Abstract

Basic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character of students, emphasizing both academic growth and the internalization of moral and spiritual values. State Elementary School (SDN) 6 Langkai School in Palangka Raya applies a non-differentiated teaching module that focuses on delivering uniform material to all students, promoting an inclusive and simple learning environment. Despite challenges such as limited facilities, a less comfortable learning environment, and students' varying levels of understanding, the module aims to foster social and moral values in alignment with the local context. This study examines the implementation of the module, the challenges faced by teachers, and its impact on students' learning outcomes. A qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, was used to gather data. The results emphasize the importance of improving teacher competencies, enhancing school facilities, and adopting active learning methods to overcome existing challenges and ensure the module's effectiveness in delivering quality education.

Abstract

This study's objective is to describe the implementation of teaching modules as a Christian Religious Education learning strategy at Palangka Raya Christian High School. Teaching modules are used as learning tools in the Merdeka Curriculum to help teachers design structured, contextual, and student-centered learning. Seventeen students in the tenth grade served as research subjects for this study, which employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out thru observation of the learning process, analysis of learning documents, and evaluation results of student learning. The study's findings show that the implementation of teaching modules is able to support the systematic implementation of learning, increase students' active participation in discussions and group activities, and help achieve fairly good assessment results. Nevertheless, some constraints were found in the implementation of learning, such as time limitations and supporting facilities. Overall, the implementation of the teaching module has positive implications for improving the quality of the Christian Religious Education learning process and outcomes, and has the potential to be developed sustainably to shape students' character based on Christian values.

Abstract

This study looks at how the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model is used in Christian Religious Education (CRE) and checks how it helps students develop their critical thinking abilities. In today’s education system, students are not just expected to remember Bible stories, but also to understand what they mean, think about the moral lessons, and use Christian values wisely in their everyday lives. However, past observations show that CRE classes often use a lot of lectures and memorization, which doesn’t give students much chance to think deeply or link what they learn to real-life situations. The CTL model provides a better way for learning by using seven key parts: constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning community, modeling, reflection, and real-world assessmen. A descriptive qualitative design was employed involving CRE teachers and students selected purposively from classes that have integrated CTL in online and face-to-face settings. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and instructional documents. The analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s stages of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation to strengthen credibility. The findings reveal that CTL enhances student engagement, promotes higher-order reasoning, and supports the internalization of Christian values in real-life contexts. Supporting factors include a positive school climate, parental involvement, and teacher readiness, whereas obstacles emerge from limited facilities, large class sizes, and insufficient teacher understanding of CTL. The study underscores the need for context-based and character-oriented instructional designs in CRE.

Abstract

The implementation of the eighth-grade Christian Religious Education teaching module on the topic "Love as the Foundation of a Believer's Life" was carried out as an effort to provide an active, reflective, and contextual learning process in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. Learning is designed through an interactive approach with discussion activities, analysis of biblical texts, case studies, problem-solving, and personal reflection that provide opportunities for students to construct understanding independently. Through these activities, students are guided to understand the concept of agape love as sincere love, giving without expecting anything in return, and is manifested in concrete actions towards others. The implementation results show that this teaching module is able to improve students' conceptual understanding of the meaning of love from a biblical perspective and its relevance in modern life. Students appear to be increasingly confident in expressing opinions, are able to work together in groups, and are actively involved in learning activities. In addition, the emergence of attitudes of empathy, tolerance, and habits of helping each other are indicators that the value of love is not only understood cognitively, but also internalized in behavior. This teaching module also contributes to improving students' critical thinking skills and spirituality through reflection activities that invite them to evaluate acts of love in daily life at school, family, and society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Christian Religious Education teaching module on the topic "Gratitude for God's Creation" in grade VII of SMP Negeri 12 Palangka Raya. The implementation was carried out to help students understand the meaning of gratitude for God's creation and apply it in everyday life through active and creative learning activities. The learning activities used group discussion methods, faith projects, role-playing, presentations, and personal reflection so that students were directly involved in learning, not only as listeners but as active actors in the learning process. The research subjects were three students who participated in the learning according to the Christian Religious Education subject schedule. The results showed that students were able to recognize and name various creations of God through reading Genesis 1:1–31, express gratitude through poster works and simple songs, and show enthusiasm during the learning process. The assessment of learning outcomes showed that two students obtained the good category and one student the adequate category, which means that the implementation of this teaching module has a positive impact on the development of students' knowledge, attitudes, and skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process and results of the implementation of the teaching module "My Responsibility as a Child of God" in Christian Religious Education and Character Education learning in grade IV of SDN 1 Kereng Bangkirai Palangka Raya. This module was developed to instill the value of responsibility as a Christian character in students through active learning activities that include discussions, Responsible Action Challenge games, and the preparation of personal commitments. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 10 students as subjects. Data were obtained through observation, cognitive, affective, psychomotor assessments, and documentation during the learning process. The results showed that students were able to understand the concept of responsibility biblically through the story of Joseph in Genesis 37–50, and showed increased enthusiasm, cooperation, and courage in expressing opinions. The personal commitment products produced by students showed that most students were able to formulate concrete actions as a form of implementation of responsibility in everyday life. Obstacles found were variations in students' ability to focus and differences in the speed of students in understanding instructions, but these could be overcome through more intensive guidance and direction.
