Abstract

Identification of research trends and topics is a crucial aspect of academics and research to ensure the relevance, contribution, and novelty of a study. However, difficulties in identifying relevant and latest research trends and topics remain a significant challenge for researchers. The aim of this study is to produce a product in the form of a guidebook for mapping research trends and topics using the Vosviewer application. This research employs the Four-D model development design, consisting of four stages, of which definition, design, development, and dissemination. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaires distributed to media experts, content experts, and guidebook users. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative techniques to determine scores from validators and product users. The study produced a guidebook for mapping research trends and topics that excels in terms of content and design quality. From the content perspective, the guidebook received an average percentage of 45.3% categorized as "very appropriate" and 54.6% categorized as "appropriate." From the design perspective, the guidebook received an average score percentage of 64.5% categorized as "very appropriate" and 48% categorized as "appropriate." This guidebook can be utilized to build academic identity, demonstrate research originality, and address contemporary needs

Abstract

Pembelajaran kalimat efektif di perguruan tinggi merupakan aspek penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi yang jelas dan terstruktur. Namun, mahasiswa sering menghadapi kesulitan dalam memahami dan menerapkan prinsip kalimat efektif, terutama di luar Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap kalimat efektif melalui media permainan daring Quizizz pada Mata Kuliah Umum Bahasa Indonesia. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Teknikdan instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa cenderung lebih memahami materi kalimat efektif yang disampaikan dengan pendekatan interaktif menggunakan Quizizz. Sebagian besar mahasiswa memberikan umpan balik positif, menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan tidak monoton. Selain itu, mahasiswa dapat dengan mudah mengevaluasi kesalahan mereka, terutama dalam penggunaan tanda baca, kata baku, dan huruf kapital. Quizizz juga terbukti efektif sebagai alat evaluasi, membantu dosen mengidentifikasi kesulitan mahasiswa dan merancang materi pembelajaran yang lebih sesuai. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif seperti Quizizz meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman mahasiswa, sekaligus menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang inovatif.

Abstract

Constructing effective sentences is a crucial skill that university students must possess as future academics. This skill significantly influences the effectiveness of both oral and written communication. The purpose of this research is to produce a digital teaching module on effective sentence construction, supported by the Kotobee application, for university students. This study is a research and development (R&D) project employing the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Research data were obtained through observations and questionnaires involving experts in language, subject matter, and digital module design. The instruments used for data collection were observation sheets and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques based on the scores provided by validators and users. The design aspect of the module was evaluated on several components: (1) visual appeal received 54% 'very appropriate' and 37% 'appropriate'; (2) readability received 70% 'very appropriate' and 25% 'appropriate'; (3) layout received 62% 'very appropriate' and 33% 'appropriate'; and (4) image quality received 63% 'very appropriate'. Meanwhile, the content aspect was assessed through: (1) completeness and clarity of material, with 66.7% rated as 'very appropriate'; (2) presentation of examples, 59.8% 'very appropriate'; and (3) provision of practice questions, 56% 'very appropriate'. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the digital teaching module on effective sentence construction meets the feasibility criteria in terms of both design and content

Abstract

This study aims to explore research trends in pragmatics within second language learning using a bibliometric approach. The data consists of 57 articles related to writing skills in literature, sourced from the Scopus database between 2020 and 2025, analyzed using VOSviewer software. The analysis reveals that the dominant topics are pragmatic competence and its development, with a particular focus on adult learners. Additionally, aspects such as pragmatic awareness, pragmatic production, and pragmatic transfer were found to be crucial in second language communication. The study also highlights the importance of technology and digital-based learning methods in supporting pragmatic teaching, which has become increasingly relevant in our interconnected world. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into developing more practical and applicable methods for teaching pragmatics, helping second language learners effectively acquire pragmatic competence in a way that meets the demands of today’s globalized environment.

Abstract

Kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah secara akurat dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara agar siswa kritis dalam mengatasi berbagai persoalan dan tantangan di sekitarnya. Dengan memiliki keahlian menulis karya ilmiah, seseorang akan mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan, pemahaman, pencapaian, bahkan finansial. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk untuk medeskripsikan kegiatan sosialisasi penulisan karya ilmiah bagi siswa SMK di Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek siswa SMKN 5 Yogyakarta. Hasil yang didapat dari kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah pemahaman siswa terkait karya ilmiah termasuk dalam kategori “Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dibagikan ke siswa, dapat diketahui bahwa persentase pemahaman siswa terhadap materi sebanyak 80%. Siswa juga menunjukkan rasa antusias dalam mengikuti sosialisasi penulisan karya ilmiah karena materi ini difokuskan untuk menggali potensi siswa dalam memaksimalkan bidang keahliannya.
