Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development strategy of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in facing digital era competition in Pontianak City. Using a mixed-method approach, the research was conducted on 375 MSME entrepreneurs through a combination of surveys, in-depth interviews with 20 key informants, observations of 10 MSMEs, and focus group discussions with three stakeholder groups. The results show that the level of digital technology adoption among MSMEs remains at a medium level (40% active, 35% in transition, 25% conventional), with key influencing factors including digital literacy, resource availability, and ecosystem support. MSMEs that have adopted digital technology showed an average revenue increase of 157% and operational efficiency improvements of 25-30%. The research recommends a comprehensive development strategy that includes strengthening digital capacity, facilitating access to technology and infrastructure, developing financing schemes, strengthening collaboration with digital platforms, and developing sustainable assistance systems. The implementation of this strategy requires active collaboration between local government, private sector, academics, and MSME communities in building a supportive digital ecosystem.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the foreign language literacy capacity of NPO Aku Belajar volunteers in Pontianak through training based on Extensive Reading (ER), addressing the low literacy and foreign language skills in Indonesia, particularly among volunteers assisting children from underprivileged families. The methods applied include participatory workshops, hands-on practice, continuous mentoring, and evaluation through pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and ER reading product assessments. The results show significant improvements in ER concept understanding (10% → 100%), training material relevance (20% → 90%), ability to identify new methods (25% → 95%), participants’ reading interest (60% → 80%), and high participant satisfaction (average 4.4/5). ER training effectively enhances volunteers’ foreign language literacy while facilitating the production of educational reading materials for marginalized children, creating a domino effect in improving community education quality. The program demonstrates the flexibility and adaptability of ER in nonformal education, strengthens partnerships between academic institutions and community organizations, and contributes to the achievement of SDG 4 (quality and inclusive education) and SDG 10 (reduced inequalities). These findings confirm that interest-based and practical interventions can serve as a best practice strategy to improve literacy, volunteer capacity, and cross-community educational empowerment.

Abstract

Climate change and air pollution are necessitating a transition towards sustainable transportation. However, the adoption rate of electric motorcycles in West Kalimantan remains low. This study aims to analyze the factors shaping the intention to adopt electric motorcycles in this region using an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. A quantitative method was employed, involving a survey of 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with the data analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a positive and significant influence on adoption intention. Notably, perceived ease of use emerged as the most dominant determinant, not only directly impacting intention but also indirectly influencing it through perceived usefulness. Among the external variables, compatibility was found to enhance perceived usefulness, while enjoyment positively affected perceived ease of use. Conversely, resource availability did not significantly shape initial perceptions. The implications of these findings suggest that stakeholders should prioritize strategic communication that highlights the ease of use, enjoyable riding experience, and functional benefits of electric motorcycles. These efforts should be supported by policies aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and providing incentives to encourage broader adoption.
