstract

Germination is an important initial process for seed-bearing plants. Several special treatments are carried out to break dormancy and stimulate seed germination. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of visible light spectrum and gibberellin hormone (GA3) on initiating the germination of mung beans. This research uses an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) on mung bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). The results of the study showed that the single factor of red light influenced the growth of radicles and plumules of seedlings, while the single factor of GA3 at a concentration of 75 ppm affected the length of radicles. The combination of red light treatment and 75 ppm GA3 showed the best results for radicle elongation at the 12-hour observation time. The results obtained in this study can be used as a reference to improve the efficiency of mung bean germination.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the understanding of junior high school science teachers in Parepare City towards the immersive learning approach using artificial intelligence (AI). This activity involved 35 teachers who are members of the MGMP IPA. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews to measure teachers' perceptions of immersive learning and their level of satisfaction with the workshop held. The results of the questionnaire showed that the majority of teachers understood the concept of immersive learning, although some still had difficulty in designing and managing time in its implementation. In addition, most participants expressed high satisfaction with the materials, delivery methods, and benefits obtained from the workshop. Thus, this activity made a positive contribution to improving teacher readiness in implementing AI-based immersive learning in the classroom. The recommendation from this study is the need for further training and the development of more comprehensive learning resources to support the implementation of immersive learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Pisang kepok (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana) merupakan jenis pisang yang paling populer di masyarakat Sulawesi Selatan. Namun, produksi pisang kepok dapat menurun disebabkan oleh infeksi cendawan patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gejala pada daun pisang yang terserang cendawan patogen dan mengidentifikasi genus cendawan patogen yang terdapat pada daun pisang di Kelurahan Samata Kabupaten Gowa Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode observasi yakni pengamatan gejala pada daun pisang di lapangan dan identifikasi jenis cendawan patogen hingga tingkat genus berdasarkan ciri makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga gejala pada daun pisang yang terserang cendawan patogen yaitu gejala pertama berupa daun menguning dari tepi kemudian menjadi coklat dan mengering dengan tepi gejala berwarna merah bata hingga kecoklatan dan terbentuk halo kuning di sekitar gejala. Gejala kedua memperlihatkan terbentuknya bercak nekrosis berbentuk oval dengan halo berwarna kuning cerah. Gejala ketiga memperlihatkan terbentuknya nekrosis mulai dari tepi daun dan terbentuk halo kuning diikuti dengan bercak memanjang berwarna coklat hingga hitam pada helaian daun mengikuti jari-jari daun. Adapun genus cendawan yang menginfeksi daun pisang (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana) di Kelurahan Samata Gowa yang telah diidentifikasi yaitu Fusarium spp., Cordana sp., dan Cladosporium sp.
