Abstract

Technology has become an essential need for various groups in everyday life, including in the world of education. Technology such as television and mobile phones play an important role in supporting students to develop technological skills. This research focuses on developing an educational information system at Teladan Medan Private High School which aims to manage student, teacher and learning data effectively. This information system is expected to be able to improve the management and use of technology in the teaching and learning process. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach. This approach views the research object as an interrelated system and functions to describe the phenomena that exist at the research location, namely at SMAS Teladan Medan. The instruments used are adapted to field conditions, with the aim of obtaining reliable data. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of information technology in education, especially at the high school level.

Abstract

Fenomena judi online terus meningkat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, terutama di Indonesia, seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi dan kemudahan akses internet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami motivasi, pola perilaku, serta dampak dari keterlibatan individu dalam perjudian online skala kecil teratur (sketer). Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan individu yang memiliki pengalaman dalam judi online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi utama keterlibatan meliputi kebosanan dan tekanan ekonomi, sementara dampaknya mencakup siklus kecanduan, kerugian ekonomi, dan tantangan psikologis. Meskipun perjudian online memberikan kesenangan sesaat, dampak jangka panjangnya merugikan kesejahteraan individu dan sosial. Studi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam merumuskan kebijakan atau strategi pencegahan yang lebih efektif untuk mengatasi dampak negatif perjudian online.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of dependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students' academic independence. The rapid development of AI technology in the era of digital transformation has significantly influenced learning behavior in higher education. While AI provides efficiency and accessibility in academic activities, excessive use may lead to dependency, potentially reducing students’ critical thinking and self-regulated learning abilities. This study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto correlational design. The sample consisted of 33 students from the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Medan. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings reveal a significant negative relationship between AI dependency and academic independence. The higher the level of dependency on AI, the lower the students' ability to regulate their learning independently. These findings emphasize the importance of balanced and responsible AI usage in academic contexts to maintain students’ autonomy and critical thinking skills.
