Abstract

Infectious diseases and malnutrition will soon replace non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease, cancer and depression as causes of death and disability in developing countries. Cardiovascular disease (31.9%), including hypertension (6.8%) and stroke (15.4%), is the highest cause of death, according to the results of the 2007 Basic Health Research in Indonesia. Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure in the body’s arteries continuously increases, which can cause serious risks to health such as heart disease, stroke and other organ damage. This article will contain information about hypertension and its management. The method used is literature study by taking existing data and then collecting it in this article. It is hoped that this article will be useful and beneficial for various needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penerapan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 16 Tahun 2021 tentang Bangunan Gedung untuk menjamin keselamatan, kesehatan, kenyamanan dan kemudahan pada bangunan gedung, termasuk lembaga pendidikan seperti sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK). Kebijakan ini menetapkan standar yang harus dipatuhi, khususnya mengenai kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja (K3). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi kebijakan tersebut di SMK YASPI Medan, dengan fokus pada keberhasilan dan hambatan pada saat implementasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur dengan kepala sekolah sebagai informan kunci. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui tingkat kepatuhan kebijakan dan tantangan yang dihadapi selama implementasi kebijakan. Hasil menunjukkan SMK YASPI Medan memenuhi beberapa standar yang ditetapkan PP Nomor 16 Tahun 2021 seperti pemenuhan izin mendirikan bangunan dan penyediaan pintu darurat. Namun masih terdapat kesenjangan yang signifikan, termasuk kurangnya peralatan keselamatan seperti alat pemadam kebakaran ringan (APAR), rambu evakuasi resmi, dan alat pelindung diri (APD). Kendala utama penerapan kebijakan ini adalah keterbatasan anggaran dan kurangnya dukungan teknis dari pemerintah. Selain itu, rendahnya kesadaran siswa dan pegawai tentang pentingnya budaya K3 juga menjadi tantangan. Simpulan meskipun SMK YASPI Medan telah mengambil beberapa langkah untuk memenuhi standar kebijakan, masih terdapat kebutuhan mendesak untuk memperkuat basis keamanan dan meningkatkan kesadaran tentang K3. Saran yang dapat diberikan antara lain alokasi anggaran khusus, pelatihan K3 secara berkala, dan pendekatan kebijakan yang mendalam untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih aman dan kondusif.

Abstract

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a common gastrointestinal disorder that occurs in productive age, especially among university students. One lifestyle factor that is thought to contribute to the incidence of GERD is coffee consumption habits. This study aims to analyze the relationship between coffee consumption and the incidence of GERD in students of the Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University of North Sumatra. This study used a case control design with a retrospective approach. The sample amounted to 82 people, consisting of 41 cases and 41 controls, selected using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through GERD-Q questionnaire and food frequency questionnaire, then analyzed using chi-square test. The results showed that regular coffee consumption was significantly associated with the incidence of GERD (p = 0,001) with an OR of 6.86 (95% CI: 2,5-19,1). In contrast, frequency of consumption per day and type of coffee did not show a statistically significant association with the incidence of GERD (p > 0,05). This study concluded that regular coffee consumption is a significant risk factor for the incidence of GERD in university students. Health education regarding wise coffee consumption is needed to prevent gastrointestinal disorders in the student population.
