Abstract

The traditional representation of women in beauty products has often focused on their attention-grabbing appearance, while men have typically been associated with a simpler, more masculine look. However, this discourse is evolving as more beauty brands use male brand ambassadors. This shift is due to the growing acceptance of men using beauty products, despite some resistance rooted in societal stereotypes. This study aims to analyze how male brand ambassadors challenge traditional gender norms, particularly regarding masculinity and femininity. Using discourse analysis, the research examines advertisements featuring male brand ambassadors and explores how they simultaneously project both masculinity and femininity. The results show that these advertisements reflect a changing perception of gender roles, where men are portrayed as not only masculine but also in touch with femininity, blurring the boundaries between the two. This research contributes to the understanding of how beauty marketing reflects and influences evolving gender identities and the shifting cultural landscape of beauty standards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji skrip emansipasi perempuan melalui tafsir gender dan peran pendidikan Islam pada masa kolonial di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan historis-kritis dan studi pustaka. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi terhadap arsip, karya tokoh, dan literatur sejarah. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi (content analysis) untuk mengidentifikasi pola tafsir dan strategi pendidikan yang digunakan tokoh-tokoh Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh-tokoh seperti Rahmah el-Yunusiyyah di Padang Panjang, dan TGKH. Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid di Lombok—yang mendirikan Madrasah Nahdlatul Banat Diniyah Islamiyah (NBDI)—telah menyusun skrip emansipasi berbasis Islam melalui pendidikan bagi perempuan. Mereka menafsirkan ajaran Islam secara progresif dan kontekstual sebagai basis perjuangan kesetaraan. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan Islam pada masa kolonial bukan hanya sarana dakwah, tetapi juga alat pemberdayaan perempuan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya reinterpretasi ajaran Islam yang inklusif untuk mendukung perjuangan gender masa kini. Emansipasi perempuan Muslim bukanlah produk Barat semata, tetapi bagian dari khazanah perjuangan Islam Nusantara.

Abstract

This study intended to Analyze the use of Simple present tense and Simple Past Tense in Actualizing Writing Skill of MTs Raudlatuttholibin (RTH) NW Paokmotong Students. Which has one classes, it is consist of 40 students but the writer just takes 30 of the students as the sample of this research. To get the data needed, the writer used two research instruments in the form of simple present tense and simple past tense test. The students were given 10 question and five question from ten question asked them to describe some picture and five question again students just translate the sentence from Indonesian to English language. Having analyzed the whole data obtained it is found out that the student’s error and student’s goal. In the test of simple present tense and simple past tense is considered fairly good with the mean score is 60. Finally, the writer knows the problem of the students and for the next researcher’s undertake a large investigation in to the same research is.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know is there any effect of intensive reading in teaching reading comprehension (Class Action Research study of MA Nurul Wahyi NW Mujur). This study investigates the effect of intensive reading in teaching reading comprehension. The writer will intentionally emerge the phenomena. Considering the experts’ opinions above, it can be determined that this study is categorized as the class action research study. The population (subject) of this study was all of the second year students of MA Nurul Wahyi NW Mujur in the school year 2023/2024 which consist of 15 students. The data that are needed in this data in this study is the result of pre and post-test. Pre-test was given to the subject before doing teaching-learning process by using intensive reading. While, post test was given after applied the intensive reading, in the teaching-learning. The items of pre and post-test are the same. Based on the data gained for Class Action Research group in pre-test gained the lowest and the highest score 10 and 60. While, in the post-test obtained the lowest and highest score 80 and 100. For the control group in the pre-test gained the lowest and highest score 10 and 60. While, the in the post-test the lowest and highest score were 80 and 100. The effect of intensive reading in teaching reading comprehension Class Action Research study at MA Nurul Wahyi NW Mujur). In the school year 2023/2024 has differences before and after applied intensive reading. It can be seen from the result of data analysis which is indicated that the diagram of the means score was 91.250 for experimental group was 28.6 and the mean score of control group. The deviation scores for experimental group was 28,6 and control group was 6.083.3. While It’s means that after treatment by using intensive reading there was a positively significant in teaching reading comprehension.
